When the host began announcing the first item for the auction, Zunnie's heart started pounding. She took a sharp breath and impatiently waited for him to call her name. She bit her bottom lip and squeezed her eyes shut.

However, she was relieved when he said…

"...an emerald bracelet, worth seven hundred and fifty thousand dollars…"

The bid started off at nine hundred thousand dollars... the bracelet was immediately sold for one million dollars. The guests were astounded when an older man who looked to be in his seventies purchased the bracelet. No-one knew that he came especially for this bracelet. Being a collector, he had his eyes on this bracelet for years. When he heard it was going to be auctioned off, he made sure he got an invitation. He was now delighted as the host moved on to the next item.

As the auction went on Zunnie slowly relaxed. 'Maybe they were playing a prank on me,' she couldn't help thinking.

Yet still, to the end of the auction, she sent Sanua a text...

"So, my dad and brother made plans to auction a diner date with me. Please help! Don't want to end up spending an hour eating with an odd ball. Please buy me!"

"Haha…lol, your family sure likes to tease you. Sorry but you're too expensive…I'm not buying"

"I'm begging you San…"

"Sorry babe, but your dad will kill me if I intervene...He warned me earlier not to even blink during the auction. ''Don't you dare blink during the auction today" …his exact words. Thought he was joking…but I guess not. Haha so funny, fighting!"

Zunnie was lost for words…she wanted to cry. They were having fun at her discomfort.

"FINE…!!"

"Someone's angry...hehe." Sanua loved Zunnie but she was excited as well. They had been friends for so long and Zunnie was still an untouched flower.

In high school, Zunnie was popular among the boys, but to her education had been a priority. Sometimes she doubted that Zunnie had a heart. She hoped whoever was interested tonight would sweep her off her feet like in the romance movies.

She was smiling as she made eye contact with Zunnie who was glaring fire at her.

Zunnie was livid because her dad threatened her best friend. Now she had no help. She sighed and began praying.

Time went by and finally it was her turn.

"Our final item on our auction list is a dinner to get to know the face behind the Bai Children's Hospital. She has been busy working behind the scenes ensuring the success of the hospital…the brilliant and beautiful young madam of the Bai family, Zunnie Bai."

When Zunnie heard her name, her heart was ready to leave her chest and run off. The only time she had to stand before a crowd had been during her valedictorian speech in college. She nervously stood up and walked to the stage.

"One million..." Sanua shouted before she even reached the stage. Everyone laughed at her friends' eagerness.

Wan Bai turned to glare in the direction Sanua was sitting...Sanua felt a chill run down her spine. Zunnie couldn't help but grin as she caught her dad's reaction.

However, the joy was short lived.

"A hundred and fifty million…" a male voice across the room shouted. He had no idea the Bai family had such a beauty. He smirked as he thought about winning her.

Malon Nang was an actor from Bai Entertainment Corp. Zunnie stood there flabbergasted hearing him raise the bid. Even though he was attractive, she was quite familiar with his playboy character. He seemed to appear way too often in the media and Zunnie was not fond of the media. Thinking about it, she couldn't help but groan inside and she pray for a savior.

'Spending one minute next to this flirt would drive me crazy…San save me.' She swept her eyes to where Sanua was, only to be left with a shrug from her friend. Disappointment filled Zunnie's delicate heart.

Outside the dining hall, Alex was on a call with his secretary. The construction company they were collaborating with on the hotel construction, had a problem. The steel they ordered would be a day late due to bad weather. Understanding the incident was unavoidable, Alex gave instructions to push the construction back until they got the materials. He then hung up the phone and went back to his seat.

He had no idea what was being auctioned but when he looked towards the stage, he was stunned to see his beauty standing next to the host.

As he took a sip from his whiskey, a male voice behind him shouted, "A hundred and fifty million…"

He turned and saw Malon Nang staring in the direction of the stage with a smirk.

An angry fire rose in his chest. He had no idea what was happening but still shouted, "two hundred and fifty million…"
