The two days that passed allowed Kaoru and Akira to understand the condition of Hesperian Kingdom. They were also able to help out in some modifications of the things to be used for the daily living of the people.
Some were shocked to be suddenly helped by the adventurers. They could only say that they couldn't just sit still if they knew they can somehow help.
Afternoon of the second day, Akira just finished preparing their dinner when the door opened, "The dinner is ready, go and wash up before we- Oh my what happened?"
Just as she look towards Kaoru, she saw him carrying an unconscious woman.
"That is, after my check I saw this lady suddenly fall unconscious a few houses away, most of the people who witnessed it didn't know her either. The hospital is quite far, then I remembered that I have a doctor with me so I brought her home," Kaoru explained as he let the stranger lie down on the sofa.
Without much thought Akira checked the lady's condition, she frowned upon realizing that this young lady is actually sick.
"Go and bring her to my room. This young lady seems to have a pretty high fever," she then said to Kaoru as she went ahead and checked her things for medicine.
Kaoru without much thought brought the young lady to Akira's room. He gently placed the lady to the bed before he looked around the room. They have the same design of room but this is the first time he was inside Akira's room.
The smell of plants, no to be more precise, the smell of the herbs are faintly floating in the air. On her table were bottles of different liquids, together with books, that he was sure she didn't bring with her.
Her things were organized quite well except for her table tbat has been where she tries different types of herb.
"Geez, why is this young lady outside? If she didn't feel good then she should have just stayed at home. We also need to find out where she lives, her parents must be worried," Akira commented as she helped the young lady with some medicine.
The young girl looked like to be of the same age as Eureka and the others. Her shoulder length curly red hair was sticking to her face because of sweat.
"You should change her clothes, I'm going outside and prepare our dinner. Come down once you're ready okay?" Kaoru replied and walked out of the room.
As they eat dinner.
"You should sleep in my room," Kaoru offered.
"No, there's no need. I also need to check on her to make sure that her fever would surely go down by the morning. I can ju- Ouch!!"
She looked at him with a frown, he had just flicked his finger on her forehead and obviously it hurts. On the other hand, he was looking at her seriously.
"Your brother would kill me if I get you sick. She just have a fever, you have already helped her with some medicine and placed a damp towel on her forehead. So you can just change it before going to bed. If her fever didn't come down by tomorrow, we can bring her to the hospital."
"Bu-"
"No more buts. I brought you here not to put strain on you. I brought you here so that you can get use on the condition of this place. You are a doctor by nature, I know. But with your medicine and help a while ago, I'm very sure that, that girl would be fine."
After that Kaoru continued eating implying that he won't listen to any more of her demands.
Akira silently continued eating as well. She was actually happy on the inside, he may have not noticed his words but she did. First of all, he had just proclaimed that he was serious in taking up the position of being the king of this kingdom.
Second, the one that made her happy, was that he had proclaimed on his own words that she shall be staying with him once he come over here.
A smile appeared on her face as she continued eating with her head bowed down. She's like a teenager feeling giddy because of his words.
Though it's a good thing that the girl just have a fever, she really didn't need to do so much. Her, being a doctor, just kicked in a while ago that she wanted to watch over this patient.
"What about you then? Where will you be sleeping?"
'Though we could sleep together though,' she added inside, something she instantly let go knowing that he wouldn't want that.
She knew after all how uncomfortable he was when they were sleeping on the same tent back then. Though it was big enough that the two of them have space in between them.
"That's my room, of course I'm also sleeping in the bed," Kaoru replied without hesitation, he even had his brows furrowed as if what she was asking is something weird.
Akira could only look at him in shock. Did he just say that they will sleep together? Will he really be able to sleep?
Upon seeing her look, Kaoru instantly understood what was going in her mind.
"*clears throat* We are married, isn't it normal for the two of us to be sleeping on the same bed?"
"I'm just a bit shock. So will you really be able to sleep?" she decided to just tease him instead to cover the fact that her heart is currently racing.
Kaoru raced an eye brow but he didn't reply, instead he stood up and cleaned up their cutlery. But it didn't miss Akira's eyes, that his ears were red. She wanted to laugh out loud but stopped herself.
This is a very rare occassion for him to initiate skinship between them, if you could call sleeping on the same bed skinship, he might suddenly want to sleep on the sofa instead if she laugh now.
Kaoru finished washing first before Akira, she went and check on the young lady one last time before going to take a bath. So by the time she knocked in his room, he was already done changing and all.
"Go ahead and sleep first, I'll just finish some staffs before sleeping as well," he said before returning to the table.
Akira wanted to watch him sleep actually but maybe she was tired for the day. She had been studying the plants over here after all, she had fallen asleep while watching his back.
Kaoru finished summarizing all the things he needs to do next, close to midnight. He stretched out and turned around, he felt her staring at him from behind a while ago but not long after the feeling disappeared.
As he walked towards the bed, a tender look appeared on his face. He was not a dense person at all, he knew of her feelings. Though she did her best to hide it as much as possible and act as normal as possible, he can still feel it.
He sat down on the side of the bed and fixed her hair that covered her face. His action made her frown a little before she returned to her peaceful look.
He chuckled seeing this, since childhood, one of her favorite past time was sleeping. If someone were to disturb her, even just for a little that wouldn't wake her up. Her face would instantly frown.
He sighed as he remembered the past.
In reality, after spending more and more time with her. The guilt that had been eating him up for so long, slowly dissipated. That is also why he was able to bring her with him. He knew how dangerous this could be as well but he still chose to bring her.
"If my simple words made you that happy, I say aren't your happiness to shallow?" he started speaking to the sleeping her.
"But... that is also why you are so special."
He then lay down beside her but just as he did, she moved close to him and hugged her as if she was hugging a teddy bear. He stiffend for a bit before looking down at her. She seemed to be sleeping much more peacefully after hugging him.
With a sigh he closed his eyes, allowing her to hug him as much as she want.

The very next day, Akira woke up after having what she felt like the best sleep she ever had in a long while. She momentarily stiffend upon feeling someone hugging her, that's when she remembered that she was sleeping with Kaoru.
His arms were wrapped around her as her arms were wrapped around him.
'We look like a real couple now,' together with a smile her face turned red after such thought.
Kaoru who were only able to fall asleep close to dawn woke up upon feeling someone staring at him, after opening his eyes he was welcomed with the view of him hugging Akira as she look up at him.
"WOAH!!"

After being shock by the sudden view, he fell off the bed. Akira was momentarily shocked before she giggled.
"Are you alright?" she asked as she sat up in the bed.
Kaoru replied with a nod when he felt something, he abruptly stood up, took his towel and walked to the bathroom.
"You just got up what are you going to do?" Akira asked in confusion.
"Bath."
'A cold one,' he added inwardly as he answered her in one word.
