Everyone in the huge event hall turned towards the magnificent figure who had just spoken.

Samantha and Hannah were on the right side of the room and some of their classmates have started to crowd around them because of Lauren Wang.

When Samantha saw Grandfather Cho walking towards them, her eyes flickered as she started to wonder why Daniel's grandfather suddenly arrived in their high school reunion.

The resort is indeed owned by Cho Corporation and it is one of their biggest investment in almost ten years. During that time, it was still Daniel's father who had started the project and it was one of his biggest accomplishment — it was obvious to see with how well it flourished over the first few years until now.

Naturally, Grandfather Cho helped his son using his old connections in order to make the project a success. And since he contributed a big part of it, he had always received news on whatever was happening in the resort.

After Assistant Ahn arranged Samantha's accommodation, security and everything else that Daniel Cho had instructed him, Mr. Jay So called Grandfather Cho to inform him about it.

The old man was not surprised about how his grandson had arranged Samantha's stay, after all, she is his precious wife. However, the arrangement of security was a little more than what he thought was necessary. After thinking through, Grandfather Cho asked further information on what else Daniel had ordered.

Earlier that afternoon, after Samantha had settled in the suite, the general manager called Grandfather Cho and told him about the arrival of his granddaughter-in-law.

Grandfather Cho then asked Mr. Jay So to give him updates about the happening on her stay there as he wanted to know why Daniel had tightened the security around her.

An idea came to him and he suddenly wanted to go and see for himself. His house was already in the countryside but it was on the same side as the resort so it did not take him a long time to get there.

When he arrived at the resort, the first thing that he wanted to check was the security. He was then lead to an office on the same floor as the venue of Samantha's high school reunion.

All the personnel who were stationed inside the event hall had earpieces on with them for faster communication and the one who was standing near Samantha reported back the commotion as soon as Lauren started insulting her.

Hearing the report, Grandfather Cho's expression went gloomy. Without a word, he turned around and marched out of the office and headed towards the event hall.

"Elder Cho, where are you going?" The head of the security team and the general manager called him but he had already walked out of the room.

Grandfather Cho had not heard how Samantha was insulted but the as soon as he heard the report, his was suddenly enraged and the instinct of a protective grandfather kicked in.

It did not matter that Samantha did not have the blood of a Cho in her. All that mattered was that she was family and is now a 'Cho'.

'Who dares to insult my granddaughter?' he repeatedly asked in his thoughts as he walked hastily towards the event hall, Mr. Jiang along with a few of his bodyguards following behind him.

Opening the door of the hall, he took in the music and the lively atmosphere of the party. As he scanned his eyes from left to right of the grand hall, Mr. Jiang whispered something into his ear. The old man's head snapped towards the right and he instantly found the familiar appearance of his granddaughter-in-law.

She was surrounded by a sea of people that had different expressions on their faces when they started to believe what Lauren was saying.

Without delay, Grandfather Cho walked towards the crowd to see for himself. At this point, Lauren Wang had already caught the attention of a lot of people from around them. And just in time when she called Samantha a gold digger, the old man was already within earshot.

His ears rang the moment that he heard the offensive word. In anger, he lifted his cane up and hit the floor angrily three times.

He continued to walk whilst he bellowed, "Who dares to call her a gold digger? Have you gone tired of living?" Grandfather Cho's voice was loud and clear for everyone's attention to turn towards him. The music died down and they all watched as the old man walked closer towards the ladies.

Samantha, Hannah, and Logan were confused as to why he unexpectedly appeared. Even the two employees from Cho Corporation who were on the dance floor saw him and their eyes grew wide in surprise as they rarely get to see one of the legends in their field.

Lauren jumped, surprised by his frightening voice but when she saw that it was an old man, she somehow wanted to laugh.

"Isn't that Elder Cho?" A whisper was heard from the side and Lauren had picked up on the last name.

'Ah… so this is that old man?' she was already rejoicing in her head. It turned out that the rumor was true after all, Samantha was indeed married to an old man. Judging by his humble outfit, she had already concluded that although they say that he might be rich, he must be stingy. 'Maybe that's why Samantha is wearing that cheap looking bracelet.'

Oliver Su who was only watching since Lauren walked towards them, hastened towards the commotion when Grandfather Cho yelled.

Thinking that she had a higher status than everyone, Lauren's useless brain gave her a boost. "Samantha, aren't you going to introduce us?" she probed.

Samantha raised a brow at her, 'Why is she being stupid?' she pondered. She had started to think if Lauren was on drugs because of the senseless things that she said since earlier.

Grandfather Cho scanned Lauren from head to toe and as if he was an expert in knowing the person at one glance, he already believed that she was a spoiled brat from an upper-class family.

"Are you the one who dared to call her that derogatory term? Whose family are you from?" the old man demanded.

The sound of his voice was that of an authoritarian. She felt the same feeling whenever her grandfather would scold her as a child. Lifting her chin up to show that she was not afraid, Lauren crossed her arms like she was protecting herself. "Wang. I am from the Wang Family."

Grandfather Cho scoffed at her response. He knows Elder Wang, but even that person would show respect to him, how could he have a granddaughter like her?

"Take back your words and I will let you off just this once," the old man commanded. He was willing to let her go for the sake of Elder Wang.

"Take back my words?" she chuckled, "Why should I? Did she not marry you only because of your money?" she bravely asked.

Grandfather Cho's expression turned dark. He did not know whether to laugh or smack her with his cane. 'Marry my granddaughter-in-law? Is she mental?'
