Yan, Rae and Rosella were currently being led by the scout as they head towards the secret base of the Red-Bandana Brotherhood.

In order for them to reach their destination, the four of them needed to travel across shallow creeks and narrow land passages. Because the terrain, Snow was left behind to protect their carriage.

Along the way, the scout was sweating profusely and kept glancing at Yan and his wives.

'Holy Shit! Why haven't any of the traps activated?! We've already past more than ten traps and a single one had yet to be activated! Are they that lucky? I just hope the last trap would be successful.'

Each and every member of the brotherhood had been taught on what to do in a situation if one were to be captured and made to tell the location of their secret base.

Due to this, the scout led Yan and his wives, to an another route to their base that was filled with traps laid down by the Chief. Each of these traps had the power to kill a normal person if one were to accidentally step on it.

Yan, while walking, smirked as he was looking at the back figure of the scout. He knew what the scout was exactly thinking.

'Hee. You think you can fool me? What a noob! From the very start, I knew exactly what you're up to!'

Yan had secretly warned Rae and Rosella to exactly follow each step and foot positioning he made as they were travelling as they may be traps laid along the way.

'Well, without Catriona, I would have been fooled already! Hehe.'

[Serpent Trap Level 2 detected, three feet to the right.]

[Explosive Trap Level 2 detected, two feet to the left.]

[Spike Trap Level 2 detected, one feet to the right.]

[...]

[Master, there are exactly twenty individuals waiting for us, up ahead. They may be the ambush party for any infiltrators that was led in this route. But don't worry, they're average level is only at 25.]

'Oh. It means that we're nearing their base, right? Thanks, Catriona!'

[Right! You're welcome as always, Master. Hehe.]

After almost nearly an hour of travelling, the scout knew that they are nearing at last trap. He was smiling jubilantly inside. He sped up his pace but was still careful not to alert Yan and his wives.

'Yes! This is it. So long, idiots! Haha!'

But contrary to his expectations, Yan and his party suddenly stopped at their tracks. When the scout noticed them, he felt nervous.

"Um. Sir and Madams, is...is there something wrong? Our base is just up ahead."

"It's nothing. It is just that we thought that your usefulness ends here."

"What?!"

"You even dared to trick us."

Yan's body instantly vanished. All of the sudden, a strong and painful force hit on the scouts stomach. Yan kicked the scout's stomach so hard that Rae and Rosella heard the breaking of bones. He didn't had the chance to shout for pain!

Yan's kick was strong enough for the body of the scout to flew towards the location of the twenty unsuspecting members of the brotherhood.

"Hmmp! Scums are always scums!"

"Right. That's why you should never completely trust men, specially bandits. Be prepared, ladies. We've got companies up ahead."

"I'm always prepared!"

"Mm."

The three of them entered battle mode and proceeded to move forward.

Bang!

The scout dead body slammed the ground. The impact turned his body into meat pulp as blood gushed out in every parts of his body.

"Who?!"

The guards jolted in alert. All of them unsheathe their weapons and nock their bows. One of the guards who was near the body instantly recognised the scout.

"It's...it's the scout!"

"What?! What happened?"

Suddenly, they heard an eerie sound approaching. It was the sound of death!

HWUAH. HWUAH. HWUAH. HWUAH.

SWISH. SWISH. SWISH. SWISH.

"Argh!"

"No!"

One of the guards saw what was happening, immediately sounded the alarm.

Ding! Ding! Ding!

"Enemies! Enemies! Our base is under attack!"

All of the members of the brotherhood inside the small cave heard the alarm. They stopped what they were doing and took arms. One by one, each members of the brotherhood exit the cave with their swords, knives and bows in hand.

"Everyone, people had entered our base. How about we let them taste our power? Hahaha!"

"Who would dare to attack our stronghold? Haha! Let's go!"

"Kill them!"

"Kill!"

The Chief, who was still on his office, also heard the alarm. He frowned but didn't do anything. Adventurers with high levels would never venture in these parts of the kingdom. He reckoned that it would be a low-level Adventurers Party who are trying to get the bounty of his head.

With the number of subordinates and countless of traps laid all-around their base, he thought they would be enough. After a few moments later, all of the noises quieted down.

"Oh. They finished already? That was fast. It must be a Class F Adventurers then."

He laid back his chair and continue to read his book. As he was reading, Chief nose wrinkled. His pet also woke up from sleep. Both of them were intently looking at the door, curious of what happened outside.

"Blood? Do you smell it too? Mm. I think we should check outside."

Chief stood up and put his book at his desk. As he was about to reach for the door knob, his pet jumped in fright. It ran its fastest speed and tried to protect his master from an incoming danger with his body.

"Rawr!"

"Maelstrom!"

Bang!

The door burst into smithereens by the attack. Chief and his pet were blasted, slamming into the desk.

Because of the forceful intrusion, the traps inside the office activated. But before it happen, purple lightning blasted each traps, rendering them useless.

Katcha!

Katcha!

The Chief and his pet were bleeding in the floor. The Two-Horned Black Leopard had sustained greater damage in its body by defending his master. The attack created a large wound in its body as its organs and guts burst out its stomach. It died seconds later.

The Chief on the side retained little consciousness. When he opened his eyes, he saw a tall silhouette entering thru the door. He tried to speak as he kept coughing blood. Even with his pet successfully defending him, he was hit by the damage. His right hand was also gone.

"You...*cough*...why are strong people... .*cough*...like you...came here?"

"Old man, you've done so many evil in this world. We all know you deserve death."

"So what? *cough* They're are people even more evil and crueler than me!"

"You're right. There are indeed people more vile than you but you don't to worry about them. Their time would also come."

"Hee. Who would have thought I would die in this forest. Before I die, let me have one more smoke. Will you let me had that?"

"Okay."

"Thank you, kid."

Chief, using his remaining arm, tried to reach something underneath the rubble of his desk. All of the sudden, light emitted in Chief body. He then laughed mockingly at Yan.

"Kid, you're soft! You should've showed no mercy towards your enemies. See you next time, fucker! Hahaha!"

Chief's body instantly vanished. He used his last resort, a teleportation twin scroll. Though it was the cheapest ones, it costed the Chief more than 8,000 gold coins to purchase.

The twin scroll are bought in pair, 'entrance' and 'exit'. If one were to activate the 'entrance' scroll, he or she would be directly teleported to the location of the 'exit' within 200 meters.

"Don't worry, old man. There will be no next time."

Yan only smiled towards the vanishing figure. He left the office and walked towards in the inner sections of the cave.

200 meters away from the cave, a figure was emerged. It was the Chief.

"Ha! Fool! Good thing I decided to buy this scroll. Though it costed me almost all of my money, my life is still the most valuable of all. I need to get away from here as far as possible. Shit. That kid was strong!"

Chief clutched his broken arm. But before he could escape, he noticed two figures not far away from him.

"Who...?! Argh!!!"
