After Cally left and the tail lights were no longer visible, Marcus turned to go back to his office. There were still a lot of people leaving Clan Home that night and the next morning. There were more non-essential personnel to move out. He needed to check on the travel documentation for a few dozen people as he mulled over what he still needed to get done this evening. He looked up and saw his way blocked. Jessie and Abby were standing on the top step looking down at him.

Their arms were crossed in front of their chests and they were glaring at him. They looked like matching bookends. He was sure this was the look parents gave to the boyfriend when he brought their little girl home late. He was secretly amused. "Yes? Is there something I can help you two with?"

"What are your intentions?" It was Jessie, she always seemed to take the lead and was the more dominant of the two. "My intentions?" Marcus seemed to be confused for a moment, "Ah! You mean Cally?" This was like an old TV sitcom. He could take a few minutes to enjoy this. Without any emotions showing, he stared down the two baby werewolves. As expected they couldn't take his stare and looked away but refused to budge. "Cally goes on one, ONE date with you and comes home smelling of sex! So yeah! What are your intentions?"

Under Marcus' scrutiny Abby shivered but held firm. She didn't think she could handle being near this male if not for Jessie standing beside her. She used all her inner strength to say to alpha male, "Cally is too special of a person and doesn't deserve to be some kind of plaything." Marcus considered the two girls that were shivering without being cold. "Do you think I could do something to Cally that she didn't want?" Abby shook her head in the negative. She had said her single question and was currently unable to say more. She was trying hard not to let her teeth chatter together in fright.

Jessie said with some strength, "We know you can't easily take advantage of her but what we want to know is; was this a one time deal? Or are you going to continue to see her? This was fast, too fast. She is...special." Jessie fell back on to Abby's words. How to describe someone that is a gazillion years old and as new as a baby?

Marcus had been very busy since he woke up this morning. But last night was so fresh in his mind. Her scent was in his head. Whenever he was not concentrating, her taste would fill his mouth. He would have been happy to have stayed in bed with her all day, probably several days. He looked down at his feet, he was happy when he woke up. And he would have been happy to stay with her. When was the last time he could say with certainty he was happy? He didn't know. So he looked at the two before him. He knew they were practically holding each other up in order to stand before him without Cally's presence.

So he gave them his truth or as much as he was willing to share. "She makes me happy. I hope I made her happy. I know you still think very much like ordinary humans but wolves usually don't over think things like bed partners. I also think you should ask her what her intentions are towards me. " He walked up the steps until he was on the same step as them and looked down on them from his superior height, " Is she not the cougar in this scenario?" He then walked away.

They did not move a muscle until they heard the doors close behind Marcus. Then Abby grabbed Jessie around the waist and Jessie hugged Abby's shoulders. "God! That was scary! He's scary! What does Cally see in him? I thought he would kill us! It was your idea! When did I ever have good ideas? I need a drink. I need chocolate! We need chocolate ice cream! Yeah that would work! " Calming down as they talked over each other. They pulled apart and straightened their clothes and shook their hair to put themselves back in order. Kind of like a dog shaking to remove water. "Okay, let's get Sarah, chocolate ice cream, and some brandy." said Jessie as she grabbed Abby's hand to walk back inside. "That's sounds like a plan. We need chips too." Abby and Jessie held hands and ran inside like two little girls afraid of the dark.
