"Are they really alright?" Yukimura asked worriedly, all six are obviously in so much pain.

"They have to get past through this in order for them to fully adapt to the next level of their ability. If they still get external help then, that power won't truly be theirs," Eureka replied.

All parents are present and is currently watching from the side. Eureka have told them that Raven might be able to finish his training today. The other five might be in a week. But the parents insisted that they wanted to see their kids now.

All their heads snapped to Raven when a sudden burst of energy came from him, at the same time blood came out from his mouth and wounds appeared on his body.

(Within Raven's consciousness)

<I can't even feel the tip of my fingers, the heat is too much and I am starting to lose my consciousness,> Raven thought as he dove deeper into the pit of fire.

"I just want to silently sleep. Why are you disturbing it?" suddenly a voice called out to him.

"Wha- Who are you?" Raven asked as he spanned around and looked at the man who was standing behind him. At one point he couldn't see his face, on another what he could see is his own reflection.

"I should be asking you that. I never tried to consume you, so why are you devouring me now?" his reflection replied.

"What are you talking about?"

"And what kind of magic is this? For you to actually enter this deep. Oh could it be that? Yes that has to be it," the reflection kept talking.

"I don't get what you are talking about," Raven confusedly asked, trying to ignore the burning feeling that kept becoming more intense.

"You humans have no idea what you are doing and is still doing it? How funny. Well since I haven't had a visitor in a long while, allow me to explain this to you human," the reflection mused as he squat and looked at Raven.

"I don't know who taught you this trick or magic or whatever you call it but let me tell you. I can sense that this is a world where this kind of trick weren't in practice. It seems you are experimenting."

After looking around as if he could see what was going on outside he once again looked back at Raven.

"What you are doing now is called Devour. As the word implies you are devouring your own ability in order for you to be of complete control over it. Young man, have you lost control of this in the past?"

"I have," Raven answered despite his confusion. Eureka never said anything about this.

"Yes, with devour despite you letting your emotions take over, you won't lose your control over your ability. You see we have our own consciousness as well. That when the host loses control of his mind we would act on our own. And what we are programmed to do is destruction. We would start destroying everything until the hosts' body could no longer hold on. But with this technique of devouring us, despite moving through your emotions and not your mind, we can't do anything. Do you get what I'm saying?"

"I get the gist of it."

"In a way, once you devour us, you would be able to completely unite with your ability and that would make it purer even allowing you to control the natural ones."

Raven was still absorbing this information when the reflection suddenly attacked him with a sword.

"Who taught you this? And do you really think we'd allow you to take over us? We love rampaging you see."

Raven defended with his own sword, the one he brought out when he was sparring with Theo.

"An incomplete one, so you were able to reach the point where you can even bring out the incomplete form of the weapon."

"So are you telling me that the one you're holding is the complete form?" Raven asked in return as he once again guarded from the attack of the reflection.

The sword Raven is holding is that the blade is shaped like a blazing fire. But what the reflection is holding is one where the sword has the normal blade but you could see a blazing fire within it, as if it has life itself.

"Good, you're very good. And that only means I can't dilly dally."

The reflection kept attacking, and Raven could only defend. With his weakening state he couldn't even defend properly and was attacked relentlessly.

"Too weak, you're too weak," the reflection laughed as he kept attacking.

Raven could only defend, as his consciousness kept slipping away, unknowingly snippets of Eureka trying her best in training, and her fights came to his mind.

"How pathetic, to think that I almost lost just because of this little pain. I wouldn't be able to face that girl if that happened. She had endured much more after all," he suddenly said to himself as he found the strength to fight back to the reflection.

"Try not to fight but instead keep absorbing the fire around you, once you fully absorb it then it would be much more vulnerable," he suddenly heard her voice.

<I really need to question her if I finish this,> he thought as he concentrated.

Of course he have noticed how much the pit of fire have lessened ever since he first came. He closed his eyes and allowed his sense to defend against the reflection who was baffled why he suddenly decided to remain on defence.

A little time later and, "You bastard!! How dare you absorb my fire!!" his attacks became more vicious to which Raven dodged and defend, as he remained focus on absorbing the fire.

<She actually taught us this first in preparation for this part of the training. Just how much have she planned this? How far ahead is she looking at?> Raven thought once again.

Sure enough the reflection despite rampaging and viciously attacking could no longer do anything as the fire became lesser and lesser until the last flame was absorbed. Terror was plastered on the reflection's face as Raven opened his eyes and flame could be seen burning on them.

"I feel light," Raven said as he disappeared in front of the reflection and suddenly appeared beside it.

He slashed his sword down and the reflection who was caught off guard was hit on his right arm that is holding the sword.

"You brat, how dare you," he tried picking up the sword but Raven was still faster and picked it up instead.

"You were so high and mighty while holding this. Now I know the reason why. This is light and it is even doubling my strength, no wonder you were that strong," Raven commented as he attacked non stop.

Only shrieks of the reflection echoed out until it could no longer be heard and what was left was Raven's heavy breathing.

(Outside of Raven's consciousness)

"He did it," was Eureka's comment after the burst of energy disappeared around Raven.

Soon he opened his eyes, and all his wounds have miraculously disappeared.

"What happened?" Yukimura asked.

"His body regenerated on its own. Though that is only the after effect of him completely taking over his ability," Eureka explained.

"You have a lot of explaining to do," Raven murmured as he stood up.

"That is, if I can answer your questions," Eureka answered back.

"Are you alright?" Mutsumi came close and asked Raven. She had seen the wounds appearing on her son's body and the blood coming from his mouth.

"My body have indeed regenerated mother, I even felt better. Far better from when we started one year ago," Raven answered.

Yukimura suddenly raffled Raven's hair, "You brat, to actually finish it faster. You should have just waited for them."

Raven slapped his father's hand away, "I'm not a kid."

He momentarily stopped, he felt like this had happened before.

"Come on, let's spar," Yukimura happily said.

To be honest all of them were nervous. Eureka had indeed told them that this could kill all six of them. And when they saw the wounds in Raven, they were really scared that he might indeed die. They just saw that Eureka murmured something to him before his facial expression, despite pain still visible, have actually relaxed.

"Please, the wounds might have healed but I am still tired. Allow me to rest father," Raven replied.

If this was the past him he would have go instantly but Eureka have emphasised the importance of rest and he had seen its effect as well.

"Hmmmm, good good. You have matured indeed. Go on and rest. We will be returning to our duties as well. We just checked on you all, to see that you are fine."

Before they left, each of them have thanked Eureka. They could see the danger of what they are doing but it seems that Eureka is keeping her promise of keeping them safe.

"I am just doing my duties, please don't thank me," she replied respectfully.
