Once Cally got the girls in their Gray wolf forms settled on a heavy blanket in the back seat of the car, she wasn't worried about shedding but wolf claws and leather seating, she quickly got behind the steering wheel. She had already driven the car to here so she definitely remembered how to drive. She planned to drive up to Clan Home using Route 99. With one last glance at the already sleeping wolves she started the car.

The girls were more like canines at the moment, so they were not focused on their recent horrors. Cally smiled grimly, if she hadn't done a blood exchange with them while they were still passed out, their being calm placid wolves couldn't have happened. When Jocko had changed them to play with before he killed them they had taken on his bloodline. Mad dogs breed mad dogs. * sigh* Instead Cally had made them part of her wolf pack or more specifically her clan. A wolf pack could be a small grouping of wolves, say less the 25 members. Or a pack could be part of a clan of wolves that had many packs under their wings. Some clans could number into the thousands worldwide. Cally had just lost Olen and she had already brought in two girls. She needed to get to Clan Home and take care of Olen. Olen was one of her first thoughts when she woke up as Cally. He was one of her last thoughts before she ceased to be Becca.

Cally loved this car already, it had such a beautiful sounding engine. The cream leather interior was so new and smelled lovely. She hoped she didn't get pulled over on the way. No license and registration! But just in case she had mangled her old license into a lump of plastic. Ha! she would say one of the girls chewed it! Cally drove up Route 99 towards her destination; stopping for fuel and letting the beautiful tawny colored wolves out to stretch and take care of business. Oh, that was funny the first time the girls whined in the back seat to let her know they needed to potty! They were thinking in human terms and were conveying they needed a bathroom. She almost had to change herself into her wolf form to show them how to squat and pee!

Driving up 99 she talked to the girls whether they were asleep or awake. Cally talked about what it would be like to be a wolf, she talked about being a werewolf and she talked about living for hundreds of years. Jessie and Abby heard some of it and understood even less in their current forms. but it didn't matter, Cally's voice was so soothing. Sometimes she turned on the radio and listened to oldies, sometimes the newest chart singles from every music style. Cally explained she didn't remember what she liked. So the wolves had to suffer through Opera to rap to hip hop. Cally tortured them flipping through all of the Sirius XM stations. Finding Sirius XM in the car brought wild cackling from their driver. "Dog star indeed!"

Cally was stopped for gas. She tried to find the least populated places to stop. Back seat wolves were a problem but letting them change back to human was less of an option. They needed to fully recover their injuries and they had had internally injuries that would kill the normal human. At one such pit stop for fuel Call had gone into the station to pay for the gas and buy snacks and drinks. On her return there was a crowd around her beloved bike. The tinted windows were not quite good enough to hide the girls from prying eyes. So she wasn't surprised to hear, "Wolves!" when she walked out.

Cally had mentally prepared. She occasionally lived by the adage "prepare for the flood and you won't get wet". Sometimes it was fun to see what fate would dump on you too. But she figured the girls would prefer avoidance. As she leisurely strolled back to the car she said, "Nah, they are Tibetan Mastiffs or Canis lupus familiaris." "Are you guys crazy? transporting real wolves? IN A BMW?" Totally faking them out.

Cally took two days to make the drive. And the scene at the gas pumps was repeated a few times. There were the other occasion bumps in the road as someone wanted to buy her bike, buy her car buy her"doggs" and even two offers to buy her for the night. But lying to people can be an art form. Cally had had millenium to train. She easily skirted problems as she neared Clan Home. Clan Home sat on several hundred acres along the California/Oregon coast. Civilisation faded away. Werewolves need large areas to run and not scare the humans. But conversely werewolves were human enough to need certain amenities. So there was a village near the closed off community that was Clan Home. The gate guards could smell the wolves in the car and easily let them through.
