Chapter 14: In the City (2)

Lu Yin turned around to face Zhao Yu. The dagger in his hand flew out and casually returned it back to Zhao Yu.

“Do you want to continue?” He asked.

Zhao Yu stared at Lu Yin. “How did you do that?”

Lu Yin shrugged. “Eyes, hands, speed, they’re all indispensable when used well.”

Nonsense, everyone thought.

“You won. You were able to snatch my dagger without suffering any injuries. I don’t think anyone amongst the Earth Realm is your match. You are strong.” Said Zhao Yu with a complicated tone.

Lu Yin laughed.

These people’s horizons were too low. They who didn’t even have a proper set of combat skills were at the bottom pool of the universe’s major academies. How could they have the qualifications to say such words?

Zhao Yu put away her dagger in disappointment. Only now did she realize that Lu Yin seemed different from yesterday. “You… Your energy was depleted yesterday?”

Lu Yin did not explain. Instead, he turned around and walked outside. He wanted to take a walk for there was not anything he was looking for in that desolate mountain. Perhaps it was hidden somewhere else.

Zhao Yu watched as Lu Yin left. She genuinely wanted to ask of the battle skills he used yesterday, but battle skills were usually private and one’s own secret cards, so she did not ask.

It was rumored that he was the one who killed that alien, so him having a powerful battle skill seems highly likely. One must know that aliens were Heaven Realm Experts and thus those below that realm would find it difficult to injure one heavily to the point of death.

.. … …

Lu Yin was one of the captains of the Punishment Battalion. Though he had no actual authority, the Punishment Camp assigned him a squad of 100 soldiers to him, allowing him the authority to command those 100 soldiers.

“Do you know where the hot weapons warehouse is stored?” Lu Yin asked faintly.

“Northwest from here,” The soldier replied.

Lu Yin pulled out a map. “Mark it for me to see.”

Lu Yin’s soldier took out a pen and drew a circle on the map.

Lu Yin nodded and looked at them. “You guys go back. I’m going to take a walk.”

The soldier could not help but say. “Captain, the armory was blown up at the beginning of the apocalypse. It only left behind a small amount of firearms thereafter. If you need them, you can request for one from the Punishment Saint.”

Lu Yin nodded once more. “Alright, got it. You and the others can go back now.”

With that, Lu Yin walked northwest alone.

On one hand, it was for him to dispatch his soldiers, and on the other hand, it was for them to monitor his current location. Lu Yin had no intention of hiding his location. Searching for something which was kept hidden was seeking a death sentence, so it’d be useless to search in secret. Alerting them was more convenient as he’s able to search openly. With his strength, it would not arouse too much suspicions.

Lu Yin’s guess was right. Soon as he left, someone reported his recent actions to Zhou Shan.

Zhou Shan’s eyes narrowed. “Weapon warehouse? What is he doing in that place?”

The charming bespectacled woman walked over and pushed the rim of her glasses up. “The weapon warehouse is already destroyed. What he’s looking for should not be weapons but something else. The only question is, what is he looking for?”

“Whatever. We have no secrets there.” Zhou Shan smiled.

… … …

With Mount Bell at the center, Jinling City shone brightly. The closer one was to Mount Bell, the better its geographical location, and the safer it would be for folks.

Outside of Mount Bell, people lived not in peace. Some lived on the streets, some on the cold ground, and some even near the rivers. They lived day after day in blind terror.

On the contrary, some lived to their fullest. The world’s moral boundaries crumbled to dust after the apocalypse. None could stop the wicked and the sinners. They could do whatever they wanted.

On the way to Lu Yin’s desired destination, he saw many evolved men humiliating the survivors without care for repercussions.

This was the state of the world he lived in. Earth had lost everything and gained everything.

Only Lu Yin knew that this was the beginning steps of evolution. If one civilization evolved, the price they would have to bear would be hefty.

Lu Yin looked up. The sky was gloomy. Soon, heavy rain began to fall and washed away the dirt on the ground. Red blood flowed along the water, mixed with all kinds of rubbish.

Lu Yin found a relatively clean restaurant and sat down.

Survivors all squatted in front of the restaurant’s entrance. Every time the restaurant carried out food trash, they would end up robbed crazily by the homeless.

“Get lost! Get away from here! If I see you again, I’ll send someone to deal with you all!” The waiter shouted. He was an evolved human.
