Chapter 39 Shot and Dead
“Do you think that I’m an idiot?”
Zhou Qingfeng was mad and he walked forwards. He turned his rifle around and used its stock to hit Chief Bratton in the stomach. The chief police officer turned into a hunched prawn on the spot. The pain in his stomach made him feel like he was going to vomit his internal organs out.
Zhou Qingfeng heard the chief police officer retch and watched as his face turned pale due to the pain. He lowered his head and said, “I was here and heard the entire conversation between you and this lady. Where did you get the confidence to think that I would trust your bullshit? Do I look dumb?”
“You…. you… you will regret this,” the chief police officer was trying very hard to show his authority and power. However, it did not matter whether it were him or Lena Fox; they were both worthless trash in Zhou Qingfeng’s eyes. After all, around twelve hours later, the police and all the big companies will vanish.
Lena Fox was so nervous that her body was shaking. She saw what Zhou Qingfeng did to Chief Bratton and she heaved a sigh of relief. When she saw that Chief Bratton was still trying to intimidate him, her anger instantly turned into an impulsive outburst. She walked forwards and kicked him in the crotch. The chief turned into a jumping prawn. “Bastard! I thought that you were my lifesaver but you were trying to kill me!”
“Don’t kill him. I need him to get out.” Zhou Qingfeng bent down to pick up the equipment of the two members of the special force. He received a lot of stuff from them immediately.
There were two point 45 USP pistols: the Americans’ favorite and their traditional weapon. There were also two point 223 short-barreled SCAR rifles, Picatinny rails that came with a full complement of weapons and accessories, as well as grenade launchers.
One of the special force members did not only have the pistol and rifle with him, he also had a Benelli M4 Super 90 shotgun on his back. He must have specialized in assault.
However, these weapons and equipment did not even come in handy when Zhou Qingfeng killed them from behind. Zhou Qingfeng did not even do much to get these good stuff. Some of the equipments were damaged by his shots. It was an added forty kilograms of stuff that Zhou Qingfeng had to carry when he took these equipments. If it was the ‘old’ him, he would already be breathless. However, now, he felt very good. Indeed, the NTZ-49 has greatly improved his physical fitness.
It’s a good thing, but also a bad thing!
Zhou Qingfeng gave Lena Fox the Glock 17 pistol. He then dragged Chief Bratton and said, “Alright, Chief, I hope that you’ll cooperate with me to let me get out of here safely.”

Chief Bratton hmphed and mumbled a swear word. Nevertheless, he still behaved and led the way. Zhou Qingfeng was equipped with the weapons and equipment of the New York special force members. Even though there were some bullet holes in his uniform, it was only noticeable if you looked closely.
Three of them slowly walked out from the hospital and saw the cordon of police controlling the place. A bunch of social media reporters were gathered. When they saw three of them coming out, their cameras flashed incessantly. “Look…. Look… Lena Fox! She is safe! She is safe!”
All the cameras quickly turned in the direction of this well-known celebrity. Some of the reporters even passed the restriction line and rushed forwards just to ask her, “Miss Fox, can you tell us about your feelings and experiences of being kidnapped?”
Lena Fox was instantly surrounded by a bunch of people. A lot of the reporters and police who did not know the truth behind the situation started to clap. The scene that they were watching was one where the chief police officer, Chief Bratton, had saved Miss Fox, who was kidnapped. In addition, Zhou Qingfeng followed them in his fully-armed, blood-stained uniform. It enhanced the New York police as a crime deterrent.
“Chief, can you talk about it?”
“Chief, how was Miss Fox saved? Please accept our interview!”
“Chief, the entire United States wants to know the details. Tell us something!”
The reporters did not just surround Lena Fox; they also rushed towards the gloomy chief police officer. The chief police officer saw someone rush towards him and he was going to hide in the crowd. However, Zhou Qingfeng instantly moved forwards, grabbed his arm, and whispered in his ear, “Chief, don’t force me to kill you on spot.”
Facing the reporters who rushed towards them, Zhou Qingfeng yelled, “Please give way, give way! The chief police officer is busy. He needs to rest and won’t be able to talk now. If you need an interview, please go to the New York police station.”
Zhou Qingfeng brought Chief Bratton to a police car and pushed him into the passenger’s seat. While he was getting into the car, he realized that Lena Fox had followed him and got into the backseat.
“What are you doing?” Zhou Qingfeng asked while he put on his seatbelt. “Miss Fox, you are free now. You’ve met the reporters like you wanted. You can go to your company now.”
“It seems like you don’t like me following you. That’s weird!” Lena Fox was confused. “But, I had a gut feeling that I needed to follow you.”
Zhou Qingfeng was going to say ‘You’re crazy’, but Chief Bratton, who was behaving very well, suddenly opened the door and rushed towards a few members of the special force who were on standby. He yelled, “Help! Help! This cop is a suspect. He and Lena Fox planned everything. Kill them immediately! Right now! Right now!”
The chief police officer did not even go further than five meters before a gunshot was heard. Zhou Qingfeng had promptly shot the Chief’s vest. He was quite accurate this time and the chief police officer fell to the ground on the spot!
Lena Fox immediately freaked out and yelled, “Holy shit! All the police are around. You shouldn’t kill him now!”
