After they parked the car, Liu Yang and Wan Li entered the bookstore. The bell situated on top of the door made a 'ding!' as they entered. Maybe because it's nearly closing time, no one is inside the bookstore except the man on the front desk who is lazily swirling on the chair.
The man immediately rose on his seat after noticing them. He greeted them politely.
"Hi! How may I help you?" Liu Yang heard him say. She stopped at the front desk about a meter or two with Wan Li following behind.
Liu Yang frowned. She looked back at Wan Li and whispered, "There's a new guy. He looked so hot." She laughed at what she said.
"I know right. He looks like an actor or something." Wan Li replied. They both giggled.
"But I wonder where Lingling could be? I'm fond of her, though."
Liu Yang didn't wait for Wan Li's reply and looked at the man. She composed herself, hiding her interest towards the man. "Are you new here? Where's the girl who used to be here, Lingling?"
"The other girl already resigned a couple of days ago." The man answered. But before Liu Yang could talk, the man continued, "Anyway, let's not talk about her. Let's talk about you. What's your name? How about your number? Oh, and is he your boyfriend?"
Liu Yang is utterly shock, completely speechless. The man looked handsome as he gave her his killer smile, she's dumbstruck by his gesture. She heard Wan Li gasped, glanced at him, and clearly saw that he was amused. Liu Yang's frown deepened. "Excuse me? Who do you take me for?"
Then she heard Wan Li laugh gently and said, "Baby, I'm not his boyfriend. But I'd be glad if you can be mine."
Liu Yang laughed at him. Wan Li is really something. She wanted to open her mouth to say something but she heard the man said, "You're here for me, aren't you? Come on, I know it already. Someone leaked an information of me being here, am I right? You don't have to pretend. It's okay, I'll go out with you. You don't have to ask. I'll willingly oblige."
Liu Yang lost her cool, she's clearly taken aback by his statement. She did not expect this plot twist. This guy is a psycho, she thought. She heard Wan Li bursts out of laughter while clapping his hands, clearly enjoying the show. He reached out ever her shoulder and whispered, "I think…..you better say 'yes' to his offer," he said in between his laughter.
Liu Yang is now red of anger and flicked her shoulder from Wan Li's grasp. Her brow involuntarily raise. "How did you even get that position to brazenly say that? Are you even qualified?" she put up a blank face and tried to maintain her cool.
"Babe, don't you know that I'm over qualified for this position?" he proudly said and continued, "Wait, you don't who I am? You don't recognize this handsome face?"
"Why do we have to know someone like you? Are you a God?"
Liu Yang totally lost it. She can't stay here any longer. It is totally nonsense to talk to a jerk like this guy. Then she heard Wan Li gasped in surprise. "O-M-G!! Are you who I think you are?! You're…"
Liu Yang did not let Wan Li continue what he's going to say. She's totally pissed and has lost interest about the books. She pulled Wan Li by the arm and said, "Wan Li, we better get going. We're wasting time here. Let's just go home."
As they were on the road inside the car, she could not help but grunt in frustration. They are stuck in the traffic jam. Wan Li looked at her. "What? Something wrong?" He saw his friend massaged her temples, her eyes on the car ahead of them. He seems to understand her. "It's already 5. It's normal for the traffic to be this way." Answering his question.
Liu Yang sighed, still massaging her throbbing head. "It's not that."
"Ah! I know." Wan Li laughed amusingly. "You gotta admit that man earlier is handsome."
The car lurched forward and was stopped by a red light.
"Correction was. Not until he open his wide mouth. How I wish he's mute. Maybe I'd agree to date him."
