A wounded lion is much more ferocious than any.

HabinJing

New year was before ones reach.  Whilst the Emperor's health was an issue in general to everyone and the unfortunate events few days ago really did stir up things, it couldn't be compared to the current situation.

Yes. Officials with the families maidens selected as possible royal consort were at the edge of their seats  but Now So Were the princes. The Cold weather was a joke to how everyone felt at that instance.  The atmosphere within the large dark wood room was suffocating the innocent souls under the pressuring silence. With heavy coats enveloping these youths body giving out a grand appearance, it was overshadowed by the looks on their faces and the clouds that floated.

"So.... "looking around the princes uncomfortably, Feng Ji Yan the eldest son Of the marquis Feng with an attempt to break the silence got sixteen pair of eyes on himself.  Placing a heavy Jug of wine he proudly gloated. "You're All very funny.  Killing yourselves over such matters "

Feng Ji Yan was your regular Elderly person.  Been the Eldest of the group At twenty-two of age and these youths tutor, he felt it his duty to relieve their worries.  Or rather his.  Within the room facing off everyone seated at the top chair was the crown Prince.  He wasn't a student of HabinJing so His appearance placed everyone on edge except a certain masked prince carrying an aloof and arrogant air will him.

If Ji Hua Lan was told he'd step a foot at this place, he'd not believe.  His night was not peaceful at all.  Having a strange dream, he kept seeing a woman in her early prime in an all white gown tainted in blood.  Her skin was flawless and had a slender body that looked a little meaty and fresh off spring water.  Her hair was ebony black and flowed like an endless River.  Her face was unrecognisable as it was blood tainted.  This person kept repeating his name.  The dream was in a scene of blank colourless world as though they were the only one alive.  And then he saw himself been swallowed by the world of darkness.  And then the dream changed to a very different  woman in all black And she wore the phoenix crown on.  And right below her were dead bodies of more people than he'd seen in his life. And Right behind her he saw a man.  His hands tightened around her throat but he himself had a sword piercing through him.  He could not make out the people.  But Right Below these two dragons was the very woman dressed in white.  Repeating his name and saying phrases his mind could not capture. And then he jolted awake with A piercing pain in his guts.  It was so painful and real that he forgot about the dream at first.  But Remembered It later that night  when it occurred over and over.  Waking up with that pain.  Conclusion.  Someone Cursed him.  And then having to wake up fatigued with dark circles only to get a news that sent shivers down his spine. He Couldn't take it and decided to take a stroll outside the palace but Only found himself been pulled here by his youngest brother, Prince Young.

Without Waiting for further words he served himself a cup and took a sharp drink of it. And pulled forward for a second serve. Out of habit Prince Ji served his brother with courtesy and an elegant smile on his face.  With the other princes taking suit to serve themselves and relieving the tension.

"Hope his Highness likes it.  This Wine originates from Fa province.  Aren't I right teacher Feng"Prince Arch said bashfully with a 180° smile on his face. Feng Ji Yan sweat profusely.  Fa province? He wasn't aware at all.  All he said was find me the best wine you can or else am gonna die.  To say it came from Fa province, he wanted to die.  Everyone knows how things went down for the past two months. And How picky the royal family was.  Especially the crown Prince who always had a set of perfected plates.  And also a former crown prince who in his eyes was unpredictably mischievous.  Not in negative attitudes but In facts that you could never guess What Was going on with him.

"Not important. " Ji Hua Lan dismissed absently taking another drink. With A mocking attitude in other  Prince Mind and stealing glances at Prince Arch to see his reaction only to  see a casually smiling faced prince.

"Very important.  This wine is polluted."Price Xi sixteenth royal cousin declared.

"Forgive me.  This Official wasn't aware"Feng Ji Yan  apologised.

"If his highness says it is okay.  Then it is. Why Fret over something so Trivial? "Prince Ji did not hesitate to interrupt any more discussions on this matter.  Wine will lead to other imperial matters that was not necessarily needed to be shared.

"What do you mean? "Prince YOUNG questioned His brother.  Looking At Prince Arch, Feng Ji Yan congratulated this person.  His ability to distract others was not comparable.

But only if he knew what was really going in this persons mind, he would not be standing gazing at him.  Selling himself off like this was not good.   Others may not have realized but he himself and believing that Ji Hua Lan must have also noticed.  There was a current like mild hostility between these brothers.  Looking Down into his lap,  prince Arch hands played with the mini knife in his sleeve. He Hated drama and pretence.  All these people seated here, all were pretending.  Maybe except Prince Young?

Unconsciously, he shook his head which Did not go unseen by a couple of eyes.  Sweeping his eyes across he looked at the six pretenders.

Crown Prince.

Prince Ji.

Prince Xi.

Prince Han.

Prince Lee.

Prince Gui.

He was exhausted.  And Looking at the little ruckus he had stirred he felt relieved.  Best way to prevent an attack is distraction.   Keep your enemy occupied and he won't have enough time to plan your destruction.

Recalling his busy night, he sighed inwardly. He had to clean up a certain careless person tracks.  Cleaning up after people felt degrading but Worth it.  After all.  That was what The message meant.  Standing Up abruptly, a deafening silence fell. Adjusting his dark fur coat he looked at Ji Hua Lan with a blank expression which he got back in return.  As though talking in telepathy, Ji Hua Lan stood up and followed his rival out.  A dark shadow passed over Prince Ji with an unfanthomable smile.

"WHAT DID THE CODE SAY? "

"SUFENG"

Taking a drink himself at last and ignoring his talkative younger brother, a smile displaced on his lips.  A smile so Genuine and pure that Feng Ji Yan did not need to be told and walked out to do his duty.  He had already found his target.  All needed now was support.  And the game is set for play.

Clad in white with a white fan resting lazily against him, he looked into the distance.  He Looked inferior to Prince Arch in every way.  He was older and  a crown prince but standing beside the slightly shorter person clad in black, it looked like the latter was rather the next king in line.  Any person that looked at these people in distance will see it easily. Ji HUA lan looked too kind, baby faced, with sparkling eyes.  His features were rather normal and his presentation was lazy.  He looked more carefree whilst Prince Arch was an exception.  He had this lazy arrogant  aura enveloping him.  He Walked straight and properly like A General and with his height that kept shooting creamed up with his character, all needed was a golden robe and the job was done.  His appearance already screamed confidence. Something everybody needs.  Putting his jealousy aside, Ji Hua lan initiated conversation hanging unto his rival for support as they walked..

"What Is it?  Finally going to mock me?  Show me who you truly are?""

"Haven't You always known?  If you are still referring to the throne.  I will say it again. ... "

"I Know You do not desire.  Hmpft.  I cannot believe my bestfriend will someday Turn to be my rival"

"Am Your worst enemy "

"I know.  Am really useless right? "

"You're pathetic. "

"I know we've never been in good terms.  And i know i repeat myself more often than necessary but if someday We can put our differences apart, "

"You don't really hate me do you? "

"Yes.... . i do..... hm "

"A drunk man is an honest man"

"How do you survive "

"Ji Hua Lan! "

"Y-yes..? "

"To pity is to wish for death.  To be merciful is to be foolish "

"..."

With a strong push Prince Arch handed Ji Hua Lan to his coachman who gave a bow and carried his master back to the palace.

Looking pensively at the retreating carriage with a pitiful look, Prince Arch Spoke softly to himself In a trance.

"In This lifetime i will not make you Emperor. If it means to hurt her all over "Looks up to the Sky. "What A pity. "

To All royals the most frightening news right now is the news of the pregnancy of the Empress.  But The greatest fear in reality lies within the grand imperial Chambers of the dragon.

The devil has just woken up.
