Haven: Takashi, drive faster, they're catching up!

Takashi: I can't! There are obstacles in our way, unless you want me to crash into each and every one of them, might I remind you, we'll to flip over!

Rei: Are they still chasing us?!

Haven: Yes, Dammit! Rei pass me the bullets. Ill try to pick them off as best as I can!

.

.

When we left the gas station, several zombies(runners) gave chase. I finally understood why they were called runners instead of leapers like what the first ones we saw were like.

We were travelling at a speed of 50 Km/h but the zombies were still easily keeping pace with us. They leapt over the obstacles in their path like monkeys leaping from branches. Their agility was truly astounding when compared to regular humans.

Haven could probably take on one or two at most with his sword but any more than that would just be suicidal. Even considering his stat breakthroughs.

With no other choice but to shoot them down lest they encounter a roadblock of some sort and get swarmed, Haven reloaded the pistol that he carried.

After steadying himself, he took aim as best as he could.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The gun kept firing non- stop, killing them off in droves.

Rei: Holy shit! Are some sort of secret forces dropout or something? Why is your aim so good?

Haven: ...I have no clue.

Takashi: Good job Haven, we're in the clear now.

.

.

With his mental breakthrough, Haven suspected that his reaction speed, judgement and even problem solving skills had improved to being the peak of what was humanly possible.

This, in turn allowed his aim to reach a near one hundred percent accuracy in each of his shots. Especially considering that they were on top of a moving vehicle? Yeah, consider me impressed as well.

He clenched the muscles in his shoulder and flinched slightly at the pain. That was another thing which surprised him. Earlier, the pain was completely dominating. It encompassed his senses and even caused his thinking to malfunction.

If it wasn't for me, he would've already been dead 100 times over.

He took of his jacket and pulled off his shirt to inspect the wound. The bleeding had stopped earlier but the wound still looked somewhat fresh.

.

.

[You'll be fine come morning.]

Haven: Are you sure? It still hurts a little.

[Are you forgetting we share the same senses? I can feel all your emotions and you, mine]

Haven: Wait... you acted like the pain didn't even bother you. Heck you even pulled me out of my funk.

[I've been through void energies. They hurt more than you'd believe. A mere gunshot wound is nothing to the current me.]

Haven: I... see.

[In any case, we need to find the others. Its getting very dangerous now. More runners are making themselves more active and we haven't even seen how powerful a true evolved zombie looks like yet.]

Haven: They're worth 50 points. This... isn't it going to be a problem?

[If anything is for certain, im very sure that they have at least five times the combat power of a runner. Don't even consider taking them as our opponents. At least not now.]

Haven: Yeah...

[Not only that. Runners weren't blind like the regular zombies. They had an advantage of having vision as well, as could be seen from earlier when they were leaping off obstacles to chase us.]

Haven; Shit, if that's how strong a runner is then what about an Evolved?

[I suspect, they have intelligence.]

Haven: Intelligence? What do you mean?

[The zombies we encountered earlier, runners included, all seem to fall under a certain type of primal instinct. They can't plan attacks nor can they do anything to dodge them. Evolved ones are most likely different, in addition to have superior combat stats than a human, they will most definitely have the ability to think. Perhaps on the level of humans themselves.]

Haven: ...

[This is just conjecture, though. I'm not absolutely certain.]

Haven: Well, I'd rather listen to your advice rather than ignore it.

.

.

Haven ripped a part of his jacket to bandage up the wound. Even though it wasn't bleeding anymore, strenuous activity could cause a relapse and start it once more.

As they drove past the dead city, they made idle conversation about any topic that seemed to come to mind. Mostly zombies but in any case, it took the edge of their nerves for a little while.

.

.

Rei: What're you thinking of Takashi?

Takashi: In all honesty, im just worried. Those kind of guys that we saw at the station, there are definitely going to be a lot more of those types of people.

Rei: Those types... huh?

Haven: He's right. The world has gone to hell. The are definitely bound to be crazy people out there who think that doing whatever they like, will turn the shitty situation around.

Takashi: They'll be coming out of the woodwork in droves. Rapists, thieves, murderers. The scum of the earth. Japan had become a dog eat dog world by now.

Rei: They can't all be bad...

Haven: Curb those idiotic thoughts of yours Rei. This isn't the world you thought you knew.

Rei: How do you know for sure?

Haven: I don't, but I've witnessed the worst the world has to offer. It really isn't pretty.

Takashi: You have, huh? Why, anyone you know die like that?

Haven: No, nothing of that sort. A few months ago, I was bully target. They used me to vent all their frustrations. I appealed help from the teachers at my school but they couldn't do a thing without proof. I grew sick of being helpless so I did something about it. I trained and trained and beat up all of those who f*cked up my life. So, yeah... I can definitely say that I've seen a bit of the depravity of humans.

Rei: ...

Takashi: Sigh. And now that the world has no more order...

Rei: They wont be afraid to take what they want.

Haven: Which is why we have to grow used to this. Situations like that are only going to happen again and again. We have to be prepared to kill. To survive.

Takashi: ...

Rei: ...

.

.

Those words seemed to instill a certain sense of despair within these two characters but it was necessary. Takashi, in the original timeline was dependable. He wouldn't let anybody die if he could help it. He grew to become a capable leader, one that held the hopes of his people in the best benefit.

Im not truly sure what our existence has brought down upon the group to change their mentality but I had a feeling that Takashi's is still flowing in the right direction.

The others will change alongside him. Hopefully.

Before long, the darkness of the night faded away and we drove along a bridge to reach our destination of heading towards the east police station.

Unfortunately for us, we weren't the only people trying to head out of Tokyo city. Cars and people lined the road trying to get out of the city.

A vast conglomeration of people making noises like this was bound to attract the attention of the zombies in droves. It wasn't a good idea for us to stay and head that way. These people were bound to get swarmed sooner or later.

Takashi agreed with Haven's sentiments and started looking for a different bridge to go over to. On the way, we noticed several people screaming and shouting, whilst burning down various buildings in their surroundings.

Thankfully we were still a ways away from them and they hadn't noticed us but they were bound to if we dallied around for too long.

F*cking Rioters.

.

.

Haven: Drive them over, we have no time to delay.

Takashi: Haven, I don't think, its a good idea. They have guns, they could deal quite a bit of damage to us if we charge through recklessly.

Rei: We should go on foot, we might be able to make it past them.

Haven: True, but we won't make the deadline with the rest of them if we run. We have no choice.

Takashi: As wonderful as that sounds, I doubt we'll be able to make it past them. We can't use another way as well because the zombies are crowding the streets. Any other ideas?

.

.

Haven was stumped for a plan. He couldn't figure out a way for them to get through the rioters without as least sustaining heavy damage to their vehicle and the chance of finding another good vehicle out there with no damage to it was rather low.

Seeing no other choice, he consulted me for advice.

.

.

Haven: Erin, what do you think we should do?

[Your idea of running them down is indeed the best plan for the situation however we need to change it up slightly. You need to shoot them down while you drive through with full speed.]

Haven: Shoot them down?

[Yes, aim as best as you can at first, to create a diversion, using that, you guys can pass through while they are in a panic.]

Haven: What do you suggest?

[The car that's flipped over, where one of them is standing. Shoot the tank. It'll cause an explosion. While they're in disarray, Takashi has to put full thrust into the pedal to ram over those in the way. If everything goes well, we will be able to make it out without a single scratch on our ride.]

Haven: Wow... you... how did you even come up with that plan, let alone see a gas tank on the flipped car?

[Haven, I'm a lot more amazing than you'd realize. I have the experience and memories of two almost legendary incarnations. I might be of the mental age of 23 but it feels like I've been alive for a millennia.]

Haven: Damn...

[Enough about me. Propose the plan.]

.

.

Haven suggested the plan towards his two companions. They were slightly apprehensive but agreed to follow it, as it was their best one yet.

Haven stood up on the back of the pick up. His balance, due to the physical realm breakthrough, had reached an unprecedented level for a regular human. He had little trouble keeping steady when Takashi slammed his foot into the gas.

Soon he was in range of the tank.

.

.

Rioter 1: Hey, look! A truck. Get it!

Rioter 2: Shoot those f*ckers and take the truck.

.

.

The ten or so rioters were riled up the moment they witnessed the truck. Most likely they had to travel on foot for a long way so they wanted a vehicle to use.

As some of them readied their weapons to blow holes into it, Haven fired a single bullet.

It sped out through the barrel of the gun and sped through the air, cutting through the wind and smashing itself against the tank of the overturned car.

The friction of the bullet caused sparks to ignite the left over fuel inside. Fire spread throughout the entire vehicle. Unable to take the rapid combustion, the car exploded into a blaze of fiery death, causing shrapnel and the like to cut into the unlucky rioters.

The explosion instantly killed off four of the closest rioters near it while the rest were blown off their feet from the force of it.

While they were disoriented, the pickup sped through the lingering heat and flames, driving over 2 Rioters and killing them in the process.

Soon we escaped the imminent danger site with a not a single scratch on our person. The environment grew quiet once more with only one or two zombies milling around the streets.

.

.

Takashi: Holy shit! That actually worked!

Haven: Of course it did, I come up with the plan after all.

.

.

Erm... No, Haven, I did.

.

.

Rei: Yeah, no kidding. You know, the idea that you're a special forces dropout sounds a lot more appealing now than it did before.

Takashi: Hell, I would believe it.

Haven: Sure, believe in whatever you want.

.

.

The bastard is stealing all my credit.

Well, that was fine. My existence shouldn't even be possible given the circumstances but it worked out in the end so all was fine.

It makes me wonder though, If someone from my original life created Terror Infinity... what exactly.... no never mind, I shouldn't be bothered to care about that. What matters now is becoming stronger.

Nothing else.

The ride was coming to an end, however as the group heard the familiar sound of a gas operated nail gun.

.

.

Takashi: Is that...?

Rei: A gun? It sounds a little off...

Takashi: No, not a gun. That's Kohta's modified weapon.

Rei: Kohta? Are you sure?

Takashi: Positive. Hold on tight back there, Haven. Im going to try something. This time, lets follow my plan.

Haven: Erm... what....?

Takashi: Shush! Let me concentrate.

Haven: (muttering) Sheesh fine.

.

.

Takashi spun the truck around to look for... something. He apparently found it however as he stepped on the gas.

We were heading straight towards... a ramp?

.

.

[Brace yourself.]

Haven: wha-? Oh shit.

.

.

The truck, flew off the ramp like a bloody monster truck. For a moment, it felt as if we were flying then the moment ended and gravity took hold once again, pulling us straight onto the ground where the astounded faces of Saeko, Kohta, Saya, Hisashi and even the busty nurse, Shizuka greeted us.

Haven quickly glanced through the crowd and spotted Jax as well as Izumi fighting off zombies. To the side standing comfortably near the railing, a nonchalant gaze, met Haven's eyes.

It was Yukio!

.

.

Saeko/ Kohta/ Saya : Holy shit.

Hisashi: What the f*ck?!

.

.

The vehicle landed on three zombies, crushing them down with its weight, most likely killing them in the process. Using the momentum of the fall, Haven jumped off and sliced his sword through the air, cutting into the skull of a zombie.

Before it could crumple into a heap, Haven picked it up and threw to two zombies behind him, dislodging his sword in the process.

Takashi and Rei jumped out as well, sending zombies flying with their skills, crushing their heads into paste or knocking them down long enough for one of the others to bash their skulls in.

Soon, there were none left alive.

Haven raised his sword and waved it, getting rid of the excess blood on it.

.

.

Saeko: Glad to see you guys are still in one piece

Hisashi: Rei! Man, am I glad to see you! Takashi, thanks for bringing her back.

Takashi: ...Yeah... no problem, I guess.

Haven: (waving)Yo.

Jax: You son of a b*tch!

Izumi: (smiling, reluctantly) Hello Haven.

Haven: Everything seems fine on your end eh?

Jax: Fine? You f*ck, having knowledge of the plot but not telling us. What happened to, "wont abandon us if we're truly about to die," huh?

Haven: Well, did you die?

Jax: Oh, shut up.

Haven: Aw come on, someone had to go with the main characters to make sure they wouldn't die, ya know.

Izumi: (Sighing) Look, Haven the thing is, we would really appreciate it if you could at least tell us what the next part of the plot will be. We are in an entirely new world. Things happen, I get it. But you can't expect to do everything on your own, now, do you?

Haven: Fine. Alright. Im sorry. Ill explain some stuff to you. Alright?

.

.

A hand patted Haven's shoulder. Turning, he saw Yukio smiling at him, a slightly amused look crossing his face.

.

.

Haven: What? You're going to lecture me too?

Yukio: Lecture? Hell no.

Haven: Then? Wait, what are you even doing here in the first place? I thought you went off to kill zombies.

Yukio: I did but you can't expect me to not keep an eye on the main characters now, do you? I was watching the entire time, to make sure that they wouldn't die. That would be a whole lot of points off for me.

Haven: You kept them safe?

Jax: (scowling)Yeah... he kept us safe alright. We encountered a horde of runners shortly after you guys left. There were so many that I honestly thought we were going to die. Then Yukio showed up out of thin air. He ripped them to shreds with his guns and sword. He didn't let a single one of them off.

Izumi: ...Yeah that was certainly something.

.

.

Curiously enough, it seemed like Yukio had some very strong enhancement. Ripping hordes of runners to shreds? Nope, we wouldn't even come close to being able to do so. Taking on one was hard enough without Takashi and Rei supporting Haven.

I shudder to think what would have happened if we had to come across those many. These guys sure were lucky. If Yukio hadn't been there, they would have definitely died for sure.

.

.

Yukio: So, I heard you left these guys to fend for themselves while in the school. You even chose to save someone who was originally meant to die. Why's that?

Haven: My reasons are my own. Im sorry.

Yukio: Sigh. Well whatever, your choices are you own. Just remember, I won't be bothered to save you unless you pass this mission. Only then can I call you a comrade.

Haven: I know. In any case, even if you were doing it to save the characters, you indirectly saved Jax and Izumi's lives. You're really not a bad person, are you?

Yukio: Bad person? You have me mistaken for someone else. They were just in the right place at the right time.

Haven: ...Sure

Yukio: I-In any case, what's next on the plot line?

.

.

Before Haven could explain, however, Shizuka gave off a suggestion that seem to raise everyone's moods.

.

.

Shizuka: I have a friend's house that we could use. Its pretty big and I'm sure It'll fit all of us fine. Its even got a patio in case we need see anything down below.

Saeko: Hmm, that sounds like a good place to lay low for a while. We can get our strengths up while waiting as well.

Saya: Wow. You have a pretty rich friend huh?

Shizuka: Well, she was in the military so she should have been paid pretty heftily for her services to the country.

Haven: The next part's starting. Ill explain more when we reach.

Jax: ...Sure.(muttering) Crazy bastard who's trying to get himself killed.

Haven: I heard that.
