Chapter 21: Ice Phantom
Right. In the past I was only using ice magic and didn’t give any thought to other types of magic. I feel that ice magic is very convenient, the freezing effect can be used to slow enemies down and kill them, or slow them down so I can escape.
But now I really need to think about using different types of magic. Maybe different magic attributes can be used in different ways.
When I opened the skill menu a dazzling lineup of magical skills appeared. I learned every magical skill I saw. I learned so many that now I have ten pages of magical skills, with 20 skills on each page.
And this is after I’ve gotten rid of low level spells and those that use too much mana. If those were added in it would be almost a hundred pages.
(TL: Excluding skills that I believe are warrior, other class skills or system skills, I’d estimate that we’ve seen Fir use 55-60 different spells by this point)
It feels like I’m looking at something with the thickness of a strategy guide’s dictionary in front of me. I don’t want to go through the entire thing looking at the effects of each one.
Impossible. There’s only one solution to this problem.
After some thinking, I chose plant magic.
That’s right, the restraints on water and fire weren’t obvious, they were still there. And the restraints increased as the magic was used more.
In other words, there will be some advantages if I used plant magic against water magic, but as for how this translates into actual combat, I won’t know until the time comes.
Fortunately, only half a page of plant magic can be used. In addition to some healing magic, and some acceleration wind magic, and some electrical paralyzation magic, I had my new quick skill bar set up.
Just in time to test it out in a fight.
Following Ms. Mari, she walked from the office to the area around the actual field.
To think that just a few days ago I was a teacher here, and now I’ve been turned back into a student, feels really weird.

It’s a pity I won’t use it.
While I’m not afraid of melee, I feel like it’s a test of reactions, and fighting with such a narrow field of view doesn’t suit me.
Frankly speaking, I prefer to use long range skills.
Although I have a single-edged sword on by back I have absolutely no idea at all how to use it.
