Chapter 33: Fellow Actors
After giving it some thought, I grabbed a book that looked nice and went back to where Melody was.
“You finally found the book you were looking for?”
Melody asked me, looking up from under the magic lamp.
“Ba……basically, yes.”
I’m not going to say that I want to sit down and pretend to be calm.
I looked at the tattoo from Momiji Speech and laughed in my heart.
It seems like the Momiji Secret Society and I were strongly bound together by fate. I’m forced into a relationship with them even if my identity changes, but I don’t know if this is good or bad.
After turning a few pages, a flurry of footsteps came from the stairs. Needless to say, it was Falan.
Upon reaching our floor, Falan looked around the entire floor and locked her eyes on us.
I quickly pretended to be reading, ignoring Falan’s gaze.
“Hey, elder sister, why did Falan come? Did she figure out who you are?”
“I don’t think……that’s the reason.”
I showed Oyado the tattoo from the ring on my finger.
“It’s because I accidentally had some relationship with the Momiji Secret Society.”
“Eh~ Elder sister and the Momiji have a strong connection.”
“I certainly hope not. While I feel that mercenary organization didn’t do anything terrible, I always felt that they were dangerous.”
“That……”
I don’t know when Falan had gotten behind us.
“Oyado, this is……”
“It’s elder sister Felicia~”
Oyado replied.”
“Eh? Elder sister?”
Falan looked at me curiously.
“Does she have anything do with Fir?”
“Nothing at all, it doesn’t have to do with that.”
Oyado and I said at the same time.
“Is that so……”
Falan frowned at me, and then grabbed my left hand and brought it to her eyes.
“Maa……It was the Momiji Speech. Interesting. It would be reasonable to say that the Momiji Speech shouldn’t recognize a common girl. Is there something special about you?”
After that she began to look me over.
No way, you’ll get the entire act.
I coughed and asked in the softest voice I could.
“That……What is Momiji Speech?”
When I said that I felt goosebumps all over my body. I didn’t think that this body could make such a ‘ice queen’ voice.
If I were still in my male body I would have gone straight against the wall.
“Well……”
Falan didn’t respond to it. She glanced across the table at Melody before continuing.
“You, come alone with me.”
With that, she headed back to the stairs.
“If you want to know what the tattoo on your hand does.”
Sorry, I know how to use it already. It’s just a skill.
I laughed in my heart. But I can’t say that out loud, I’m a ‘normal girl’ now.
But I know now that Falan likes to fool around and pretend to act like a pretentious prick all the time. Look at people when you talk, ok? Is it that fun to turn your back on someone else?
But since you are pretending to be pretentious I can’t let it go, right?
I leaned over to Oyado’s ear and whispered.
“Go find Aliyah and explain, then carefully follow along.”
“Un un. I would have done that even if elder sister didn’t tell me!”
Then I said to Melody.
“Sorry, I have a bit of a problem so I’ll have to leave first.”
“Un, but be careful. Although Ms. Falan doesn’t teach, there are reports of strange sounds coming from her magical laboratory.”
“Oh……I understand.”
Falan, you’ve actually dared to experiment with necromancy in the school’s labs? You really are bold.
While I silently though that, I followed after Falan as she departed.

It’s completely dark outside. Sunrise and sunset is basically the same as our world, and happen at the same times, so it is generally dark by seven P.M.
Falan wasn’t heading towards the commercial district, but a middle class residential area. The Imperial Capital was very large after all, and those nobles liked to separate out people into different classes, like the slums that Lilith and I lived in.
So, with the exception of the streetlights and the occasional voices from nearby houses, it was an incredibly eerie feeling walking this way.
“This is……where are we going?
I pretended to cautiously ask.
“I have to say, don’t you feel bad talking with that voice?”
Falan suddenly asked.
“What are you saying? I don’t get it at all~”
Hearing what I said, Falan suddenly stopped and turned around. Four fireballs appeared around her and one by one they flew at me!
Is this a test? It’s not like she didn’t know that Oyado and I had defeated the necromancer so isn’t this test a bit easier?
I pointed forward, four water blades appeared and met the fireballs head on, turning them into gas.
“Oh~”
That brought a smile to Falan’s mouth.
“There was no incantation, the accuracy of the attack was good enough to hit a flying target, those aren’t at the level of an average female student at a magical academy. What’s more, that sword seems to have been used for a long time, and it’s not even a valuable weapon so the wear on it should have been from your own use. It’s hard to imagine that an ordinary looking girl who’s a student at the Imperial College is a veteran magic swordsman.
“It’s very simple. You’re a fire magician so I prepared water magic ahead of time so that I could quickly cast it. As for why it was so precise……I’m a swordsman, what’s wrong with having good eyesight.”
“Oh~”
Falan laughed.
“It’s true. It isn’t easy for someone to get Oyado to call her elder sister, she didn’t even like to call me that……”
