James had made his way back to the library by now and had found the clerk still standing there currently arguing with someone who had apparently also found out they had been scammed too late and had already purchased the lessons. Unfortunately, refunds were not implemented yet in this world, and there was no buyers protection of any kind to be seen.

James listened intently and realised that the man who was arguing with the clerk had paid an even steeper price than he would have been charged at 20 Leones a lesson, the man was either a complete fool or was extremely rich. Either way, it appeared he didn't like to be taken advantage of.

"Excuse me sir but how much did you say you paid for lessons?" James asked with an innocent smile on his face.

"20 Leones per lesson boy now stop listening in on my conversations" the man wasn't annoyed with James but was irritable due to his annoyance at the clerk.

"That's weird, this clerk told me mere hours ago that the costs were 14 Leones and 16 Leones to learn reading and to write respectively" James shamelessly stirred the pot with an innocent glance towards the clerk. If you looked hard enough, you could see a hint of smugness in James' eyes after he had been stirring up the man to make him angrier.

"You WHAT, how can you charge different rates for different customers, what type of place are you running here!?" Neither man had realised while they were staring at each other hatefully James had used his small stature to allow him to slip behind the desk and grab the receipt for the cheaper services and slyly drop it into the customer's eye line.

The clerk catching James' actions at the last second threw himself towards the piece of the paper, but the man following the clerk's movements moved even faster and was able to grab the note in time. The one thing that shocked James to the core was that both of these men had dashed that fast they became a blur in his eyes. This speed was genuinely shocking, and unlike anything, he had ever seen on Earth.

'System how the hell did they move that quickly that was insane!'

[System does not have enough information to answer this question]

James was beginning to realise that the system would need some base of knowledge to speculate off of, but at the moment he knew nothing about this world.

"What is this you were so intent on stopping me from seeing?" The man gave a cold look to the clerk and then scanned over the piece of paper in his hand.

"YOU BASTARD, you dare to scam me. See how I won't deal with you, after this, you will be lucky to be able to feed your family let alone steal from people." The man stormed off in a rage not forgetting to thank James on the way out of the Library. It seems he knew it was James that exposed the clerks secret.

"So, teach me or don't, it's up to you. Just know if you don't then there will be a day you regret it more than scamming these people. the two will be worlds apart." James activated his skill he had just bought from the Dominator skill tree on his way to the library, the first and only one available to him; Dominators Gaze.

"Fine, just head through to the back room there is a man in there who will teach you what you want to know." The man was affected by James' stare and wondered how a boy so young was able to emanate such a cold feeling, but he felt he was already in enough trouble and didn't want to risk anything at this point.

"Give the man in the room your payment when you are done." After that, the man began to try and hide any further evidence that could be used against him when the man inevitably came back with someone from the guards.

Upon entering the back room and seeing walls full of books and feeling the urge to read them all and knowing it would take him an age he was reminded of the Fast Reader perk from the bookworm skill tree.

'System purchase the fast reader perk please.'

[Purchase confirmed. 3 Exp used. Current Exp: 0]

"Are you here for Reading or writing?" An overweight man with a kind face smiled at James, apparently happy to see a young man trying his best to learn more.

"I would like to do both if that's alright with you" James smiled innocently towards the man not knowing if he would accept.
