"You asked them to fetch me??!!"

Akira was completely stupefied. She's burning with rage, she was completely hurt and beaten. This felt worse than when he distanced himself from her, its simply telling her that he no longer needed her.

What happened? They were doing fine just as they arrived and during the first month of their stay, so why? Why is he suddenly so mad at her? He didn't even speak with her for two months.

Then suddenly what welcomed her was a carriage from their kingdom, already waiting for her.

"Just go Akira. I am now very much disappointed and am regretting bringing you here with me," he replied, his voice devoid of emotion.

No one still knows of their true identity, but people already had the idea that they have a very close relationship.

Seeing the carriage today, the people understood that these two adventurers actually have the money. They just decided to look around and chance upon Hesperian that was on the verge of collapse after the war.

"Please, just tell me. What have I done to deserve this?" she choked. She really was confused.

"I already told you, just leave," with eyes and voice devoid of emotion, Kaoru repeated.

A hand clasped his hands that was hanging by his side.

"Ka- Kaoru, please don't get mad at her," her voice was soft and warm, making one want to listen to her over and over again.

"I'm not mad Arisa, I'm just telling her to return. She's getting in my way over here," Kaoru replied without taking his hand from hers.

That's right, all of this began when the two of them helped Arisa a few months ago. The girl who fainted not far from their home. When she woke up, everything was still fine but Akira noticed how this lady started staying more and more with Kaoru.

Arisa was the daughter of the current chief, Tazuna. Back then she said that she was trying her best to help as well and didn't bother with how much she wasn't feeling good. Until her body collapsed from fatigue.

The reason why no one really knew her was because she herself were living in a low key manner that only a few people knew about her identity as the current chief's daughter.

After another few weeks, Akira could no longer hold it in and spoke with Kaoru about the girl who is of the same age as Eureka and the others.

"Didn't you notice that she is clinging on you more and more?" Akira asked after being alone with Kaoru in their home.

Most of the time when they were outside, Arisa would always be there beside them helping them out.

"What of it? She's just a kid plus she's helping as on her own way," Kaoru brushed it off.

Akira could no longer say anything after this. Yet another week passed and her jealousy finally flared up. Just outside where they live.

"I am your wife Kaoru, do you think I wouldn't notice how that girl is making moves towards you?"

"Akira, like I have said, she is just a child!! Why are you flaring up just because of that?"

"CAN'T I BE JEALOUS AT LEAST?!?" Akira asked in return.

Kaoru was taken a back after Akira flared up to him, just as he was about to answer a carriage lost control and was about to hit them. He took hold of her and jumped on the side barely avoiding the carriage hitting their door.

Akira, who was completely shaken by the incident, was trembling in his arms before she fainted.

Kaoru clicks his tongue, "Sixth time."

After that event, Kaoru became cold to Akira and Arisa started becoming even closer to Kaoru.

Kaoru started becoming more distant to Akira in return as time passed by and no matter how much she tries to act normal towards him, Kaoru himself didn't want to do so.

And now after four months being in Hesperian Kingdom, a carriage arrived for Akira. She abruptly looked at Kaoru who was inside the house when the messenger arrived, he only stood up and held her hand.

"So it finally arrived," that's all he said before dragging her towards the main gate.

That is how they ended up to their current condition. Akira was already crying, she looks at Kaoru hatefully. But Kaoru returned her look with nothing, she couldn't read his eyes. She was crying right in front of him but he himself was holding another person's hand in front of her.

"Doctor, it is time for us to depart," Mamoru said.

He was the one who was tasked to pick Akira up. And to make sure that she was to arrive at Aurora safely. Of course, no one from Hesperian knew who he was. He nodded at Kaoru before facing Akira.

He didn't know what had happened and who it was that was holding Kaoru's hand. He felt rage building up inside him. Eureka entrusted Akira to Kaoru but currently it seems that Kaoru is trying to throw Akira away.

He couldn't help but to feel bad for Akira who was currently crying. He could only clench his hands into a fist, it is unknown to the people from Hesperian, who Kaoru is. That is why he couldn't get mad, he could only hold it in as he guided Akira to the carriage.

Kaoru, on the other hand, watched the carriage disappear from the distance with no emotion. Without speaking he walked away from the main gate, not once did he held Arisa's hand back. He only left her holding him.

Arisa had an imperceptible smile on her, when Kaoru started walking away her hand obviously slipped from his hand.

"Kaoru, are you alright? Don't worry I will help you out in exchange for her. I know you were doing your best in helping our kingdom, despite only being an adventurer and being from this kingdom it is my duty to help you as much as I can," Arisa followed him and started speaking.

Kaoru looked back at her and smiled, "Thank you very much Arisa. I shall return home for now. I need to fix a few things, let's return to what we were doing tomorrow, hmmm."

His voice was gentle, far from the voice he used against Akira a while ago.

"I understand, then see you tomorrow," Arisa replied gleefully as she waved him goodbye.

*****

"So that woman was finally sent away?"

"Yes father. It seems that Kaoru really didn't like her and just tolerated with her. He had no emotion as he sent her away," Arisa said.

After bidding Kaoru goodbye, she went to her father's office.

"That's good. Now you only need to marry him, with that this whole place is entirely ours," Tazuna replied with a greedy smile on his face as he looked out in the city, that's starting to get back up in its feet.

Arisa blushed upon the mention of marriage, "Yes father. I shall make him mine."

'Kauro was a very good looking person. The other maidens of the kingdom are jealous of me because I can get close and speak with him. He had the aura of no one must get close after all. Now that that woman is gone, all his attention are finally solely mine. I can see it, he is falling in love for me,' Arisa had this thought as her smile grew wider.

Meanwhile in Kaoru's home. Some neighbors knocked in his door.

"We've heard some things crashing, are you alright?" they asked after hearing a series of breaking objects.

"Ah I apologize, I was fixing a few things and ended up destroying some other things. I'm sorry if I have disturbed you," Kaoru replied with a smile.

He's getting used to this, to smile at people. They said he had a gentle smile and it gets people to be even more captivated with him.

After sending his neighbors away, he closed the door and leaned back on the door before slowly sliding down, sitting down on the cold floor.

The neighbors didn't get to see what was inside but if they do, all of them would surely be shocked. Almost everything inside was turned upside down, it was in opposite with his smile a while ago.

Even his knuckles that was behind the door frame a while ago was bleeding, surely he had just punched something very hard to have such wounds.

When one were to go up, they would also see the same scene in his bedroom, broken containers and scattered papers. Everything was thrashed around except for the room Akira used.

The outside was getting darker but Kaoru remained sitting behind the door. His head burried in his arms, no one can tell if he was crying or not.

*****

"Will Kaoru be fine?" Haruka asked worriedly, her stomach was very much bigger now.

"He should be, he will be a king after all. He needs to be strong despite everything. Sometimes that is how a king should be," Akihiro replied as he placed his cup down before looking outside the window.

Beside the cup was a letter and the envelope that was addressed to him also had the sender written in it, 'From Kaoru'
