Chapter 19        Full Alert

Within five minutes of the incident happening, Katrina drove past the street. Both the pretty ladies in the car were searching for Zhou Qingfeng. It was good that they saw a few police cars stop at the turkey barbecue shop.

Several police shouted and rushed into the shop. Following that, two naked police officers were carried out of the shop. These two hapless men were handcuffed to a table; the disgrace on their faces was indescribable.

In Brooklyn, unfortunate events that happened to the police was a happy affair for the black men here. Many bystanders gathered in front of the barbecue shop and took out their phones to record the incident. The videos were uploaded to the internet almost instantly.

Due to the public shaming of the police, a small case of assault on the police had spread like wildfire. It was all over Brooklyn in three minutes, and in ten minutes, it was known across the entire New York. After twenty minutes, CNN started to broadcast the case. Half-an-hour later, Zhou Qingfeng’s mugshot was all over the world.

“It seems like your friend is going be famous,” Katrina drove through the area but did not find Zhou Qingfeng. However, the news on her phone reported every single detail about what he did. Not only did she see the news of him robbing the police, she also saw the video of Zhou Qingfeng killing the black robber at McDonald’s. She paid special attention to his swift turn, the way he dodged, and the way he took only an instant to stab the robber.

Anyone who saw that scene would be amazed by Zhou Qingfeng’s agility and speed. Katrina was even more surprised!

As a mercenary, Katrina was very sensitive to the act of killing and getting killed. Naturally, she imagined herself as the robber. The outcome was however perturbing. She found that even if it she paid full attention, she could not have defended herself against Zhou Qingfeng.

It was too quick. It was too quick that others wouldn’t even have the time to react. This kid definitely knew a few tricks; he wasn’t that weak.

“Maybe we really should find him, I’m a little interested in him now,” Katrina was famous for her speed, however, she felt threatened and challenged by Zhou Qingfeng’s actions. She turned to look at Angie and asked, “Your friend is wanted; where do you think he would hide?”

“Erm….!” Angie tried to recall for a moment, shrugged her shoulders, and said, “Victor doesn’t seem like the type to go out often; he always stays at home.”

“A nerd?” Katrina repeatedly watched the video of the scene where Zhou Qingfeng killed the robber. She shook her head and said, “No, no, your friend is definitely not a nerd. He’s more capable than you think.”

Angie, too, watched the scene of Zhou Qingfeng killing. Even an idiot could tell that Zhou Qingfeng was smooth at it. His reaction was quick and ruthless - it was a fatal move!

The little girl found this hard to accept. She looked at the video, confused, “I never thought that Victor was capable of murder. He promised me that he wouldn’t hurt anyone.”

“Anyway, we’ll talk about it once we find him,” Katrina tuned in to the police channel with a tapping device. She listened to the news announced by the police as she drove.

Katrina and Angie were not the only ones who were thinking about Zhou Qingfeng. In fact, the entire Brooklyn police headquarters was triggered. The criminals in New York lied to the police, beat the police, or even shot the police. However, there was no one who had stripped the police after robbing them.

It was indeed a big slap in the face for the New York Police Department, especially when social media added extra content and made it worse. The chief officer was enraged.

“Investigate the suspect and check who he’s related to. Command all the patrol officers to leave immediately. We must find that bastard. For any officer who finds him, you have my approval to shoot him. We can’t tolerate the criminal who publicly provoked the police.”

The chief officer’s command spread all over Brooklyn. Every police in that area went out looking for Zhou Qingfeng. There were many squads which were trained to handle riots in the police, especially in North Brooklyn, the most chaotic town. The gangsters on the street were all intimidated by the heavily-armed special force.

The ability of the New York police was one of the best in the United States. The police here needed to be extremely aggressive and overbearing to be able to handle the violent criminals. They were called cold-blooded and ruthless. Even their teeth were armed.

As Zhou Qingfeng showed terrifying, violent tendencies, the ostentatious New York police sent out five or six helicopters of the fully-armed special force. They were ready to strike Zhou Qingfeng.

“Where is that bastard? Find him! I want to see his dead body or him standing in court, crying.”

The chief police officer of Brooklyn even announced on social media, in person, “Nobody can embarrass us like that and get away with it. We’ll find him and he will pay for what he did. If anyone is able to be provide us with any information, we are happy to reward you with fifty thousand dollars in cash.”

People can be bought over if the price is high enough. Many who watched the news was attracted by the reward money. The people in bars, supermarkets, shops, and even the pedestrians started to pay attention to their surroundings.

Zhou Qingfeng’s identity was discoverd very quickly and social media published everything online immediately. However, the information about him was unbelievably simple - a simple address, apart from name and age.

There was no information about his parents, his level of education, his relatives or friends. Apart from his registration for social assistance, there was no other information about him.

“This is a violent criminal with an impulsive personality disorder. He normally looks soft and harmless, but he’s actually a ticking time bomb. You will not know when he will hurt you.”

“The police of New York is here to remind everyone to keep a lookout for this violent criminal. Based on the evidence from the crime scenes, he has very deadly killing skills. He could kill anyone in seconds.”

“This young man named Victor Hugo, is probably a terrorist. He might be a trained professional who hid in New York city. We should be more alert about his next moves. Hopefully, we can arrest him as soon as possible.”

The news intensified as time passed, even though there were violent cases in New York every day. However, Zhou Qingfeng’s consecutive crimes and his great skills attracted the attention of the New Yorkers. Zhou Qingfeng had been demonized for the people of New York.

However, the strange thing was, even though the number of police who were after him kept increasing, and nearly every road and street was blocked, Zhou Qingfeng was nowhere to be found. Everyone started to question, where did this horrible and violent criminal hide?
