All of a sudden, I became muddled. I didn’t what happened.
As always, the class monitor, Xu Ning, came out to arbitrate.
“Everybody, stop making these kinds of jokes. Even though there isn’t a teacher here, we are still juveniles. Don’t go too far.”
“What? We’re already eighteen, okay?”
“Are you out to lunch, Xu Ning? Even middle school students can have a child. But you tell me that we’re still juveniles.”

Xu Ning hadn’t guessed that speaking one sentence for the sake of peacemaking would bring him so much trouble. He even became the focus of the topic now.
In a moment, our table had turned into the noisiest corner in the restaurant.
Fortunately, they only had three tables of guests today, and the rest were empty.
While we were happy discussing our class secrets, an inconsiderate voice came to our ears.
“Wow, these kids are so capable, just eating lunch can give them mental disorders.”
This voice came from beside Ou Yang.
I don’t know if you know how high school students are after the college entrance examination. We were like horses out of control. So when the voice arose, one of us stood up immediately.
Wei Zhang, who was famous for his fiery temper, stood out. He’d even fought with a teacher before.
“Some kids older than us are so talkative,” he said.
“Hey, boy, what are you talking about?” The tall one in Ou Yang’s class stood up to rebuke him immediately.
Wei Zhang didn’t retreat, saying, “What? I didn’t point at you. Are you a kid older than us?”
Seeing the situation, I felt very apologetic, thus I gave Ou Yang a sorry look.
Meanwhile, she felt the same and returned me an awkward expression.
Seeing her like that, I stood up to persuade Wei Zhang without any careful thought and said, “Wei Zhang, stop it. We both came out to have fun, not be unhappy.”
On the other side, Monkey Sun also helped me to take Wei Zhang back to his seat.
Wei Zhang was someone we seldom provoked.
He was about 170 cm tall, however, underneath his clothes, his muscles were very powerful. He was a warrior since elementary school. In our high school, there wasn’t a single person who hadn’t heard of him.
But he was kind to everyone in our class.
After Monkey’s and my persuasion, Wei Zhang sat down.
But we never guessed the one in Ou Yang’s class wouldn’t understand our efforts. He yelled, “Wow, I’m so scared! Why are you sitting down?”
For a minute, I took a look at Monkey. Both of us became worried.
Without any doubts, Wei Zhang stood up to prepare for a fight.
“Hey, if you’re so capable, why not go to the grassland to catch a sheep?” Xu Ning stood up at the same time to engage the opponent. (Note: this is from the Chinese Cartoon Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf. In the cartoon, Big Big Wolf never catch a sheep.)
I became speechless.
Xu Ning had a sharp tongue outside school, though he was a kind to us.
Understanding Xu Ning’s words, the opponent soon felt awkward, and he didn’t know how to reply.
“Zhang Hao, enough, sit down,” Ou Yang said to him.
Zhang Hao however, was irritated by this well-meaning persuasion. His face turned uglier and he began to mock her, “Ou Yang, why are you speaking for them? Do you have some business with one of those guys? Does Chen Lu know you are so skittish?”
In a second, I forgot all my efforts of quieting down this meaningless quarrel and stood up to challenge him.
“Hey, you bamboo stalk, what’re you talking about?!”
