Ch72 Underworld Nobility

“Have you guys finished your matters?” Qi Mo glanced at Li Xin before looking at Li Hu and the others, a flash of ice flitting across his eyes.

Red Falcon and the rest exchanged a glance. Seeing  that Qi Mo’s face was expressionless, they couldn’t help pausing for a moment before saying, “Overlord, your body…”

“I”m not dead yet..” Those arrogant, cool, tempered four words instantly cut off Red Falcon’s words. They all simultaneously lowered their heads, saying at the same time, “Yes, we understand.” Finished, other than Li Hu, the others all quickly walked out of the room.

Qi Mo was still here and he still needed to stay under observation, if they were all here guarding him, then what about the Qi Clan; who would take care of everything? If outsiders were let to know that something life threatening happened to the overlord of the Qi Clan, who would dare to bear the mess it would create, and who would take the responsibility to clean everything up? Qi Mo’s injury slightly messed with their minds, but Qi Mo’s was clear, and he would not have that problem.

When Li Xin saw that with just a word Qi Mo had made Red Falcon and the rest leave, the power he exuded making one unable to say anything in rebuttal, she couldn’t help raising a brow and letting out a hint of a smile. Retrieving the clothing beside him, she reached a hand out towards Qi Mo.

When Qi Mo saw the hand Li Xin stretched out, he wordlessly sat down on the side of the machine, allowing Li Xin to dress him.

“Does it hurt?” As her fingers flexed, she brushed against the red marks on his body. Feeling his body tense slightly, Li Xin immediately retracted her hand as she looked up at him.

The maculation that had quickly appeared after his blood had been poisoned had signs of maturating. Li Xin originally thought that maculation like these were just the aftereffects of contamination and never thought that it would actually cause pain. Feeling Qi Mo’s muscles tighten, she immediately stopped.

Qi Mo lowered his head to look at Li Xin. Seeing only worry in her eyes and no other emotion, he reached his hand out to slowly rub her head, quiet for a while before slowly uttering, “It’s alright.”

The moment her words were out of her mouth, Li Xin immediately felt like she was simply too silly. Asking Qi Mo whether it hurt was like asking a table if it could speak; Qi Mo wouldn’t reply her. Moreover, did Qi Mo have pain receptors? When she went through the examination, she felt as if she had died and revived from the pain. Looking at his expression that seemed completely okay, as if he was merely sleeping, his brows not even scrunching at all, that was the reason why she looked at Qi Mo in surprise when he said those two words.

“Dress me.” Seeing that Li Xin wasn’t moving and just stared at him with a hint of surprise in her eyes, his face instantly darkened. His held her neck as he rebuked.

Li Xin went back to her senses in a flash and seeing the coldness in his eyes mixed with fury, quickly reached over to help Qi Mo put on his clothes. She was still much gentler, however seeing Qi Mo move around with no awkwardness or slowing down, as if he didn’t feel the pain on his body, Li Xin couldn’t help raising her brows. This Qi Mo wasn’t just physically strong but the toughest from his mind to his body.

“Overlord, it’s best if you could stay here for the next few days and cooperate with us.” When Li Hu saw Qi Mo stand up while holding Li Xin’s waist as if he was about to leave, he immediately moved to stand in front of him.

Qi Mo’s forehead instantly wrinkled. Before he said anything, Li Xin who he was leaning on instantly understood, and looking at Qi Mo she nodded and agreed, “Boss, your health is the most important, just get Red Falcon and the others to settle anything you need. This problem of yours isn’t some small matter.”

Li Hu nodded at the same time. “Indeed, overlord.”

Qi Mo’s eyes darkened as he swept an eye over the two, coldly saying, “Say it again.”

Hearing him say so, Li Xin could help but freeze. What did he mean? Was caring and worrying for him wrong, why did she have to repeat her words, if it weren’t for the fact that he had saved her life, heh, worry and care, he could only receive it in his dreams. In this life other than Sui Xin, she had never worried about others before.

When Li Hu heard Qi Mo’s words, he stopped slightly, biting out, “Overlord, Li Hu knows his wrongs. May overlord excuse my mistake.”

Qi Mo nodded slightly when he Li Hu’s words and held Li Xin’s waist he walked out. Li Xin’s brows instantly shot to the skies, and she twisted her head around to look at Li Hu. Li Hu quickly finished exchanging a few words with the old man before hurrying over.

When Li Hu saw Li Xin staring at him with a face full of doubts, he gently shook his head. “The clan members know that overlord has returned. If he doesn’t show his face then we might achieve the opposite effect. Plus, some things need to be personally settled by overlord.”

His mind had been completely clouded by his worries about Qi Mo in that moment and had forgotten about the overlord’s identity and the important matters in front of him. If the Qi Clan overlord didn’t show up, rumours and suspicions, sometimes, had huge powers behind them pushing things. They couldn’t let their opponents get any advantage over them. In his worry, he had actually forgotten about that.

Hearing Li Hu explain so calmly, Li Xin raised a brow. Li Hu’s words didn’t explain everything, but she could imagine what he meant to tell her. When she was still in the organisation, even if she was injured, even if a problem had appeared, she would still clench her teeth and not make a sound in order to make the people who had other thoughts about her or were her enemies unable to find a weakness they could make use of. It was a very simple fact, and be it an overlord like Qi Mo or on a person like her, was an undeniable truth.

Obediently doing her job, Li Xin walked over to the side of the car Li Hu had drove over, opening the door to let Qi Mo enter first before saying, “I’ll drive.” She didn’t know how to cure an illness, so now that Qi Mo was like this it was best to have Li Hu sit beside him so that he could give an examination anytime. Gleaning the meaning in the look Li Hu shot over, she understandingly gave way.

Before her body could move, Qi Mo caught her collar and pulled her in. Li Xin splayed onto Qi Mo’s lap, and before she could lift her head, his large palm had already pressed down on it, making her unable to lift her head to see what was the matter. She could only lie down on his thigh like this while propping up her body and trying not to put any pressure on his leg.

“Lie properly,” Qi Mo huffed. The strength he used increased and directly forced Li Xin down, making her lay firmly against both of his thighs. Seeing that, Li Xin didn’t insist, directly flopping down on his legs. He didn’t find it painful, so why would she bother if he was in pain or not.

‘Overlord, I just want…”

“Drive.” Li Hu had just started speaking when Qi Mo suddenly raised his voice, the look in his eyes already full of utter impatience. Li Hu could only grit his teeth when he saw that. Taking a deep breath, he turned and sat on the driver’s seat, revving the engine and starting towards the main house.

Lying on Qi Mo’s lap, feeling him slowly stroking her hair, as her face stuck to his thigh, she felt those strong muscles and secretly sighed again. It seemed that Qi Mo really treated his men well, no wonder Li Hu, Red Falcon and the others would so willingly sell their lives for him. Under this cold mask, was actually someone who would think for the good of others.

He was poisoned by radiation. Those red maculation probably were nothing good, and if one was in too close contact with it, the radiation would probably spread to or contaminate them too. That’s why Qi Mo wanted everyone else to stay a certain distance away. By only allowing her to get close, it was because he knew that she could withstand radiation.

Rubbing her head slightly against him, the corner of her mouth suddenly turned up. Having a boss like this was not bad. To willingly risk his life to save hers, to care for them, this was better than all the other bosses of the organisation she had met before, wayy better. Since Qi Mo wouldn’t let her go, then she would just be his underling. This time round, there was no need to force or threaten her; she was completely willing.

The car quickly stopped in front of the Qi Clan’s front gates. Lifting her head away from Qi Mo’s chest, Li Xin saw Li Hu slow down. The Qi Clan house looked grand, and when the huge doors slowly opened, there on both sides appeared neatly attired, extremely respectful servants. They had been standing in two rows long ago, not even daring to breath too loudly as they welcomed the car Qi Mo was sitting in as it slowly drove in.

Venerable, real veneration. The car slowly drove in as the number of servants on both sides increased. No matter what they were doing, whether or not they saw Qi Mo’s car rolling in, they all respectfully placed everything in their hand down, bowing and greeting him.

Cars that were constantly entering and exiting the house all stopped in an instant. Everyone, no matter who sat in the car, all quickly stepped out and bent at their waists to greet Qi Mo. Men and women that looked noble, cold, and high-class, all lowered their heads in fear and respect as they welcomed him.

Looking at the car slowly travel through the huge villa and all those people all bow and welcome him, that uniform movement, that respectful manner, that uptight atmosphere, Li Xin couldn’t help lifting a brow. This was an ability that only the underworld could have. This was Qi Mo’s power. Li Xin turned around to look at Qi Mo, and seeing his expressionless face, as if he was already used to this, she habitually rubbed her nose. This was the first time she had received such treatment, and couldn’t not admit that it really was quite cool.

拉风。

Stopping in front of the main building, Li Hu raised a brow at Li Xin in the rearview mirror and she immediately fixed her expression, pushing the door open and standing next to it before slightly bending her waist. Li Hu who had just gotten off the car was doing the same thing, helping Qi Mo out of the car. This darned influential clan’s rule.

Qi Mo didn’t have any other look on his face, coming out of the car with only a cold aura about him.

“Overlord.” All the people bowing their heads to welcome Qi Mo greeted at the same time.

Qi Mo snorted coldly the moment his cold eyes swept across a frowning person, coldly saying, “Continue with what you’re doing,” While walking towards the main house.

“Yes.” A uniform answer sounded, in only an instant, Li Xin saw everyone suddenly, as if they were bots that had received a command, stand moving at the same time. Those supposed to be leaving left, those going in and out continued on their way; old and young, male and females, all wordlessly and respectfully left to do their things. Seeing so, Li Xin quickly followed behind Qi Mo. The authority of an influential clan’s boss ah.

In the main building, Li Xin looked at that huge, black seat staying tall above the others. The moment Li Xin’s eyes landed on that seat, she knew that it was where Qi Mo sat. Above all status, above all powers, the seat the leader of a clan that was centuries old.

Qi Mo silently walked towards that seat and sat down. Li Xin saw that below the place Qi Mo sat was completely empty and couldn’t help hesitating slightly. Even if she had never seen it before, she had at least heard that in the underworld, the bigger their power, the older and more powerful a clan was, the more rules they had. The scene just now she had seen very clearly, and this position was not to be casually stood in. She hesitated for a while.

Li Hu saw Li Xin not knowing whether to sit or go somewhere else and so gently pushed her back while walking forward to sit at the seat below, third from the right from Qi Mo’s position, then purposely eyeing the position opposite him. Li Xin instantly understood that that was her position and immediately went over and stood there while slightly lifting a brow.

In less than fifteen minutes, in the entire villa, all those of importance and with a position had hurried over. Even Red Falcon, White Falcon, the four of them had rushed over. Li Xin saw Red Falcon standing at the first position left of Qi Mo, while below him was Yellow Falcon, and first on the right was White Falcon, then Black Falcon. Everyone had their own places. Li Xin secretly raised a brow; good thing she didn’t randomly pick a position to stand in just now.

Turning around, the huge main hall that looked neither like a guest hall nor meeting hall was already filled with people. Li Xin saw that there were the young and old among those who had come, however not a single one of them was female. All of them had a steady bearing as they stood in their own positions. Towards her as the only female in the hall, as well as the position she stood in, they all revealed surprised looks on their faces, however in the turn of an eye it had flittered past. If not for Li Xin’s eyes being quickly enough, she would never have caught that surprised, as well as look of suspicion in their gazes.

“Overlord.” From the moment Qi Mo entered this place until the last position had been filled and everyone in the hall bowed and greeted Qi Mo, everything took less than five minutes. Looking at the hundred and ten or so people in the great hall, Li Xin couldn’t help being secretly tongue-tied. They had all arrived so quickly.

“Overlord, other than the seventy-three people who are outside carrying out business, all hundred and seventeen people in the main house have arrived.” Yellow Falcon glanced at his watch before turning his body slightly towards Qi Mo to report.

Qi Mo nodded when he heard, his gaze sweeping across all those present. The moment his gaze landed on them, the iciness also came, and those under his gaze would all subconsciously lift their chests, receiving his gaze. Qi Mo nodded almost imperceptibly, coldly saying, “Very good.”

Listening to the conversation of the two, Li Xin hid the surprise in her eyes and looked at all those present. How come she didn’t know when Qi Mo summoned all these people here? She had been following beside him all along. It seemed that this place had some sort of rule and didn’t require a command. Li Xin couldn’t help sharpening her gaze as she looked again. It seems like being Qi Mo’s underling was no easy feat.

Yet she didn’t know that if there were no important matters then Qi Mo wouldn’t head directly to the main hall. If he went to the main hall, it meant that there were important matters to announce, and all the important figures had to assemble here within five minutes. At the time there would naturally be Qi Clan family rules waiting if they didn’t. In the Qi Clan, Qi Mo’s orders were everything. Qi Mo’s rules were the biggest form of restraint, whoever dared to disobey would have to have the ability to push Qi Mo off his seat, otherwise there was only death.

“Today, I summoned everyone here, for one thing only.” After Qi Mo’s icy eyes swept over the crowd, as his emotionless eyes landed on Li Xin, her eyes met his at the same time. Before Li Xin could react, beside her Yellow Falcon imperceptibly pushed her slightly, and she involuntarily took a step forward.

“Mu Li Xin. From today onwards, she will be the Qi Clan’s sixth guardian.” Qi Mo lifted his eyes to glance at Li Xin, slowly and solemnly declaring. His serious voice, as well as cold-blooded gaze, made the people below who had looked up in shock all swallow down the words that nearly went out of their mouths.

“Mu Li Xin, although she’s entered the clan not too long ago, however I’m sure everyone is aware of her contributions to the clan. In Southeast Asia, she saved the overlord and I multiple times and took down the Southeast Asian market for us. She cooperated with us to obliterate all our obstacles, and just based on her contributions of taking down the market as well as the many times she saved our lives, it is enough for her to sit on the position as the sixth guardian.” Just as Qi Mo finished speaking, Red Falcon looked at the shocked crowd, continuing steadily.

When the people below heard, they thought that this reason was a bit contrived. Although the Southeast Asian market could be considered to have been taken down by Li Xin for the Qi Clan, however this wasn’t that beneficial to the Qi Clan. There were many in the clan whose contributions were way higher than her, and yet not even they could sit in the hall as one of the six guardians. However, saving Qi Mo so many times definitely deserved a reward, and, most importantly, Qi Mo’s words were the saint’s degree in the Qi Clan. With a reason, with a backer, though her contributions weren’t enough to grant a seat on that position, the crowd could only open one eye and shut the other as they approved.

What they didn’t know was that Li Xin didn’t receive a position higher than what she deserved. Be it Juan’s munitions error or her hard work on the Technetium project, Li Xin had made huge contributions to them. Too bad these things couldn’t be publicised, thus, though in the eyes of the masses Li Xin lacked just that bit of persuasion, it wasn’t her fault.

Li Xin furrowed her brows slightly when she heard Red Falcon’s words. Seeing Qi Mo coldly staring at her, she couldn’t help straightening her back, and looking back at the people below her looking up at her, smiling slightly. She knew that in this centuries old household, power, ability, connections, were all very important. She had gotten gotten Qi Mo’s reward and was forcibly propped up. Although she said before that she wanted to become a good subordinate, however it didn’t mean that she had to summon the winds and rains with a wave of her hand in the Qi Clan. She wasn’t interested in that, so towards the seemingly polite people whose faces held unwillingness and a derisive look in their eyes, Li Xin didn’t feel uncomfortable at all.

Moreover she understood very clearly that Qi Mo publicising her status wasn’t so that she could carry the world, but because in this centuries old family, if she wanted to do as she pleased, without a position, she wouldn’t be able to smoothly complete anything. If she wanted to properly be Qi Mo’s subordinate, it was necessary to have some connections with these people. She understood Qi Mo’s intentions very clearly.

“Alright, you’re dismissed.” Having announced the thing he wanted to announce, Qi Mo waved his hand, standing up without saying anything extra.

“Yes, overlord.” The people in the hall bowed in uniform towards Qi Mo without the slightest intention to rebut his order. They all respectfully retreated as Qi Mo took the lead to leave. After Qi Mo and Li Xin and the rest had left, the people that had been retreating in the direction of the door finally left too.

Sitting in the room she had woken up in, Li Xin helped Qi Mo into a lighter set of clothes. While making some unavoidable contact with his skin, she took the medication Li Hu had handed over and applied it on the red patches. This medication for external use could only control and stop these maculation from maturating, but couldn’t reduce or absolutely control them.

“Overlord, I’ve already sent a small group of researchers over to Kaipur Mountain.” White Falcon single-handedly flipped through an information report that had been handed over while talking, his face so calm it was as if he hadn’t seen the maculation on Qi Mo’s body. Only those eyes that occasionally drifted over let Li Xin know of his worry.

Qi Mo leaned on the sofa with his torso bared, allowing Li Xin to apply medication on him. As he listened to White Falcon report, he nodded. “How is the situation?”

White Falcon replied, “The amount of Technetium found was lesser than we anticipated. There was only that layer we saw on the surface, and nothing at all underground. In about a radius of thirty kilometres, the total amount is probably only around a few thousand tons.”

Qi Mo furrowed his brows slightly when he heard. “Bring everything back. Nothing is to be left behind at that place.”

“Yes, I understand that. I’ve already instructed the people sent there to send all these Technetium ore back in the shortest amount of time, and if they can’t be imported back, then to directly destroy it for me.” White Falcon’s face was chilly as he answered. The fury in his eyes when he spoke of Technetium was felt even by Li Xin, who was wholeheartedly concentrated on applying the cream on Qi Mo.

“Destroy it? Why? It was so hard to find, why destroy it?” Li Xin looked up when she heard, and looked confusedly at White Falcon as she continued applying medication on Qi Mo.

White Falcon glanced at Li Xin, his face stern as he replied, “There are no gapless walls in this world. We had such huge movement there, the people watching us have long discovered that something was amiss. Rather than having them discover these things, we would rather destroy them all. Its existence was already a miracle, however to destroy this miracle is as easy as it could be.” Li Xin immediately raised her brows as she looked at White Falcon. Movement, what movement? Hadn’t everything been carried out in secret.

-tofu- no gapless wall = no secret that will never be leaked

Seeing Li Xin frown slightly while looking at White Falcon, Yellow Falcon coldly answered for him. “I sent people to bomb the entirety of that part of the mountain.”

The moment Yellow Falcon found out that overlord and the others had gotten into an accident there, and Qi Mo had even had his blood directly contaminated, which was a type of radiation poisoning that had no cures, he didn’t care about the South East Asian matters  and rushed to Africa in a pique of fury, coincidentally meeting up with Red Falcon who had also hurried over. They straightaway called over a few dozen bombers jets, securing the entire area before dropping bombs the entire day. That part of the mountain was completely blasted to black ash, and after ensuring that there was no life left surviving, the two finally managed to vent all their anger and rushed back in the night to America. Such big movement, it would have been weird for people to not notice.

When Li Xin heard Yellow Falcon say so, she immediately lowered her head quietly. When Li Hu, who had constantly been preparing medicines for Qi Mo, saw Li Xin lower her head, he couldn’t help growling at her, “What kind of expression is that? Are you seriously still pitying those perverted bastards?! If not for them, would overlord become like this? Hmph, dropping those bombs on them was letting them off cheaply, if it were me, I would have the skins of each and everyone of them peeled off, then give them a good whipping, letting them rather die than continue living.”

He didn’t see how the others’ reacted, but the moment he heard Li Xin pitying these aboriginals and saw the way she was acting, he immediately felt a wave of fire rushing up. When Red Falcon and the rest heard Li Hu say that Li Xin was still pitying those aboriginals, they instantly turned to look at her with darkened faces.

When Qi Mo heard her words, a light immediately flashed past his eyes. Pinching Li Xin’s jaw, she lifted up her lowered head. Seeing her incensed expression, how did this seem like pity.

Li Xin’s eyes burned with rage as she glared at Qi Mo. She raged, “You only know to bomb them now, why didn’t you just do so at the beginning? Then I wouldn’t have needed to be scared half to death and neither would you have been poisoned by that damn radiation. What the heck, have y’all turned into idiots to do all these dangerous life-threatening shit! Fucker, all these injuries on my body, which retard didn’t know how to ensure that everything was safe before going there?”

The moment she finished her talking, Li Hu, Red Falcon and the others instantly went mute. Looking at the ferocity in her eyes, it looked as if she wanted to eat Qi Mo up. That infinite regret in them made them not help looking at one another and just stay silent and not reply her. What type of pity was this even, this was basically a hatred so strong that she couldn’t wait to turn those people to ashes.

The moment Li Xin heard Yellow Falcon’s word, she was angered to death. Bomb them earlier and everything would’ve been alright. They had all those munitions to use; were they just displays? To actually make her personally risk her life, go to hell, that was going overboard. They nearly caused her to be unable to return, her great and wonderful life ah.

Qi Mo pinched Li Xin’s chin and seeing the fury instantly start burning on her face and those eyes that were glaring at Yellow Falcon making him feel slightly helpless too, he couldn’t help lightly saying, “Does it hurt?”

At Qi Mo’s question, Li Xin couldn’t help being dazed momentarily. Then she honestly nodded her head. Her whole body was hurting, and it was better if not mentioned, but the moment it was mentioned she felt that there was nowhere on her body that didn’t emanate pain. And so her hatred towards those perverted human aberrations increased, because if not for them, why else would she be having such a painful time right now.

When Qi Mo saw that, he gestured with his hands, and Red Falcon and the other four guys exchanged a glance before going out at the same time.

Seeing everyone retreating and only him and Li Xin was left, Qi Mo gripped Li Xin’s elbow, forcing her onto his lap while the other hand quickly tore open her clothes.

“What are you doing?” Being pressed by Qi Mo into his thigh, Li Xin couldn’t help struggling.

“There’s no one, don’t move.” Qi Mo patted Li Xin’s wriggling back, raising his voice while tearing her shirt apart, looking towards the injuries on her back.

When Qi Mo saw her entire back full of wounds, with one especially prominent line of dark bruises on her waist making the injury-filled back look even more tragic, his forehead instantly wrinkled, and taking some medication for wounds Li Hu had left behind, started rubbing it on Li Xin’s back.

Li Xin instantly took in a breath of cold air and stopped struggling atop Qi Mo’s thighs. It was rare of Qi Mo to want to help her apply medication in a people-less place, so even if his movements were rather heavy-handed, she could still take it. As she felt Qi Mo rubbing the medication over the injuries on her back, she felt that that strength was way gentler than the aboriginal’s by many many times. Thinking of how last time, Qi Mo was so rough it seemed as if he wanted to kill her, now, barely even a few days later, she actually felt that Qi Mo was actually not bad and definitely did not want to kill her; that amount of pressure was as average as it could be.

Lying on his leg, Li Xin looked at the patches of red on Qi Mo’s skin, suddenly asking, “Boss, why did you come and save me?”
