"Meeting adjourned."
Upon hearing the man's emotionless voice everyone present in the room stood up slowly and went out of the room in an organised fashion. Once outside, they quickly went away from the meeting room almost like they were running for their lives. When the room couldn't be seen anymore some people collapsed on the floor, others started taking a deep breath and some prayed for coming out alive from the devil's den.
- Back in the meeting room -
The person who caused all the terror slowly stood up and strode towards his own office. His office phone rang.
"Let him in."
A man soon entered the room. He was of a big built and was clad in a black suit paired with a black shirt. The only thing of color on his outfit was the platinum emblem of a dragon on his suit jacket.
"Permission to report, sir!"
The man at the desk simply nodded his head and directed his attention towards the guard.
"Miss Illes left the house with her cousin at 10:06am. They walked around the central park from 10:34-10:49. They then went to the Veturia wheel where they were joined by William Harding and Ren Muller. ..." the 'guard' continued his report until reaching the point where Siana and Alex returned to the villa.
"Done?"
"Yes sir!" frmly answered the man in black.
"Then do tell me, Ben, why am I being informed only now?" the man still continued in a calm voice. But the cold aura around him was spreading in the room as the Arctic winds. The air seemed to freeze from his coldness.
"Sir, you were in a meeting. And nothing major happened to her. So, I didn't find it worthy to disrupt your meeting."
"Didn't find it worthy?" the man repeated sarcastically and then continued, "Remind me what was your job again?"
Sensing the danger Ben answered but this time a bit hesitantly,
"I should follow miss Siana Illes and make sure that no harm comes to her. I also should make sure to report to you immediately if anything noyable happens to her, sir."
"Oh, so you still remember that you have to report to me? And you chose not to report when she was pestered by some annoying flies? You chose not to report when two of those flies had the audacity to flirt with her? And you also found it unworthy when she made plans with those bastards?"
His voice was calm from the beginning till the end but the aura around him was getting colder and colder. He continued,
"Do you know what you should do now?"
"I will receive my punishment for going against your orders, sir. And next time I will make sure to report everything to you when it comes to miss Siana."
The man smirked and said,
"Next time? I didn't know I had such incompetent fools among my forces: failing the mission, using bias and still having the audacity of thinking of the next time.
Report to Ash straight away."
Ben stood with a shocked expression. He had been in the Greydale forces for 7 years now and all was going to go to naught because of some random girl? He had done everything all these years to be acknowledged by his boss: he became one of the best guards, agents and spies. He was the captain of the guards and now he was going to lose everything?
He wanted to refute but the man's strong aura was making him tremble. He bowed and left the room.
Once he was outside Cain talked again,
"You can come out now."
As if by magic a blonde man appeared in the corner of the room. With a lollipop in his mouth he gave an easy-going and friendly vibe. He was wearing a white shirt paired with dark blue jeans.
"Pffft, I can't believe the guy undermined Sia's importance to you. I guess putting a gay guard to protect her has its pros and cons", he laughed finding the whole situation comical.
"Do you expect me to put someone straight on her so that he falls for her?" Cain scoffed at his friend.
At his response the blonde just burst from laughing, "Ahahhahaha, sorry it's just... Your jealousy is so ... cute."
"Yeah, I am jealous. Do you have anything to say about it?"
Sensing his coldness and the danger oozing out of him, Arthur quickly composed himself and asked seriously,
"So who are you going to appoint to her now?"
"You."
"Excuse me? Did I just hear you say me?"
"You heard right."
"Cain, you are my friend and I understand better than anyone how much she means to you. But I am your personal bodyguard. And I am also a captain of the secret forces. Anyone in my squad can do a better job than Ben. Just put someone..."
His sentence was interrupted midway by Cain's firm and authoritative voice,
"If I say you then it's you. Kalix is still on a mission and you will replace him in protecting Sia until his return. Understood?"
"Understood!" Arthur said firmly. Then letting out a sigh he continued,
"But what about you?"
"Ash is coming today."
"Okay, got it."
Arthur stood there fidgeting as if trying to ask something but hesitating to do so.
"You have any questions?"
"No... actually, yes. So what are you going to do with those two guys? I mean you know they actually have potential to..."
Once again he was interrupted by Cain who said with his eyes a shade darker,
"They won't have time for her."
After a moment Arthur jumped excitedly,
"Omg! The devil is back! Are you going to kill them? Or destroy their properties? Or are you going to do both??? Tell me now!"
Cain's lips arched slightly on the right side and his eyed turned so dark that one could feel his blood thirst.
"Just wait and see."
