Chapter 11: Star Energy (1)

After an unknown amount of time, Lu Yin spat out a mouthful of blood once more. Waves of air shot out from his body and overturned the tent that spread out at a radius over hundreds of meters long.

The commotion attracted the camp’s attention. Two captains immediately rushed towards Lu Yin.

One was Feng Hong, and the other a charming woman. Her charming eyes were filled with a deep sense of curiosity.

The two captains landed outside the ruins of the tent where Lu Zhaorong once lived. Looking inside, Feng Hong asked, “Are you the new captain, Lu Yin?” As he asked, an army of evolved humans behind him waited cautiously.

Lu Yin quickly walked out the ruins of the tent. His face was pale and steps a little too shaky. “Sorry for disturbing the two of you. Yes, I am Lu Yin.”

The charming woman and Feng Hong looked at Lu Yin in surprise. “Why do you look so weak?”

Lu Yin smiled bitterly. “Previously, when I saw the Punishment Saint executing his offensive skill, I felt an itch in my hands and wanted to give it a try. Unfortunately, I failed and suffered some injuries.”

Feng Hong understood and laughed merrily. “Brother Lu is too impatient! Not anyone can control a battle skill. It isn’t something that can be learned in a short period of time. All of us captains have the chance to be taught by the Punishment Saint himself.”

Lu Yin nodded deeply in agreement. “Understood. Thank you, Brother Feng, for your guidance.”

“There’s no need to be courteous. We’re all brothers here! In the future, we will all face the apocalypse together and depend on each other, on our comrades.” Feng Hong smiled. “Alright, I will go and get someone to arrange you a place to recuperate.”

“There’s no need.” Lu Yin shook his head. “It’s only a superficial wound. It’d be troublesome to go that far. There’s no need to call a doctor.”

Feng Hong noded. “Alright, then, we’ll take our leave first. Brother Lu, you should rest first.”

The woman glanced at Lu Yin again and left.

Lu Yin followed the soldier to the nearest tent. “I’ll be taking my leave first. If the army’s commander has any orders, just shout my name!” The soldier bowed and retreated.

Lu Yin nodded and walked into the tent, his eyes growing incomparably excited. A trace of apprehension and expectation appeared in the corner of his eyes. After successfully sculpting his body, not only did he succeed, it also brought him a huge surprise. As he thought about it, Lu Yin raised his hand and soon, a dice the size of his palm slowly appeared and emitted a hazy starlight. Just like a normal dice, there were six sides. Each side represented a number–––a total of six.

This was a talent that would only show after cultivators sculpted their bodies.

Talent was a mysterious thing and no one knew where it came from. Many scholars in the universe believed that it was the deepest secret of humanity and represented a person’s ancient origin. However, this saying was only a guess. No one could truly develop a talent.

Lu Yin didn’t care about the source of his talent. What he cared about was the talent itself.

Before coming to earth, he heard countless times of those with powerful talents. Every single one of them were prodigies recruited by large powers in the universe. Most talents were famous enough that they could directly join the universe’s youth council.

Lu Yin stared at the dice with a fiery burning gaze. Although he had little talent, it mattered to him not. What was important was how he used it and what he did with it.

Looking at the dice floating in the air, Lu Yin lightly tapped on the dice. It quickly spun in circles then slowly stopped. The six sides began to change. Soon, the five sides disappeared, leaving only one side.

Lu Yin stared at the one side. An inexplicable image appeared in his mind. It allowed him to randomly acquire any item in anyone’s spatial ring.

But before he could react, the dice shot out a beam of light into the void and instantly disappeared. It looked like it opened a passage. Then, a crystal fell onto the ground while the color of the dice became dim and gradually disappeared.

Lu Yin stared blankly at the crystal card that fell to the ground.

【This… this is the thing that I stole?】

Lu Yin picked up the crystal card and looked at it with a curious gaze. He then pulled out the personal terminal that belonged to Yatta from his spatial ring and inserted it into the crystal card. A light screen appeared in front of him. Three words hung in the air–––Heavenly Star Art.

Lu Yin stared at the screen in a daze as it flashed. Animals, humans, stars, universe, nebulas… After a half an hour passed, the crystal card that was inserted into the personal terminal was destroyed, waking Lu Yin up.

He was shocked. He knew he obtained something extraordinary.
