"Cally do you know what happened? Are you okay?" Renard asked like a worried Mother hen. he had stepped back per Cally's request but was still anxious despite her coming to. Marcus had quit trying to wrestle the tarp away and stood beside the blue bundle on the ground that was Cally.

"Cally." Marcus said this in his most repressive voice. She needed to come out of her cocoon and they needed to get a move on before anyone found this spot. Suddenly two fingers appeared. Cally ripped a small hole in the tarp and all Marcus could see was one beautiful blue tinted hazel eye.

"What?" Cally was greatly aggrieved. She had been shot, her throat ripped out, she had sand down her butt , blood matted hair and 'OH MY GOD!' "Look At My Boots! My awesome American Legend Rider Handmade Leather Skull Boots! Crap, I died with my boots on! They're ruined! Waah! Have you ever tried to get blood and brains off of leather? Have you? Have you?" Cally still had not come out of her tarp cocoon but was laying on the ground with her feet extended into the air so she could look at her beloved boots.

Marcus pinched the area between his eyes and sighed. "Cally what the hell happened? What happened to your easy peasy plan?" The boots that were covered in drying blood dropped to the ground with a thud. "Those bastards shot me. What do you think happened?" Cally looked at Marcus with her one eye shining through the tarp. Musing to herself, is this not plain to see? Is Marcus being deliberately dense?

"They said you moved in the last split second, obscuring their aim. That's how you were hit. They also said that Ivar was moving too fast and hit you before they could get off another round." Cally poked her fingers through the tarp and tore the hole slightly bigger. Marcus could now see both her eyes but nothing else of her face. "Oh? And they couldn't have shot him when he cleared the tree line? Please."

Turning her face away, she stared up at the sky. "Marcus you brought a security team with you. Between them, the pilot and yourself, you have Eagle and the spotter in a position similar to shooting ducks in the barrel. Those two might have tried to shoot their way out or fight their way out but they are over by the chopper. Their fastest getaway is already blocked and their guns are too far away in the SUV. Why don't you tell me what happened?"

Marcus looked over at the would be assassins. As soon as Cally moved and spoke he and his men had been watching the sniper pair carefully. Their tensed and desperate gazes had not been missed. Jason, one of Marcus' right hand men had been casually standing with his M16 pointing directly at them in his crossed arms. Eagle easily saw that it was in full auto mode and the safety was off. Sighing at the betrayal; Marcus looked down at Cally and asked, "I know what happened but how or rather why did you let it happen?"

Not bothering to look at him Cally lay on the ground and crossed her ankles. Addressing Renard, Cally spoke, "Renard, Honey give me the definition of a crime." Renard startled at the question and thought quickly. "A crime is when someone breaks an established law. Umm this is the answer you wanted, yes?" Looking over at the big softie, Cally smiled. "Yes, you are exactly correct. Turning her eyes back to Marcus she asked him, "So let's say someone plans the biggest bank robbery in history. All the details are worked out to the last second. But it never happens. The crooks decide it's not worth the risk. Have they broken any laws?"

"You knew they were thinking of trying to kill you? And you just let them?" Marcus was angry. Everyone could see and smell his fury. Cally was amused, "You are pissed at me more than you are at them? You are more upset I let them do something stupid rather than tell them not to do something stupid? They played their hand and they lost. I knew as soon as I got in the car with them this was a possibility. As soon as they shot me I knew the most likely outcome."

Renard had just realized Cally had planned all this. He was stunned at her strength and courage. But he was also the new council president and had to act like it. He turned towards the chopper and the former French snipers. He was about to order them restrained for questioning when he saw Eagle grab his side Ka-Bar combat knife and plunge it into the heart of his best friend. His motions were quick and he moved without hesitation.

Jason fired immediately on full auto into Eagle, aka Léon César's head, killing him almost instantly. Cally straightened out her legs and sighed, "This was the outcome I expected. Death before dishonor. Okay boys, I'm a gonna leave you guys to the clean up. I'll see you back at Clan Home." After wiggling around under the tarp for a couple of minutes a sleek and beautiful clean wolf appeared from under the tarp. Stretching out her front legs she dug her impressive claws into the ground and stretched out her long body. She then shook all over like a wet dog.

Seeing she was already leaving in this form Marcus called her to stop. "Cally I'm sorry..." Her thick luxurious winter coat had not started it's summer shed yet. She was the most beautiful white color with just hints of dark grey on her back and tail. She walked over and rubbed her head against his thigh. She looked up at him and then pushed against him with her head. She then turned and ran towards the ocean disappearing from view. Speaking to himself, "I assume that means get to work."
