Watching the man, she loved to save her life once again and then lose him in the blink of an eye broke her heart. Laying there on the ground in disbelief, Lucy felt cheated. Why had fate allowed them to meet only to lose him again? Could she even win against this fate of hers and now what did she have to live for?

While lost in shock, a voice whispered to her, "If you had let me take over, I would have prevented his death."

Even the Sphinx let go of her anger. She just sent away the first human in a long time she approved. Even though the old lioness hated Adam, the giant Sphinx always looked after the earth and its humans. She treated them sternly but always fair.

"I need to send one of my children after him." She thought to herself.

A powerful aura exploded from Lucy. Death mana circulated through the area. She quickly passed through each stage of shattering her core and advanced into the next level of forming her avatar all the way. Lucy had entered the late phase of Avatar Establishment. Her long blonde hair turned a pale white-yellow color, and her aura was very dominating.

The great beast looked at the girl and realized why she was so familiar to that demon of a man. Then the girl emanating death walked over and said to her, "My Mau Mau." Lucy voice was different but had a tone in which it seemed these two knew each other from a long time ago.

The cat's eyes opened widely, and the Sphinx kneeled showing her respect. "Master, it has been ages."

Everyone remaining, and the entire pack of Sphinx beast was dumbfounded. How did these two know each other?

Reiner looked on, and a single tear swept down his face. he whispered in a low tone, "My niece is gone." He walked forward and knelt, "Your majesty it is I, Reiner Nightengale, the 87th Blood Knight at your service."

The woman walked over and placed her hand on Reiner's shoulder. "Thank you for protecting this vessel, and I forgive you for helping her in her pursuit."

Reiner twitched for a second but felt relief knowing he would not be punished for loving his niece more than his mission.

She then looked back at the Sphinx. "I'm glad I took the chance of tricking my vessel into coming here. I knew if you were alive, you'd still be messing with humans like you always have. So, you have my thanks Mau Mau for my return."

Reiner felt a bit of pain in his heart when he heard she had tricked Lucy, but there was no way around it now.

The woman looked to the remaining contestants. "These trials are over. Choose to either serve me or die." Lilith said as she spread her domineering aura of mana over them.

The mermanian, draconian, and Usdem looked at each other in confusion and fear. They couldn't keep up with all that just transpired in mere seconds it happened.

After a few short breaths, the draconian stepped forth and said, "I only serve my race." Even though he knew he had no foot to stand on, he couldn't betray his people.

"I cannot as well," responded the mermanian.

Usdem looked at Reiner. The proud soldier he had served with the past few months had just disowned the Angel Corps to join this woman who was clearly no longer the Lucy he knew.

The kneeling knight turned around to look at his first friend in a long time. His face telling Usdem to please bend the knee.

Usdem sent Reiner a mana message, "I'm sorry my friend, you know I can't." The wounded winged-human looked at the woman and said, "I live and die for the Angel Corps."

Lilith turned around and looked at the giant beast. "Mau Mau, kill them." She couldn't have any untrusted beings knowing she had returned.

The giant lioness nodded. A single mana blast shot from the Sphinx, and upon contact with the mermanian, he disappeared without a trace.

Fear spread across the draconian face. "I wish to serve you." He barely could finish saying it before a second blast obliterated him.

Reiner stood up immediately and said, "Let me do it." He stepped in between the Sphinx and Usdem.

Lucy gave the massive beast a nod telling her she approved. So the Sphinx backed off.

Reiner walked over and gave his friend a hug. Usdem smiled. He understood if the roles were reversed, he would do the same for the Angel Corps.

"Safe travels my friend."

"May you live long."

Reiner stabbed Usdem through the heart, giving the man a quick and painless death. The man fell limp in his hands, and he laid him onto the ground. He turned around and faced them.

"Thank you," Reiner said with a tinge of sadness.

Lucy looked up the beast and said, "Even though this vessel's soul fought me, she is still my precious blood grandchild. Send some of your pack after him and treat him if possible."

Lilith knew that the space tears the Sphinx opened were actually just a portal to a place across the galaxy for exiles.

The Sphinx called out to two beasts. "Green Tooth and Dark Razor come here."

The two lion beast quickly came before their mother and awaited orders. To her surprise, a third followed, Void Slayer. He fell in behind the other two.

"Mother, I wish to go as well."

The Sphinx knew the lion wished to follow the man that bested him. "You three shall find the human and nurse him back to health."

"Oh, one other thing," Lilith interjected. "Do not allow him to return to earth. I do not wish to see that man again." She knew her control of Lucy might waiver if she ever saw Leo again.

"You heard Master. Take care of the boy. Teach him all of our techniques, but you four must stay away. So this will be goodbye, my children."

The three lions felt proud to be chosen and sad to leave their pack. A space tear opened behind them. "Goodbye, Mother," said in unison. The three Sphinx beast lept through the portal.

The massive Sphinx closed it behind them and then looked at her long lost Master. "What is our next move? I don't know much of what is going on outside world."

"Not much. Just that earth's mana has returned because of little kid, who called himself the god of lightning. Now many races wish to fight for our planet." The Sphinx nodded she had heard about Zeus once or twice from the old Egyptian cultivators.

"Blood Knight and I shall cultivate her for a while until we both reach the Construct Evolution phase, and then we shall return. These foreign races shall submit to me, or they shall perish."

"Master, is your goal still the same?" asked the large lioness.

"Yes. I will ascend and kill Adam with my own power." Lilith responded with a determination that one would stake their life on.
