The sky was dark. The night was too long, rain started to pour down strong as if it wants to punish everyone down below. The thunder strikes relentlessly like nature itself was angry.

At the peak of the snowy mountain, Zion looked at the people who surrounded him. He glanced up and his gaze shifted from one person to another.

"Zion, only smart people will live longer, give up the inheritance and we will let you live. We knew you had the inheritance for a long time, so don't deny it."

All around the people shouted and screamed at Zion.

Upon a rock Zion sat, Shrouded in a black coat, covered in blood and mud with the disheveled hair, the pale smiling face of Zion showed a determined look. Now he had an indifferent look in his eyes, it was calm and sturdy. No one dared to look at that face.

The crowd started to murmur, and then someone came from the crowd and said, "Don't try to make yourself strong Zion; we know you are mortally wounded. Be smart that is best for everyone."

Zion looked around, at his feet down below, the limbs and bodies of experts laid down covered in fresh blood. Some unrecognizable corpse, Zion thought, 'do they feel their death has any meaning? Insatiable greed will only bring pain and misery'.

Despite the frenzy of crowd none of them dared to fight Zion, he looked coldly and mockingly at them and laughed with disdain. After a short period, Zion asked, "So all of you are here for the inheritance, how are you going to share? There are many of you after all."

"Do not try to divide us, Zion. Today you will die and then we will decide what to do with inheritance. You don't need to meddle in it; it is none of your business. Give up the inheritance that way you will have a slim chance of survival."

The experts were not idiotic enough to charge at a cornered Zion, who can still unleash enough firepower, to profit others. They waited; they sealed off every possible escape route and pushed back Zion ferociously. They knew if today Zion escaped none of them could ever sleep peacefully and be prepared to get hunted.

Zion spat at them and said, "You are nothing more than dogs. You think your lord care about you; 'you worthless fools', you are nothing more than pawns in their hands and only valuable until the game ends."

"It is not us the biggest fool Zion, it is you. Those people may not be able to come down for now, but how long, in a century they will come down. Where will you hide then? They will hunt you down in the entire universe even if you somehow got off the planet. At least we have an escape route, we will crawl slowly, but we will survive and one day we will reach a stage where you can only dream."

Zion sighed, he knew they were telling the truth, even if he escaped today they will come and make his life miserable. However, he cannot give in now; even if he surrendered now, the rest of his life was doomed.

He slowly looked at the pendant hanging on his neck. It was a dragon coiled around and gave a lustrous feeling with the bluish grey look.

He felt disappointed, he spends a long time to find the mystery of this pendant, but it didn't give any response. He would have suspected the pendant was a fake if not for the origin of the pendant.

He passed various test and hurdle to get this shit; it has yet to prove its worth. Even if he gave up this pendant, they won't believe this piece of shit is the inheritance. He pours his blood and sweat to awaken this pendant yet he failed repeatedly.

Zion was left with an unbearable sense of loss.

"Everyone! We should attack now, together, we can't delay it any longer, each second we delay his chance to recover increase and we will suffer a great loss" one of the experts roared.

Yet Zion remained unfazed at this crowd and spoke, "I always thought that I would die one day, whether facing the zombies or the mutant beast I didn't die, however, to think that I planted in the hands of the likes of you I'm ashamed myself. Tell me who betrayed me! How did you know I would be here tonight?"

No one said anything and they attacked together. They had estimated Zion is closed to death and this is the right time to attack. Zion fends off the attacks one by one and he spat blood, and then coughed. He looked at the crowd with a complex look, he was angry, despaired, but deep down, he could not hide the never-ending rage. He was hunted down like a beast, Zion the strongest person on this planet was hunted like a dog. Nothing can wash this stain.

Suddenly Zion was jerked. A sharp straight metal piece was pierced his body. The crowd stopped the attack and looked around to see who stabbed Zion in the back.

ARTHUR!! Zion roared as he saw the face of the person who stabbed him on the back. 'Arthur, why did you betray me'? Zion questioned him in a weak voice.

"Why? You ask, to have a better life! They can give me anything I want as long as I gave up you. Now, do you understand why I betrayed you, my dear friend? I am not willing to be part of your foolishness and get killed as a result."

Zion smiled mirthlessly, coughed and spat the blood again; he knew he was going to die. He stood straight and mumbled himself "so this is the end". He took a strange spherical object and lighted it.

"That is the poison bomb! Run". The crowd started to panic, but Zion knew none of them was going to live after this day. The poison bomb is an explosive that will incinerate everything in half a mile radius. With the releasing of poisonous shrapnel and smoke that kill any living creature slowly even if anyone survives.

He spends ten years in this nightmare. After his family perished over the control of the silver city, Zion despaired, hated himself for wasting the precious resource his family spends on him. The guilt of being the sole survivor of this massacre left a deep wound that never healed.

He didn't let the despair bring him down to the abyss, he thirsted for vengeance. The anger and hatred didn't cloud his mind, he became rational and pragmatic.

While everyone was on a race to become strong. Zion knew better, he knew strength alone is not enough, knowledge is the power and he must make sense of what was happening. With the strength and knowledge, he became one of the strongest individuals on the planet.

He was alone; no one was able to keep up with him and left him at one time or another. He was also failed to create an organization that could support him at times. He was afraid if he cared, they were going to die for his actions. However, deep down he knew he was nothing but a coward who couldn't take the responsibility.

In this last moment of death, he remembered his family and told himself it was finally over. He did not feel any of the pain, for the first time in his life he laughed and cried. "If there is another life I wouldn't be a disappointing child father". Unknown to him the pendant that was silent until now glowed strangely.

BOOM! A rising colossal fireball went up with thunder and lightning. The shock waves that formed covered a thousand miles with a deafening sound. The mountain cracks and slides down, but half a mile radius around Zion was laid waste without even leaving behind the bones. A black barren wasteland was left behind as an evidence for this breathtaking battle.
