"What were the other reasons?"

"I had some other things I wanted to patent, some stuff like the spear."

"Anything else?"

"Nothing I think is worth mentioning right now."

"I see, in your letter, you mentioned selling me a large number of these weapons, crossbows you called them, I am interested in them. How much does each one cost?"

"I'll be charging 5 Leones per crossbow."

"Material costs can't be more than 50 Birr how can you stand to charge so much!?"

"I pay my people very well hence the necessarily high price; I also am the only person capable of producing these weapons in the market so I can, within reason, sell them for as much as I like."

"I suppose this is true, and with the kingdoms support for the patent office, no one else could make them, well played."

"Thank you, so would you like to place an order?"

"I'll take 2000; I have a ranged regiment under my command that I would like to use them." After telling his order, the man transferred James 100 Leones through their PTM's.

"That is do-able, you will have to give me a bit of time, but it should be ready within a month. Also, what are your thoughts on paying me using magic crystals, or at least supplying me with them while I pay you the remainder of the cost."

"I suppose this is easy enough; you could just pay me for them though, each basic crystal is worth about 1 Sol or 1000 Cedi."

"So expensive? The kingdom truly has a tight hold on these crystals; I'm afraid if I can't buy crystals then there is no reason in me doing these deals, I will have to settle with one element for my awakening I guess." James began walking to the door now; he was taking a significant risk right now, if the man didn't stop him, then he wouldn't be able to source the crystals nearly as quickly.

"Wait, did you say you already had an element?"

"I may have, why do you ask?"

"How did you get it" the man's face suddenly had a cold expression on it, he knew it shouldn't have been possible for James to get a magic crystal.

"I found it, one day I was walking through the slums, and I found an old man who had been beaten up, he told me to take the crystal and hide it to use when I was older. I recently realised what the crystal was for, so I used it." James span a tale out of nothing as if it was second nature to him; he couldn't let this man know about his father for now.

"I see." It seemed he had no way to refute James but didn't fully believe what he had said either.

"What did you think of the bow I sent as well?"

"It was great, but compared to the special woods we have they lack in power. Obviously, we can't make a lot of them, so we have to use normal ones, I feel like crossbows are better for my men as they will only ever be in a defending position in most likelihood."

"Ah, I see, what kind of special materials are you talking about by the way?"

"When trees grow in areas with a high density of elemental particles depending on the element the wood can be affected by it making it have different properties, for example, the water element will make the wood springy, the fire element will make it hard, the earth element makes it denser. That's just a few examples of course but enough to get an idea."

"Thanks for the explanation, it's appreciated."

"Is that everything you need from me for now?" James was eager to leave, so he decided to end the conversation here.

"Yes, that should be fine, by the way, if you want to buy magic crystals since you already have an element you can get them for 50 per cent off when you want to buy them. Just come to see me, and I can sort the deal"

"Okay, thanks for letting me know." James was ecstatic inside, at 50 per cent off as long as his businesses all went according to plan he would be able to buy whatever he needed.

'System, show my bank balance.'

[Bank Balance:

Personal Account: 745 Cedi, 13 Leones, 22 Birr

Future Project Account: 50 Cedi, 68 Leones, 42 Birr]

'Holy Shit, I'm rich. I didn't expect the store to do this well; I guess a good chunk would be the patent office as well, but still, isn't this a bit exaggerated?'

"Do you mind if I buy a crystal right now?"

"I suppose as long as you have the money there's no problem." Raymont was extremely shocked; he knew James had no parents and was living by himself, how could such a young man have so much money? Although after he began thinking about the weapons, he had sold previously and was going to sell now it made sense.

"What crystals do you have?"

"Last time I checked we had stock of the Air, Earth, and Creation crystals. Air and Earth both cost 500 Leones whereas Creation will cost 1 Sol."

"I'll take the air crystal please."

"Alright, you just need to put your card down here." The noble pointed towards a platform that was very similar to the one in the Sun and the Stars restaurant. After putting his card on James rechecked his balance and saw it had gone down by 500 Leones instantly.

"Pleasure doing business with you." James finally left with a massive smile on his face and saw a notification he had stuck up on the system interface update.
