Trident's anniversary celebration went on for hours and the live music and entertainment were spectacular. The spacious hall was decorated elegantly and was brightly lit. Food tables were on the right and it was filled with delicious canapes, snacks, and dessert. Waiters flocked everywhere with trays on their hand to serve drinks to the guests.
The employees were very satisfied. Compared to their previous anniversaries, this time was a huge celebration because they finally got to see their big boss. And on top of that, their company will be facing a big change because of the partnership.
Together with Alexander, Samantha met with some of their investors and old clients. There were only very few who knew her because of her father; the others weren't aware that she was the young miss of the Kim family.
Her smile had been frozen on her face that her facial muscles started to hurt. She stepped aside and went over to her family which was seated not very far from the stage.
"I'm very proud of you, princess.", Mr. Kim said to Samantha when she came closer.
Samantha felt her father's warmth as he side hugged her. She smiled gently, "Thank you, daddy."
There were only very few people who noticed that the financial magnate Mr. Kim was there. They didn't know that Samantha was his daughter and thought that he may just be one of the investors or a client. The reporters have already left when the party began as they were in a hurry to do a write up for the next day's publication. So her identity as the young miss of Kimsun Electronics was still concealed.
Samantha's mom looked at her daughter lovingly, "My baby is all grown up. I've noticed that you have changed when you came back. I was worried at first but I can see that you are glowing and you look more confident. It makes me very happy."
She gave her mother's hand a squeeze and the three of them talked for a while.
Seo Joon and Hannah, on the other hand, were still not talking to each other. Seo Joon was on the same table as their parents but he was just sitting there looking at his phone and quietly drinking wine.
Hannah was somewhere on the other side of the room talking to a man who had been smiling the entire time he was talking with her.
Seo Joon would glance her way from time to time and see the way the guy would look at her. 'Tch, look at this man. I'm way more handsome than he is but she's enjoying his company.', he sneered in his thoughts. 'He's not even tall, what does she see in him?'
He wanted to get some air so he got up from his seat and stepped out of the hall. He walked farther and found his way at the balcony, he took out a cigarette and lit it up. It was quiet where he was standing and the only sound he heard was from the car horns and a faint ambulance siren from below him.
He quietly smoked and a yawn escaped his mouth.
"You know, smoking is bad for you.", a female's voice sounded from the corner of the balcony and it startled him.
"Holy sh-!", Seo Joon turned his head to the side and saw an attractive woman; she was tall but not taller than him.
She laughed when she saw his expression, "I'm sorry. I didn't know that you were easily frightened." she said as she walked towards him.
Seo Joon had a blank expression while he watched the woman come closer, "I'm not... but I thought I was alone here. I didn't notice you over there.", he said.
"Yeah, well. I wasn't really interested in coming to the party but my dad forced me to come.", she leaned on the railing.
The woman had an A-line bob blonde hair with faint red accent, it looked really playful, and she wore a black body con dress.
Seo Joon noticed her pretty face and hearing her statement made him intrigued, "Really? If you hadn't come here tonight, what would you have been doing?"
"Hmmm.. let's see,", She tapped her hands on the railings and bit her lip. Looking at her watch, she spoke, "At this hour, I'd be on my bed with my comfy pajamas and binge watch on Barry Allen's smile.",she laughed, and her laugh was contagious that Seo Joon started laughing as well.
"I didn't peg you as someone who enjoys watching superhero series.", he observed.
The woman turned to him with a curious expression on her face, "Huh, what do you peg me for then?", a smile formed on her lips.
Seo Joon paused before he continued, "Probably romance or thriller. But hey, The Flash is cool. I'm a fan, actually.", he openly admitted.
The woman smiled her pearly whites and extended her hand, "Becca, Becca Wise."
He glanced at her hand first, and he wiped his right hand on his pants before he received her handshake and introduced himself, "Seo Joon Kim. It's a pleasure to meet you, Ms. Wise."
"Likewise. Wait... Kim? How are you related to the CEO of Trident?", she was intrigued.
"She's my younger sister."
"Oh wow, right... now I can see the resemblance. Your sister is really pretty.", she praised.
"Are you saying I'm pretty too?", Seo Joon had a grin on his face. It was so refreshing to talk to her, he thought that she was a really interesting woman.

Her face twinkled, "Please call me Becca.", she took out a card from her purse and inserted it in Seo Joon's front pocket before she turned around and left. "I'll see you around."
