There was a momentary silence after Kalix's words among the squad members. The five of them were the closest people to Cain who always accompanied him in his missions, thus, they knew about Sia from long ago and also heard Kalix's statement just now. Though they were scattered around the woods everyone subconsciously turned towards Cain's direction evidently waiting for his response. If Sia was truly able to accomplish Kalix's claim then they would have nothing more to worry about as even the five of them would be enough to deal with the hundreds of their enemies.

Nonetheless, Cain was not as optimistic as Kalix who had somehow turned into Sia's fan, viewing her as a Goddess. It wasn't that he didn't believe in Sia but rather the task was just too difficult. It was something no one had accomplished before and even if Sia could do it she would require time: time that they did not have.

"I will ask her about it. But the chances are truly slim," Cain finally talked, knocking some sense into his subordinated who had long turned into his brothers in arms.

His words were sufficient as a wake up call, as no one believed in Sia as he did: so if he said it wasn't going to be easy, then it wasn't. And he was the most knowledgeable in physics and maths among them, so it was quite obvious that he would fathom the whole task better than any of them. Hence, no one questioned his answer.

Kalix felt a bit downhearted, but he still voiced out what everyone had in mind,

"So, what do we do now?"

He had previously suggested to stay back, but truth be told he didn't really want to do so. He was a perfect scout, but being one was pretty boring. He would much prefer shooing away the guys lurking around their lady boss, after all, it was quite fun for him to break their hearts.

Moreover, he had heard from Arthur that that traitor Will was trying to pursue Siana, which almost had him blow his cover on the day of receiving the news. Especially when he learned that the guy had claimed that he fell for her from the first sight.

Didn't it mean he didn't understand her and went for her looks first? He would absolutely not accept such a thing! Sia was not a shallow woman that relied on her looks, rather, under her cheerful mask hid an extremely thoughtful, intelligent yet incomparably kindhearted woman. Her true beauty was only enhanced by her outer appearance, at the same time being concealed by it. She was so much more than her looks that he would need ages to go over all her good points.

What more, even Cain would not get a pass from him if he regarded her as Will: after all, he was the first person who met her! He was not only her instructor but her sworn big brother that even she recognised! So anyone that wanted to get close to her first needed an approval from him. This had been the rule for years and he had no intention of changing it, after all, he was exactly the one who approached her first, though under the orders of the Devil King, but yet it was the case...

Furthermore, he was exactly the one to act as a middleman between the Devil king and the Abandoned Princess. Though, it wasn't exactly right to call her 'abandoned' anymore: after that incident she would always have people who would stay with her no matter what: people like Cain and him.

To others, Sia might have been a person with good looks and nice and interesting personality, but to him she was the person who saved his life. If it wasn't for his training with her, he might have gone on the wrong road. But her perseverance, her strong personality coupled with her unwavering principality made him reconsider his life goals: something even Cain had had a hard time doing.

Cain had previously told him that he had promised Sia to let him go back to Ribekia and continue training her. And Cain always kept his promises. So he was sure there wouldn't be much problems with the current mission. It was finally the time to go back to human life!

While he was reminiscing about his past and dreaming about the future, Cain was in deep thoughts about the future of their mission: though they didn't have a hope from the very beginning to infiltrate the place today he still hoped to have some breakthrough.

"Alfred and I will stay back while the rest of you will go back," Cain finally broke the nerve-wrecking silence. The next moment his voice turned much more frosty,"Kalix, you will go to her side and continue to train her. Increase the intensity of her trainings and concentrate on self protection. Her reflexes are not strong enough, if it stays that way I will fire you for sure."

"Sir, yes sir!" Kalix answered out of reflex yet in an extremely enthusiastic way completely ignoring Cain's last threat. Sia was surely the best thing that happened to them, or else the Devil King would have forced them to stay back with them.

Cain felt annoyed with Kalix's response but chose to ignore it for the moment,

"Arthur is now protecting her from the shadows, but I need you to join him." After pondering for a bit he ordered the rest of them, "There seem to be some movements from Luke...Ash, I need you to oversee this until I return."

Everyone consented to his orders but Ash was a bit taken aback. How could he leave him with so little protection in such a dangerous place? He turned to Cain's direction, but the latter seemed to have expected this as he also looked at him. Though they were in a considerate distance Ash could still clearly see the unwavering determination in Cain's eyes and this could mean only one thing: his orders were non-negotiable.

"Got it," in the end he agreed to the orders, but still had points to clarify, "but how long are you planning to stay behind? Is this really the best time for you to be here with Luke out there?"

"I shouldn't be staying long, but if we want Sia to help us I will need to gather some more useful information for her to work on. For now, don't tell her anything."

He had truly considered Kalix's suggestion, but for the plan to succeed he would need much more technical data on the place and the conditions and out of everyone he was the best for such a job. Though it would be dangerous, they needed to take risks from time to times to finally achieve some breakthroughs.

It was at this time that Kalix interjected their conversation and for the first time since the start of the talks, he sounded more serious than ever. One could even feel the murderous intent in his voice,

"What do I do with that guy?"

It seemed like Cain expected this question from him, as his answer came in immediately,

"Do as you see fit."

Kalix was exhilarated with Cain's apathetic reply: this was exactly what he needed.

"Hehehe, don't ever tell me I didn't ask for permission from you in the future."

Cain stayed in his position, unmoving, but his lips curved into a feint smile, millions of thoughts running through his mind,

"Sure."
