Chapter 112: Butyric Acid Bomb

The International Whaling Commission had announced the cessation of commercial whaling since 1986, and only a few countries had been allocated a share in scientific whaling. However, this perfunctory regulation was of no significance to Japan where numerous whale catchers continued with their activities. They took pleasure in being reviled by tens of thousands of people around the world, as they acted as a catalyst in whale extinction.

The two vessels, one red and one white, one big and one small, both set up a few high pressure water pumps and shot at the people on the side of the ship. The white ship had probably been specially modified to drive out whale catchers with its extremely powerful high pressure water pumps. A man wearing a white headscarf was shot right in the chest by the high pressure water jets the moment he came out from the cabin of the whaling ship. He screamed and bawled as he got thrown back into the cabin by the huge impact.

"Nice one, Casey!" On the white ship, a mustached man in his thirties wearing a jacket with a "Greenpeace" logo whistled after he saw his partner hit the target.

"Baynes, quick get a butyric acid bomb here, I wanna stink these shorties to death!" Casey hid behind a specially welded protective steel plate, flinging her wet hair as she stared at the whaling ship without turning back.

"Okay!" The blonde mustached guy, Baynes bawled and quickly rushed into the cabin. A butyric acid bomb was a pale yellow "bomb" made from transparent oily liquid extracted from stale butter which was poured into glass bottles to be thrown. Its smell was extremely unpleasant, like a huge piece of butter placed in a bucket and fermented for ten years. Even pigs will vomit non-stop after smelling it, so it was most suitable to use on this group of evil guys.

"F*ck you!" Casey cursed. They had been tracking the location of this whaling ship for more than twenty days. During this period, they had used various calculation methods such as latitude and longitude estimation and radio location, which locked in the whale's active area. They even used a satellite phone to call her incomprehensible Chinese classmate, asking him to use Chinese astrology to estimate the location of this whaling ship before finally finding traces of it. However, by the time they rushed over, a killer whale had already been killed.

Uh-oh! Twenty seconds later, Baynes wore an industrial face mask and dashed out of the cabin carrying two big yellow plastic boxes. Hiding under the deck, Casey opened the yellow plastic box, exposing the ten pale yellow glass bottles inside to the air. A foul smell shot past the face mask and went right into Baynes' head.

"Argh…" Casey turned away in disgust, as if she had seen a decayed corpse, and then grabbed a "bomb" with her right hand that was covered in a plastic glove.

"Buddies, let's stink these devils to death!" Casey shouted to the seven or eight fighters beside her before throwing the "bomb" over with all her strength.

"Stink these devils to death!" This group of whaling protesters from all over the world grabbed the butyric acid bombs and threw them at the whaling ship.

"Baka…" The moment the twenty devils on the deck of the Twilight No. 9 whaling ship saw the glass bottles being thrown over, they widened their eyes in shock and quickly threw away the high pressure hydraulic pumps in their hands before frantically escaping into the cabin.

Bang! Bang! Bang! The pale yellow glass bottles hit the deck and sputtered! At that moment, a putrid foul smell beyond description and human thinking spread rapidly on the deck. The smell was so toxic that even the microorganisms on the deck were suffocated to death by the smell.

"Argh…" Before he could rush to the cabin, the devil who ran the slowest raised his head, shooting out white and yellow vomit into the sky.

"Get out!" Even the whaling protesters who were more than ten meters away could not stand the strong smell. With the sea breeze blowing, the group of courageous fighters covered their noses and slipped into the cabin before shutting the door and crowded in front of the enclosed porthole to observe the situation.

"Argh, it's this bunch of Greenpeace protectors again!" The captain Kato Yamato pounded the stainless steel table at the side. "Why aren't we equipped with gas masks when we're out in the sea?"

"Captain, why don't we kill them with harpoon guns?" A short, ugly-looking man at the side said ferociously.

"Baka!" Kato Yamato gave him a tight slap, taking it out on him. "You want to be shredded by all the environmental protesters around the world?"

"Set the sail, quick, we have to shake off this bunch of lunatics!" Kato Yamato knocked away a few men as he walked to the side of the rudder and pressed the start button. The red whaling ship shook fiercely on the spot before giving off a loud metal screeching sound.

"Baka!" Veins appeared on the raging Kato Yamato. "What's going on?"

Just when everyone in the cabin was puzzled as to why the ship stalled, the Greenpeace anthem in English traveled to the ears of everyone. A black, fully-enclosed assault boat with the words "Get lost, Japanese monkeys" on it dashed to the front of the whaling ship, howling loud music with its ten high-pitched speakers.

"Argh!" Kato Yamato took off his clog and threw it at the glass in front of him.

...

"What an eye-opener!" Chen Fan was stunned watching this drama from afar. Just a moment ago, when the two ships were surrounded by the strong, butyric acid smell and everyone was hiding in the cabin, he had clearly seen a black assault boat slip out from the back of the white ship.

The assault boat quickly got to the back of the whaling ship and the hatch of the boat was opened from the inside. Two muscular, black guys came out from inside, each holding a bundle of steel cables as thick as a thumb, and threw them toward the propeller of the whaling ship. The steel cables fell into the water and hung right on the propeller!

The two propellers of the whaling ship made a few violent rotations, giving out a series of cringing winch sounds. After struggling for more than ten seconds, the 2,500-horsepower heavy oil engine finally broke the steel cables, rapidly pushing the whaling ship forward to escape.

"Baynes, quick start the ship and go after them!" Casey who was wiping the water off her hair with a towel, saw the other other part escaping and quickly pushed Baynes to the side of the rudder.

"Yes!" Baynes quickly stepped to the side of the rudder. The propeller of the white ship rotated madly and followed the whaling ship closely.

"Two bunches of lunatics!" Chen Fan watched for a long while before he was able to suppress his hot-bloodedness and refrain himself from getting involved in it. Although he really wanted to send the whaling ship to the bottom and make a contribution to Greenpeace International, it was broad daylight after all, and scuttling a ship in front of those protectors would definitely give rise to much speculation.

The two ships were getting further away. Chen Fan controlled the electric eel to search a few rounds to fill its stomach before swimming toward the southern part of Guam.

Ten hours later, when the electric eel arrived in between Palau and Guam, Chen Fan settled the eel down and retrieved his thoughts. The time difference at both sides was almost a day apart. It was sunny at the eel's side but dark in Zhongyun.

"Sleep!" After dinner, Chen Fan mumbled while he held his pillow.

Latitude 9.24 degrees and longitude 139.2 degrees…

A few flashlights from afar suddenly projected on to the sea surface that was gradually getting dark. Two ships, one red and one white cut through the waves at full steam.

"Baka!" Kato Yamato, captain of Twilight No. 9, was burning with rage. The white ship behind had been chasing them for a day like a sticky candy, using all sorts of stuff like hydraulic pumps, paints and butyric acids.

Bang! Just as his voice trailed off, a loud sound came from the porthole on the left. A vodka bottle filled with black asphalt was thrown over by some strong guy. After the porthold was damaged, the black asphalt from inside the bottle mixed with the shattered glass and splashed onto Kato Yamato's face.

"Ahhh…" Kato Yamato covered his face which was full of glass fragments and asphalt. He clenched his teeth and looked furious, as if he had just gotten the results of a DNA test that his son was not his biological son.

"Gunman!" Kato Yamato bawled. "Kill them with harpoon guns!"

"Hai!" The man who got slapped the day before quickly replied. He removed the white towel from his forehead and bound it around his mouth before opening the hatch and running toward the bow. He loaded the gun at one go and turned the gun the other way to point at the white ship, and fired!

Boom! Chen Fan jumped up from his bed. The muffled explosion sound from the electric eel's ears woke him up from his dreams.

"Why is it them again?" Chen Fan opened his eyes wide after shifting his thoughts onto the electric eel. The two ships yesterday were floating side by side above the eel at the water surface more than 300 meters away where the electromagnetic induction would not detect.

"They've opened fire?" The explosion sounded very much like the firing sound of the whaling ship the day before.

Bang! Just as Chen Fan was feeling uncertain, another dull explosion reached the water surface. Chen Fan could see clearly this time. There was a spark on the bow of the red whaling ship followed by a loud metal clang from the white ship.

"Damn, these lawless little devils!" Anger rose from the tail of the electric eel to its head, burning Chen Fan's thoughts. Although harpoon guns were not cannonballs, it would still be terrible if it hit a human body. Since the devils weren't afraid of committing evil when the sky was dark, neither was Chen Fan!

"On a dark and stormy night, murder and arson take place!" Chen Fan recited some poetry and then controlled the electric eel as it clutched the forty-ton metal alloy pike, and swam toward the bottom of the whaling ship.
