After being home for a whole month, Mua Kong had to leave again for another three months.
After Mua Kong had been gone for two months, Hli Ja started feeling more and more tired. She started feeling sensitive to smell and not eat as much. One morning she could not get out of bed. It was then that she knew what was wrong with her. She had only heard from her Grandma of pregnant women but she has not had her period for over two months and her symptoms seems to correlate. A sense of warmth and happiness overcame through her even though she does not feel good at the moment. She asked one of the maids to bring her some clear broth soups. Though she knows that it would be hard to drink the soup with how she is feeling, she is determined to be as healthy as possible.
At the end of the third month, Mua Kong came back home. While embracing her, he realized how much weights Hli Ja had lost. He stared at her feeling concerned, he asked, "Are you ill? Why are you so skinny?"
Surprised and not sure how she's going to break the news to him, she replied, "Mm.. a little. I've not been well." As soon as she finished the sentence, he stood up while holding her in his arms and walked towards the bed. He gently laid her on the bed, covered her up and told her to rest for a bit. He did not even give her a chance to continue, he walked out of the room to take care of some things.
Mua Kong went outside to find Yee Len and told Yee Len go summoned the Palace physician to come check on Hli Ja. After Yee Len left, he ordered Chue Yi to have the cook make some clear broth soups and brew some herbal medicines and to bring it into the bedroom.
After sometimes, the Palace Physician arrived with Yee Len. The physician greeted Mua Kong and was led to the bedroom where Hli Ja was. Hli Ja had knocked out as she's been very low on energy lately and it does not take much for her to fall asleep.
They all entered the room and the commotion woke Hli Ja up. Feeling a little fuzzy, she tried to push herself up from the bed and with a confused look, she asked, "What is going on?"
"I have the Palace physician here to check up on you," Mua Kong replied.
Surprised, Hli Ja opened her mouth about to intervene, but Mua Kong told her to be still. She knew why she is ill and did not get the chance to tell Mua Kong. Now all she could do is comply quietly. She lowered her head down and did not say anything and allow the doctor to check on her.
Shortly after examining Hli Ja, the doctor put everything away and looked up to Mua Kong with a big smile, "Congratulation my Lord, her highness is pregnant. She just needs plenty of rest, nutrient food and after sometimes, her symptoms will subside."
A wave of excitement penetrated through Mua Kong's heart. He nodded to the physician and signaled everyone to go out. After the door was shut, he slowly walked up Hli Ja and give her a great big hug feeling relieved that she did not have any serious illness and also excited that she is bearing his child.
Still being embraced, Hli Ja whispered softly to Mua Kong, "Sorry, I knew about it. I just didn't get the chance to tell you earlier."
"Mm.. it's ok... Hli Ja..." Mua Kong murmured.
"Hm.." She murmured back.
After a moment, Mua Kong asked, "Do you regret being with me?"
Surprised, she replied, "Such things have never crossed my mind. Why?"
"Because sometimes I do, every time when I have to leave. I feel like you deserve so much more than a husband who is rarely ever home. You've never complained and always stood by me silently. If you are unhappy, promise me, you will tell me," Mua Kong explained while holding her closer and tighter.
Those words touched Hli Ja deeply. She chuckled and reassured, "Since you entered my life, there has not been a day I was not happy. I will stand next to you for as long as you allow me too."
Those words of Hli Ja send warmth to Mua Kong's heart, he said softly, "Thank you for being so wonderful to me." She has been so kind, patience, and silently just believed and followed him.
Hli Ja got out of Mua Kong's embraced, gazed at him as she wrapped her arms around his neck. She leaned in closer, pecked his cheek, and teased, "Hmm... shouldn't that me my line?"
Mua Kong arched his brows as Hli Ja's surprised attacked, he smiled and squinted at her, "Don't tempt me. You are not feeling good at the moment," Mua Kong warned.
Hli Ja laughed and let go of her arms around Mua Kong's neck.
Lights out, scene nineteen: Two months gone by appeared on the screen
The night before Mua Kong have to leave again, the couple in love stayed up all night embracing each other.
In a spacious room with a fire pit burning illuminating the room, Mua Kong was sitting on a chair parallel to the fireplace while Hli Ja was sitting on his laps facing the fireplace. It was winter season and the nights can get cold. The fireplace was on to keep the room warm.
