The second day of hospital stay.

David continued with his unconscious performance in the medical building. His treatment was practically the same. He was feed nourishment with a stone and his body was cleaned and cared for by the nurses. One nurse in particular seemed fond of scrubbing his manhood when she bathed him. It was troublesome to remain calm...but enjoyable nonetheless.

Besides enjoying his unsanctioned intimacy with the nurse, David had decided to do a little mental exploring. Since he didn't plan on spending all his time in the soul space, David observed the real world within the oasis with his soul perception during the day. With his new strength, he could lay in his hospital bed and quietly observe the entire town.

To his surprise, some areas completely blocked his perception. After thinking over this issue for a while, he realized that this must be due to some sort of amulet or talisman used to block eavesdropping. Remembering Mr. Harvey's office, David focused on the room for a while. Sure enough, David could see the room but once Mr. Harver took out and activated the sphere from his desk....David's perception was blocked.

To his delight, David noticed that a commotion broke out in the medical building shortly after the sun came up. One of the town advisers had lost his mind and was currently raging in restraints in a room in the hospital. From what David could overhear, the man had woke up in the morning in terror that he was going to be attacked by demons. For some reason, the situation became even worse when he saw his wife smile at him at breakfast. He had lost control of himself and....attacked and killed his wife while calling her a "demon whore" the entire time. David was thrilled with the result of his dream manipulation. These events fit very well with his plan to descend this small oasis town into chaos.

The whole situation was very public and cause an increased amount of tension in the oasis town. Adding to the mess, two of the town's guards were also found randomly dead in their quarters. Residents of the oasis were saying that the insanity of the adviser and the unexplained deaths were a bad omen of things to come. The entire situation was made even worse when one of the Demigods had said that the threat of demons didn't need to be considered important. According to this town leader, the issue was a random occurrence and it wasn't a real threat. Everyone was in fear of a possible demon attack but no precautions were being made by one of the Demigods in charge. Problems were brewing.

David spent the entire day observing the residents' panic and fear about the situation. The situation was just what he wanted to see.

These people thought that they could keep him as a slave....fine...but they will have to pay the price for their actions.

When nighttime came around, David decided he needed to do one important thing before waging a full out war in this oasis town. He needed to investigated the other two Demigods. Previously, he had easily messed with the Level 1 Fire Demigod to create some tensions in the town.

Now he needed more details on the other two Demigods. If he could easily remove the three Demigods in charge....he would basically be able to do as he wishes in the town.

With a thought, David appeared in the soul space. With focus, he quickly recognized the locations of the town's three Demigods.

Assuming that the nearest one was the Demigod he manipulated the previous time, David headed for the furthest Demigod orb.

Arriving at the orb's location, David instantly felt a different feeling than the first one. This Demigod orb was much more powerful. The dream orb was orbited by four smaller orbs. It appeared to be a Level 4 Demigod. The first Demigod orb that David had messed with was only a Level 1 Demigod.

After thinking it over, David assumed that he would have the same easy success as the time previously. He also had some assurance since he was now a Level 2 Demigod. After a few successful advances, he was feeling slightly arrogant. After all, he had never had a single issue with lack of power in the soul space before.

After casually approaching, David tried to bypass the four concept orbs to enter the Demigod's dream orb. As he moved closer, one of the small concept orbs suddenly moved forward and rammed David's body. Upon contact, David felt as if something had locked his body and stabbed him in his heart.

Locked in position for a moment, David started to defend himself out of reflex. He exerted his will and soul strength to shield his own soul from the attack. As soon as he felt some of the attack pressure lifted, David backed away to separate from the Demigod's orbs.

Sensing his retreat, the orb quickly pursued and impacted into David again. This time he wasn't hit with the full strength of the attack, but managed to deflect some of the impact. Still feeling the pain from the attack, David continued to back away. Once he was around 100 feet away from the Demigod's orb, it no longer pursued him in attack.

Immediately, David warned Misery through their mental connection, "Don't attack any of the Demigod orbs. This one just hurt me pretty badly." His overconfidence had almost killed him. This was the first time he had a setback in the soul space.

"Are you okay? Do you need my help?," Misery asked with great concern in her voice.

"Yes, I want to go check the last one real quick. Come with me Incase something goes wrong," David said.

Drifting off, he met up with Misery and cautiously approached the orb of the remaining Demigod. He keep a distance of 100 feet to avoid a possible attack.

When he reached the location, he was surprised by what he saw. This Demigod had two concept orbs orbiting the dream orb, but the main orb also had a thin glowing membrane surrounding it.

"Fuck. What is that?," David asked. Of course, Misery didn't respond. She knew David was just venting some frustration.

"Let's go. I feel so stupid sometimes....My godmother had said that this world is some backcountry place that didn't know shit about the soul....but that surely makes life difficult," David said mostly to himself.

Pissed by his lack of success with the two other Demigods, David told Misery to go find another guard to kill. He wasn't happy and wanted to take it out on something.

David also went to find a guard to kill himself. This wasn't entirely out of anger. He needed a boost after loosing most of his soul energy in the conflict with the Demigod's soul. By his judgement, the attack defense had cost him about 90 percent of his stored soul energy. He needed a recharge.

It didn't take him long before he found a perfect target to execute. After killing the man, the boost of soul energy from the Level 5 Foundation Stage guard lifted David's soul energy from about 10 percent to around 35 percent.

Even with the boost, he needed sometime to recover. He decided that he really needed to rethink his position. There were just too many unknowns and his assumptions could get him killed. Trying to get his mind in order, David sat in the darkness watching Misery scurry about between orbs looking for her perfect prey.

Towards the end of the night, David saw a scantily clad Lili appear in the soul space.

"Greetings, Lili. I hope that you have some good news for me. The situation in this town is steadily declining," David said without any emotion on his face.

"Apologies, Lord Night...I have not been able to send notice to my mistress. The security has been very strict tonight And I couldn't get out to send notice....I don't know what is going on..." Lili said.

'Fuck, I guess I screwed myself on this one,' David thought to himself before responding. He guessed his incident with the Demigod had caused a fuss.

"Will you still be able to get the word out? Or does the commotion in town mess up the plan," David asked.

"I'm...I'm unsure. If the opportunity comes, I will take the chance...but it will be difficult," Lili said in a sweet voice.

She seemed to have this odd habit of pausing mid-sentence to check her words before speaking.

"Okay....don't take too many risks....I'll be able to maintain contact for another week at least....hopefully this mess settles down...stay in touch...," David said while starting to walk away, "Excuse us. Misery and I have somewhere to be."

"Lord Night, how can I reach you?...Do you hold a position somewhere in the town....that I can visit?," Lili asked.

"No, Lili. I do not hold any position in the town.....But I am aware of everything that is going on in the town....you just have to say my name three times....and I will know who you are....and I can find you," David said emotionlessly.

Regardless of his pissed off mood, David had almost bust out laughing at his own comment....what was he?...a fucking evil spirit that appears when you says it's name multiple times into a mirror...He must have watched too many horror movies as a kid...

All he was doing was playing a game with Lili. He could tell Lili was trying to draw information out of him. He had given her a few bits of information....he didn't have a position in town...and he is powerful enough to know everything that was happening in the oasis. He wanted to see what she could figure out...he wanted to scare her...he was pissed over the Demigod issue.....and he was bored from laying in bed all day.

The third day of hospital stay.

David was still laying in bed playing unconscious in the hospital. Once the sun came up, all hell started to break lose in the oasis town. Two other notable guards had randomly died in their sleep.

The Demigods in charge of the oasis town finally couldn't ignore what was happening and began taking action. Of course, the people didn't know that the main reason for their interest was that one of the Demigods had fought off David's soul the night before. Based on the Demigods' determinations, the town had been infiltrated by a demon with some type of mind power. The demigods and guards were currently on the hunt. The Demigods also initiated a curfew in the oasis town during the night. The number of guard patrols were also increased so that patrols could be seen all the time throughout the little oasis town.

David thought that this was both hilarious and troublesome. A curfew and guard patrols wouldn't make the the threat he posed go away. And there was no way that they would suspect a weak, unconscious slave in the hospital. He thought that he had the perfect cover for his plot. However, his botched investigation into the demigods had left him with so many questions.

That night, David and Misery took a break from killing. David wasn't even close to recovering his full soul power and Misery was consolidating her recent gains.

Misery was already making wonderful progress in her development. David estimated that he could begin the process of helping her form a body with the consumption of around 10 more foundation stage cultivator souls.

Although they didn't kill anyone, one prominent adviser was tormented to be afraid of clothes in his dreams and ended up running through town naked asking every Alloc beast for forgiveness during the early morning hours. It was comical for David and caused sensational hysteria in the town. The residents had trouble deciding between laughing or worrying more.

The fifth day of hospital stay.

On the fifth day of his manipulations, the town residents had begun to panic. This actually had nothing to do with David. A small caravan that arrived in Manco town had brought word of an attack on another oasis by demons. The recent events coupled with the possibilities in people's imaginations....caused quite a few incidents. The residents were actually demanding action by demigod leaders. One particular demigod was taking some serious heat from the residents because of his prior failure to act upon warnings by the town advisors.

To David's surprise, Lili had shown up again right before sunup. The woman asked a few more questions before leaving. Of course, David could resist toying with the woman and gave her a few more clues. She still had not left to spread word of his willingness to help.

Because of the rapid escalation of the situation, David decided to take it easy and recover for the next couple of days.

The sixth day of hospital stay.

The town was in full battle mode. All soldiers were mobilized and a request for reinforcements were sent to the Nazca City. From what David could understand, Nazca City wouldn't send reinforcements right away. It would be roughly one month until the reinforcements arrived. Realizing that he may have progressed his plan a bit to quickly, David decided that he would actually speed up the attack and finish everything before the reinforcements arrived.

Just as David was about to initiate his plan, a nurse entered his room and locked the door. The attractive red haired nurse was one that had cared for David several times over the last couple of days. She was also the nurse who seemed to like fondling his man junk.

After entering the room, she turned to look at David's body laying on the bed. She walked over and performed a quick check on David's condition. Once she confirmed that he was unconscious, she walked over to the side of the room and quietly whispered, "Night. Night. Night. I need help."
