Quickly, Angelize dashed to a side.
Behind her back, she could hear the screams of people. They were running and scattering away in every direction.
Angelize perceptions told her that she was being followed. But she never stopped to take a look back. She continued running putting her full might.
Four or five people were after her. She had sensed it.
She had just run a kilometer away from the initial point when suddenly multiple bullets were fired with great precision and everyone of them passed inches away from Angelize. Angelize heart leaped. She narrowly dodged them with her wavering movements.
A little slip and they would have hit her at fatal points.
At that point she decided to enter the slums at the side of the road she was running.
By now she had known that those were professionals. And she was not very happy to learn that. And they also had guns on the top of that. The best she could do for now was to run.
Angelize was smaller and faster than them. With her agile movements, after a series of erratically entering narrow streets, she had left them far behind. And she was also the one who was aware of the maze of those narrow streets and muddy houses.
So they lost the tract of her.
Those men in black stopped reluctantly once they couldn't find her anymore.
"Scatter around in the diameter of five kilometers. She couldn't have gone far", one of them that had a scar along his eye and appeared to be their leader spat.
Others nodded and scattered in different directions.
Who could it have been this time?
Angelize silently wondered.
Her so called father? Carter family?
It was not the first time she had been chased by professionals.
If Carter family then how did they discover it was her?
But in the narrow streets, she never stopped running. The only way of keeping one self from being discovered was to stay on the run under these conditions and get as far away as possible. And those slums were not the most safe place. She had only entered to make them lose sight of her. Now she had to find a safe place to hide until the matter was over.
Suddenly one of the men emerged in front of her out of a corner with his gun directly pointing at her. Dressed in black, a grave expression filled his face as he was ready to shot her any moment.
Angelize was startled.
It all happened in seconds.
The road was straight and narrow. Now if she was to turn away and run from that gunman by reversing her course, she couldn't find a hiding before he shot her. She couldn't make it in time to the next turn and would have already been shot.
Just as she approached him, out of impulse, she whirled and kicked that man's hands.
He pulled the trigger.
A fire emerged out of the muzzle and a bang was heard.
But the bullet didn't hit the target.
Bullet passed cms away from her and pierced the ground.
And the gun went flying away from that man and landed meters away.
The man cursed and charged at her.
Angelize threw another kick at the man but he was fast. Her kick was blocked when the man placed his fists in front of his face as a shield. At the same time he grabbed her ankle and threw the weightless girl to a side.
Angelize back hit the wall of the narrow street.
He had to admit that the girl technique was unique. Her kick was exceptionally powerful and if not for his timely defence, he would have been knocked out once her foot would have made contact with his head.
Angelize realized that she could probably hold him up only for a couple of minutes but if his other fellows were to arrive then surely she was no match for so many of them.
She came up with a plan.
She placed her foot on the wall, climbed up and charged back at him, using the support of wall and enhancing her might with it, her feet landed at the side of his head.
The man saw her coming at her and quickly blocked her attack but at the same her other feet jerked and hit precisely at his temple. He heard ringing in his ears and was puzzled for a while. He staggered back. That one was unpredictable for the man. Maybe because he had just effortlessly thrown her away and didn't expect her to counterback using the support of wall.
And Angelize took this opportunity to run in other direction.
When the man eyes gained focus again, he didn't waste his time to pick up his gun and aimed at her several times.
Blast!

But it was impossible to focus on her.
She was not running straight but in a zig-zag pattern intentionally to confuse someone who aimed at her yet so fast.
She jumped on the wall and in seconds disappeared once again.
But today she was not going to escape them.
The man smirked and contacted his fellows through his earpiece.
