Chapter 36     30 Years Old

Fatty didn’t lower their speed and Jiang Han did not say anything anymore. With such a heavy question on his mind, it was likely not possible for him to seriously answer such a question in such a short period of time.

After a while, Jiang Han let out a sigh in relieve. Not all questions required an answer. Just because he couldn’t answer the question now, doesn’t mean that he would never be able to. So let it be, if this was Fatty’s sense of worth, then there is no harm in accompanying him this once, is there?

The vehicle behind was never able to overtake them. Jiang Han sat quietly in the passenger seat and watched Fatty in action. Every movement of his was beautifully coordinated and the huge off-roader performed perfectly under his capable hands. Indeed, it was as he advertised.

About five minute later, the vehicle behind eventually slowed down. The driver probably felt like there was a stubborn rock in front of them and knew they could not force their way through and so they could only choose to back down.

It was only at this point that Fatty was finally able to relax and catch his breathe. Fatty was no longer tensed and even started to slow down to about 100 as this speed was quite normal for a vehicle on the highway. They also happened to drive passed a speed camera at this moment.

While Fatty was fully concentrating on driving, Jiang Han had been carefully observing him so he wasn’t sure if they got caught on any speed camera when they were speeding earlier. However, based on Fatty family’s situation, even if they were caught, it wouldn’t be much of an issue as long as no one got hurt.

Even after they slowed down, Jiang Han did not say anything. He lowered his head in deep thought and only he himself knew what was on his mind. After a while, Fatty was completely relaxed with only one hand on the wheel. He turned on the car stereo and a gentle melody could be heard.

“Big brother, I’m really sorry that I made you suffer through such a dangerous thing.” Fatty took the initiative to break the silence.

“It’s fine. It’s my bad for trying to stop you before fully understanding your situation.” Jiang Han shook his head. Fatty did not need to apologise in this instance.

“Anyone would have done what you did in that sort of situation. We’ve only got this one life and most people would’ve treasured it.” Fatty was rather relaxed at this speed and he would even occasionally turned to look at Jiang Han.

“Your thoughts earlier was rather intriguing, do you mind elaborating on it?” Jiang Han said and changed the topic.

“Ah? Big brother, after the earlier incident, you’re still willing to be my friend?” Jiang Han was quite shocked to hear this from Fatty. Fatty previously had some friends who all chose to distance themselves away from him without a word after certain various incidents.

“What are you saying, of course you’re still a friend.” Jiang Han didn’t quite understand Fatty’s situation and was rather baffled when he heard him.

However, Jiang Han thought what he said was quite normal and did not expect that when Fatty heard him, he was moved to tears. It wasn’t an exaggeration to say that there were continuous drops of tears flowing down his face.

Jiang Han did not know what to do when he saw Fatty’s reaction and could only sit quietly on the side. Not long later, Fatty said with a shaking voice, “Big brother, you will forever be my big brother.”

“Ha ha, how dramatic. So how about it, can you tell me your story now?” Jiang Han smiled and tried to gently diffuse the awkward atmosphere.

Fatty finally stopped tearing after a while. He was then able to speak properly and tell his story.

Fatty’s name was Liangmu. He was born a blue blood in Jiangsu City to a distinguished family. This was obvious if one saw their family’s huge land and manor in the city. He’d received a prestigious education and lived a luxurious lifestyle. He had an excellent upbringing and his life had been exceptional thus far.

Initially, his life was perfect. Ever since he was young, he had nothing but the best and that was also naturally true while he grew older. Except for his character and personality, he had nothing in common with ordinary folks. There was nothing that they could have to compare with him.

Not capabilities, not knowledge, not temperament and neither was experience. No matter what it was, he was naturally born gifted. Later, when he was older and famous, and when he was capable of taking on his family’s business, his father would essentially hand over the baton. Then his whole life would be set, from his birth to his death, he would be at the pinnacle.

However, reality was cruel and ugly. When Liangmu was 10 years old, he was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect. This defect of his would not bring about any visual effect on his body and would not barred him from living a seemingly normal life.

The only problem with Liangmu’s congenital defect was that it severely limited his lifespan. After a series of analysis, it was determined that his lifespan would not exceed 30 years old. If he was fortunate, then he most likely would be able to live to 30.

This congenital defect of his shorten his lifespan considerably, but it also gave him something in return. First of all, before his heart failed, his heart would be stronger than the average person’s by three to five times. According to an expert, the only explanation for this, was that it was just the nature of his defect.

When a normal heart’s capability is increased several times over, it would shorten its lifespan. Just like with a piece of machine, the harder you push it, the quicker it breaks down.

After Liangmu found out about this problem, he began to change. The breakdown in communication with his parents was just a small part of this. Between the age of 10 and 15, Liangmu was crazy about exercising and working out. Because of his strengthen heart, the results of his workouts were extraordinary.

As a 15 year old, his physique was comparably a lot stronger than his peers. With his huge strength, he started to challenge all sorts of extreme sports. It was as if he was challenging the limits of what was humanly possible.

This lasted for three years and because his family was extremely wealthy, when his parents found out about his condition, they initially tried to stop him to no effect and so they could only support him as best they could. He travelled all around the world and he had tried challenging all kinds of limits that was humanely possible.

Liangmu was quite a famous figure within the extreme sports community. It was as if nothing could fazed him. Because he was different from the general masses, everyone else who did extreme sports were trying to see what their limits was, whereas Liangmu wanted to bring out a higher realm.

Perhaps, with this sort of crazy, almost obsessive way of thinking, no one else could enter Liangmu’s world. He had no friends, not a single one. There were those that tried, but when they came to know of his way of thinking, they all left. It felt like no one was willing to be friends with such a lunatic.

After three years, Liangmu returned to Jiangsu City. He stopped exercising and was instead crazy about eating. He feasted on whatever delicious food he could get his hands on. Within two years, his body increased like mad and his physique changed drastically. Visually, he looked like a big round fatty. Despite this, his crazy way of thinking did not diminish, if anything, it only increased.

His relationship with his parents deteriorated even more. Actually, it was more like his relationship with everyone else was equally bad. Everyone that knew him was reluctant to approach him, but it did not bothered him. He did as he pleased without a care in the world.

He was now 21 years old. In the past year or so, he started to get crazy about cars. Over this year, he had became a terrifying extreme racer just as Jiang Han had witnessed.

It was also this year, that his life collided with Jiang Han’s.
