50 years have passed since the First Order was defeated and banished from the galaxy not with few sacrifices of legendary heroes who now lived in the memory and hearts of those who love justice and peace. After the victory a new Jedi Order was established and many youngsters and other people who were force sensitives were recruited to become protectors and defenders of the galaxy.
The one who talks is one of the many Jedi knights who have taken the responsibility of taking care of the weak and maintain the balance and the peace wherever they are needed. I must make clear that I am very proud of this honor and that never have I regretted the decision I have made. This is also the reason why it pains me to see what it has happened these last years. The once respected and even admired members of the Jedi order have fallen in the eyes of the common people. The ones who before used to see us with expectations and acknowledgment now look at us with resentment and mistrust.
I must recognize that this may very well be due to our own actions and behaviour. The youngsters these days were getting cocky and many of them even arrogant. Many padawans fell to the dark side and in doing so they provoked many useless deaths and they brought dishonor to the order. However, I feel that there are more complex and darker forces behind the present situations, and even though we have tried to investigate the matter, until now our efforts have been fruitless.
The situation is getting worse by the day and one thing that really is tipping the balance against us is a ridiculous rumor that has spread among the populace. This false story that is being told in bars and the streets of many systems and has created, if it is even possible, more resentment against us. The rumor tells a totally changed story of the battle against the First Order and it presents the once respected heroes like Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa and Han Solo as totally different people who none could respect. They present General Solo as a failure who decided to abandon his family to return to the life of a smuggler, they present Leia Organa as a person that abandoned the senate to fight by herself as if she could not convince all the galaxy to fight against a terrorist group. They even created a fictional character that supposedly had more rank that the war hero Admiral Akbar.
However, the worst was what they say about the legendary Master Luke Skywalker. The rumours portray him as a bitter and powerless man who tried to kill his own nephew and abandoned his family and friends in order to escape to a desolate planet where he just cut his connection with the Force. The first time I heard about that it made my blood boiled and I had to use all my training to keep my calm and not give it to my anger. Many members of the order have decided to ignore these rumours but the problem is that even the younglings are starting to doubt the truth and they are very confused about this matter.
Master Jankalox has suggested me to create this holocron in which I will tell a real recollection of the events that ocurred in that moment of the time. This responsibility falls to me since I heard the stories of what really happened from reliable sources who participated in the battles against the First Order and I will retell what those people told me as accurately as my memory permits me.
