Liu Yang stopped her thoughts there. She doesn't wanted to go deep into that memory ever again. Her heart is now searing from the pain. She felt miserable. She doesn't want to go back to the time where her innocence was stolen.
Her urge to smoke just worsen. Maybe she should have an emergency pack at home, just in case.
Her face is now drenched in tears. She then saw the light starting to emerge from the horizon. She really did not know that she did spend a long time thinking about what happened that day. Her legs start to ache.
She shake her head to erase that memory. It's Monday and she got to go work. She doesn't wanted to affect her work because of stress.
Liu Yang then wipe her face full of tears with her hand and exited the balcony. She glanced at her phone to see the time just to realize she'd been standing outside the balcony for almost three hours! No wonder her legs hurt that much.
It's already 5:30 in the morning and she has work to do. She doesn't wanted to be yelled by her boss…again.
"Shit! Not again!" Panic stricken, she run towards her bathroom and bathe.
As soon as she got out, it's already 6:30 am and her phone starts to ring.
Yes, she really does takes time when she's taking a shower.
While grabbing the comb, she glanced at it and saw that it was Xu Wan Li, her gay bestfriend for 12 years. "Girl, where the hell are you? We have a meeting at 7 with the head editor!"
"I'm almost there." She looked herself in the mirror, put lipstick on, and blushed her cheeks with her left hand while her right is holding her phone to her ear. I'm really good at multi-tasking, she laughed at herself at that thought.
"Baby girl, if I know you're still at your house, getting yourself prepped up. I know you well. " Xu Wan Li mockingly said.
"Ha-ha-ha! Are you a fortune teller? How do you know that?"
Without answering her question, he said, "You better hurry up right now. Oh, and I already arranged your files for the meeting so head right to conference hall when you get here."
"Awwwe! You're so thoughtful. I love you so much, girl!" she lovingly said through the phone.
"Ewww, girl. That's gross! Stop it. You're not even beautiful," he jokingly said and hung up. She laughed at his stance.
After checking herself in the mirror and saw that her look is fine, she got out of her apartment and hailed a taxi.
Liu Yang arrived at YinYang Publishing at exactly 7 am. She entered the elevator and pressed the floor number to where their meeting is held.
As she's nearing the door to the meeting room, her heart beats so loud that it is the only thing she can hear. She doesn't wanted to be scolded again by her boss.
She tried listening for sounds inside. It's eerily quiet and she does not like it. Her heart's already in her throat at the moment. "Screw it let's just do it!" she muttered to herself.
Liu Yang hesitated for a moment and silently pushed the door open. She peaked through and saw that her boss, Min Chu, their Editor-in-Chief, looking at everyone like she's going to eat them alive. Liu Yang stopped breathing. She saw that her boss clearly got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.
