Rainer couldn't help but curse his luck, after a hard battle against the Silverback Ape, they had to face a Berserker Wolf.
"Grrrrrrr..."
The berserker wolf growled at Rainer showing his hostility against him.
"The Acid Bath strategy won't do anything against it, it's too strong. We have to reach the clan...."
The wolf knocked the ground with its front paws just before it rushed at Rainer,Lerna leaped up to catch the wolf but how would a one-meter snake be able to stop a charge from a wolf that was several hundred kilograms in weight?
After the impact, Lerna's body flew away leaving shattered scales on the ground,which had obviously injured her severely,but the wolf didn't escape unscathed either because its right eye had suffered a corrosive attack from Lerna, blinding it.
Rainer was glad to see through his bond that Lerna was still alive, but the Berserker Wolf reached him before he could help her.
Seeing the wolf's jaws approaching at his neck, Rainer instinctively raised his arms as he used his mimic skill.
Suddenly, green scales appeared on Rainer's skin if anyone had been there to describe him, they would claim to have seen a snake-shaped human.
With his new protective coating, Rainer's confidence increased.
Unfortunately, not even Lerna's scales could withstand a single attack from the wolf, not to mention the inferior version of Rainer's scales.

After being knocked down, Rainer felt his blood rushing to his mouth while it left a metallic taste.
"Uhhhg"
The shock must have smashed some bones as he was incapable of standing.
The wolf, who enjoyed tormenting his prey, raised one of his front legs and began to pressure Rainer's chest.
Unable to move due to the seriousness of his injuries, Rainer began to fall unconscious.

"How did I survive? Last thing I remember, I threw myself on the Berserker Wolf..."
"I don't know how I made it through this, but I'd better hurry back before another unexpected event comes up."

Rainer managed to reach the clan at midnight, when he arrived at the entrance of the FairWind City, the guard was surprised to see his deplorable condition, but surprisingly Rainer had no scratch on him!
Finally he arrived at his lodgings where Alisha was waiting for him.
"Aaaaaaaaaaaah! What happened to you Young Master! Who did it! I'm gonna gut him and make him swallow his insides!
Alisha looked like a tigress mom whose kittens were kidnapped, looking for a culprit to pour her wrath on.
"It wasn't anyone from the clan..."

"I-I went to the Mist Woods with Lerna, we managed to kill a Silverback Ape, but on the way back we were ambushed by a Berserker Wolf that was more powerful than us, I almost died..."
