Chapter 6
Two days have passed since Pedro and Nicolas stayed in the village.
There was a lot of things that I want to ask so I followed the two everyday.
At first, Kyoko was shy to the foreigners that she had never seen before but did she get used to them because I followed them a lot, she started to ask the two many questions with me.
First, starting at the reason the two came to this village, it looks like they were searching for a certain monster.
“We came to find a variant species of one-horned rabbit.”
“Variant species?”
Nicolas told me that.
And by the way, it looks like Nicolas has a little brother the same age as me in the countryside so he often looks after me.
“Although it’s called a variant species, it’s not like it’s bigger or stronger. It’s a rabbit that has a different colored tail than other rabbits.”
There are two kinds of one horned rabbit that appear around this village. It would be either one that has white color in its whole body and one that has black and white color.
“I never seen that before〜, what color is it?”
Just like Kyoko said, there is often one horned rabbit in the small mountains where I hunt to, and I often bring catch them and bring them back.
“It’s yellow color. Also, it’s not strange that you have never seen it.”
Pedro who is making a huge trap using bamboo answered.
“”Why?””
Kyoko and I asked at the same time.
“It’s because we never saw it before as well.”
“”Eh?!!””
“What is he saying”, when the two of us tilted our heads like that,
“It means that it’s just hat hard to find. In the information that we have, it’s protected by its comrades outside and rarely leaves their nest.”
Nicolas said.
“And it is not for sure that it would be in the nest because there would be only 4-5 rabbits in 1 nest, but they make groups of 20 rabbits so there would be 5 nests.”
Pedro added that. They’re a good pair.
It was as if their quarrels when we first met was a lie.
“How are you going to catch it?”
Kyoko honestly asked her question.
“Catching all the rabbits in each nest one by one with perseverance is the best way.”
Nicolas explained like that.
Then, I asked the question that I have.
“What’s the percentage that you’d catch it with that?”
“Well, probably 30% I think?”
When Nicolas said that,
“Eh?! That’s all?”
I could not help but shout.
“No, that is already a high percentage. After all, it is only 10% in the continent where the value of that rabbit is known. Since the villagers in this village don’t know its value, they don’t go on their ways to catch them right? It’s because of that that the percentage is high. ”
Pedro who heard what I said explained the reason.
“Why are you doing so much for just a rabbit with a different tail color?”
When I asked that,
“That one-horned rabbit is called in the continent as ‘Rabbit of Luck’ you know.”
Nicolas said that,
“”Rabbit of Luck?”
And when I asked with Kyoko,
“Just catching and selling that rabbit would make an ordinary adventurer earn enough money that they could stably live for 4-5 years.”
Pedro said while grinning.
“Why is it that expensive?”
When Kyoko asked with a smile,
“That rabbit is a material used for a high status item for adventurers called ‘Magic Bag’.”
Nicolas answered kindly.
“Magic Bag?”
I asked while tilting my head.
“Magic Bag is in short, the bag that can carry things that is bigger than what it can originally hold.”
Pedro told us while waving his hand.
I could only get moved knowing that it is the Magic Item that usually appears in fantasy works.
