When Angel was back on the ground there was no sign of any of the rest of the ambrosia she had taken. She only took the time to finish the piece that she was already eating. As for the rest, she didn't leave them behind. She put them somewhere that only she knew about.

The couple was still as busy, and as noisy, as before when she was leaving the area. Now that she had acquired what she had come to get, it was time to get back. She stayed vigilant, watching and listening for others, as she darted from tree trunk to tree trunk. She almost slipped on the wet grass or tripped over roots a few times but was able to keep from yelling out.

She was in a very good mood after successfully crawling back across the field between the grove and the town wall. The gate guards gave her a weird look as she hummed. She seemed to be in a bad mood when leaving town earlier, so the total change was confusing and a bit unnerving on a wet dark night.

"Your business must have gone well for you to be in such a good mood huh?" One of the veteran guards just had to inquire about the change.

"Yup, I'm very happy at the moment. I can't wait to get back under the blankets." Angel wasn't lying. She had more business to attend to after returning control to Alex.

Angel raced along the curving street once she was out of sight. She was careful to avoid any large puddles but this didn't stop her from almost face planting after slipping on a wet stone. She ended up hurting Alex's hands and knees a bit.

"Crap..."

Angel kept walking, limping really, as she considered how to cover up her slip up.

"He'll surely wonder where the wounds came from."

She scanned through his memories and smiled.

"I'll just make it seem like he fell out of bed. Should be believable enough as long as I get all the dirt out of the cuts."

Alex had a history of waking up with odd unexplainable wounds throughout his life. But only the ones where he'd fallen out of bed or kicked a wall really hard had broken the skin before. He usually woke up when he felt that much pain before he fell right back to sleep after understanding what he'd done. This time she'd have to hope he merely thought he was too tired to wake up like he normally would when falling out of bed. If he was still suspicious, she'd just reappear as Angel and give him a believable story. He should be too happy to have her back to delve too deeply into the origin of such minor wounds.

Angel smiled again as she limped along. She liked Alex, even though he was often somewhat simple where others were sharp, he was still surprisingly insightful in places where nearly everyone else was completely dull.

The guard, Gong, asked about her limp as she passed the inner gate but it was enough to simply tell the truth about slipping on a wet rock. She had nothing to be embarrassed about, this wasn't her body after all.

There were still no signs of Zeus by the time she made it back home. She had to decide how she was going to sneak back in and it would have helped to know whether Zeus was already back home or not. The matter would only be simple if he was already back, in his bed, and sound asleep. It would raise too many questions if he were to find wet floors and soggy clothes before she could clean up.

She decided that there just wasn't enough time to wash her feet and clean up at the first-floor entryway. This was Zeus's house and it was obvious that he regularly snuck out so there must be several ways to sneak back in. It didn't take her long to find an entry method. The second-floor balcony was perfectly situated near the low wall of a fountain. Now that she thought about it, the garish decorations of the fountain were probably meant to distract any passerby's attention so they'd be less likely to notice its somewhat odd placement. It really didn't seem too out of place considering the rest of the decor around the mansion.

"He's a real pro."

Angel was lost in thought as she recalled a few of her private memories until somebody passing on the street outside made noise as they slipped and stumbled through shallow puddles.

Angel carefully stood on top of the low wall facing the balcony. She had never before attempted what she was about to do and took a moment to breathe and prepare herself mentally for the exertion. Just then a thought crossed her mind. Looking down, her feet were leaving mud tracks on the fountain wall. They would do the same inside if they weren't washed.

The fountain was truly conveniently placed. She dipped her feet in its waters and thoroughly washed the mud and grass from between her toes and off the wall. She also took the time to clean out the cuts and scraped knee from earlier. It was also a nice coincidence that the rain was hard enough to wash away her earlier tracks across the yard.

With no more time to waste, Angel jumped from the wall and grabbed the bottom of the balcony. She had slipped a little from the wet surface of the wall as she jumped but now she only had to pull herself up and over.

"F*cking sh*t-"

Angel froze with wide eyes. Someone in the street on the other side of the tall outer wall had slipped on a stone and had a bad spill. To make matters worse it sounded like Zeus's voice. Her muscles were getting tense but the sudden adrenaline let her pull herself up and into the house with little trouble. Now she just had to deal with the wet clothes so they wouldn't leave little puddles inside and get back into bed.

After slipping inside and found herself standing in a hallway with various decorations including vases with nude figures gracing their side. She quickly took off her cloak and wrung the water out over one of the said vases. Then she laid the cloak across the floor to absorb errant water and began stripping off the rest of her wet clothes while standing on it.

*Thump- thump- thump- clack*

Angel froze in shock once again. Somebody else had quickly climbed onto the same balcony and was coming inside as she was standing there in Alex's body, completely naked, wringing out wet clothes.

"Wha- F*ck! Ah? It's Alex?"

Zeus was standing there, halfway through the open balcony door. They both stood there staring in shock at one another for a long moment. Both of them looked like they'd just been caught red-handed.

"What are you doing here?" Zeus asked in a low voice as he took in the scene in front of him.

"I- nothing! What about you?" Angel questioned back with a halting voice just louder than a whisper.

Here was a scene where they had both been caught sneaking back in. The only question was, what were they doing that they didn't want anyone else to know about?

"Also nothing." Zeus said in a collected voice as he closed the door and gingerly walked over to a vase on the opposite side next to the door.

They both wrang out their clothes in silence. It was a few moments before Zeus had digested the situation and come to his own conclusions.

"I won't pry, but if you were sneaking out to visit Persephone in the middle of the night, I applaud your daring." Zeus said with a big grin on his face as he looked at Alex.

"But I should warn you not to cross her mother Demeter."

"Wha- I- No-" Angel wasn't used to being in a compromising situation and almost spilled the beans. Zeus with his abnormally keen eyes noticed her slip but thought it was just the lad's embarrassment.

"If you're really interested in such things, I should probably teach you about the birds and the bees between gods here in the commons first."

"I- ugh... Can't we just pretend we didn't see each other tonight?" Angel didn't want to make this any more complicated, she still had to fool Alex later.

Zeus grinned even bigger, those were the very words he wanted to hear.

"Fine, its a deal. You won't say anything to anyone about what you might have found out tonight and I won't say anything to anyone either." Zeus wasn't sure how many of his secrets had been discovered by Alex.

His secret money wasn't the only thing at risk, so he was only too happy to form a gentleman's agreement. Angel was also relieved by the deal. She only hoped it wouldn't come up later and tip off Alex to her secret actions.
