Over the course of four days Braedon was able to slowly practice his knife techniques. He felt a connection with the strange little blade in his hand. This was more than likely due to his experience in he tunnel.

The more he thought of the tunnel, the more he wondered what it was. He did return to the manhole area where he escaped from, luckily his high cultivation allowed him to memorize the area pretty well.

When he got there, he opened up the cover and climbed down to find...nothing.

There was no tunnel, no monsters, and no sign of fighting. It was almost as if everything that had happened was just a part of his imagination. But it was real.

He knew this thanks to two things. First was Yi Ling, she and her grandfather were witnesses of his "ghost" that day and second was something that Braedon found to be the most shocking.

He was getting stronger.

This seemed like something obvious, of course he would get stronger the more he practiced, but this wasn't the case. He felt his power increase even while he slept. The rise was almost unnoticeable, but Braedon could tell whenever he closed his eyes and focused on the vines growing from the seeds in his body.

The process was slow but Braedon could tell that the vines were growing out and wrapping around his limbs. He couldn't tell the reason why this was happening but he didn't think it was a bad thing. The growing of the vines didn't increase his cultivation itself, but instead it increased the amount of power he wielded.

It was like having someone in a videogame with the skills of a level 100 at only level 50 in the game. It wasn't that exaggerated but it was very similar.

This was something he hid from everyone he knew. Even Glode didn't know about the vines. Braedon was positive that it had something to do with the tunnel. But now that it was gone, he could find nothing to prove it.

Braedon suddenly had a thought. He was practicing his cultivation at the moment, but he realized something strange about it. He didn't remember where he learned it from.

To be exact, Braedon could remember that he was looking for a new technique to cultivate with. He remembered how Glode's technique was only temporary and he was told to meditate to gain an idea on creating his own path of cultivation.

It wasn't as hard as it sounded since Glode gave him all of the memories of techniques he had collected over a long period of time. All Glode wanted was for Braedon to be inspired and make a new technique based on what they had. Shockingly enough Braedon showed Glode something that was completely different anything he had ever seen.

But Braedon didn't remember what inspiration he received. He didn't remember anything like that, all he remembered was a voice. The voice said something, but he didn't remember what it was.

Braedon removed those unless thoughts from his mind and kept on cultivating. He felt the vines grow thick and powerful. The vines felt oddly protective, as if they were guarding his body from some unknown enemy.

Braedon smiled to himself as he waited patiently for the expedition to come.

A group of people were down on one knee as they faced a young man. "It seems our men have failed their mission, young master." One of them said while holding up a monitor with a video recording on it.

In the recording two groups of people were fighting one another. In the recording an old man won the battle with his opponent just as a young girl was about to lose her own fight. Before the young girl was defeated, however; a weak looking man suddenly lit aflame and launched his opponent backwards, crashing into the girl's foe.

The scene carried on with the three people winning their fights and parting ways soon afterwards.

"So the assassins we sent have failed. Who is that young man?" The young master had never seen such a strange skill before in his life. Even though it was just a recording, he still felt some pressure.

"We are not sure, but he apparently has connections with the Yi clan as well as the Zan clan. His house is constantly being watched and it seems incredibly difficult to capture him."

The man who spoke gave the young master a report of all the information the group had gathered.

As he read over to report, he became more interested in this man. Seemingly at first he was just a normal person. But his true colors were revealed recently by the Zan clan's genius, Zan Fu.

"It seems his background isn't simple. He will be participating in the dungeon expedition coming up, it seems like a good chance to kidnap and question him while his guardians are busy with the dungeon boss." The young master placed down the folder full of papers and said to his men in a commanding tone.

"Do not kill him yet. If we play our cards right, we can bring down both the Yi clan AND the Zan clan at the same time. It seems luck is on our side. Prepare some of the warriors and fighters for the expedition, soon we shall make our move."

Deep in the dungeon that Braedon was going to be exploring soon, a man in a black cloak stood over a normal snake with a blood red orb in his hands.

He leaned down and placed a small, glasslike shard on the ground, "Eat up."

The serpent slithered over and devoured the shard. After a few minutes, the snakes appearance began to change. It's slithery body became more rigid and hard. It started to grow four small arms from its body and it kept growing bigger until it was the size of five men.

It's tail tip became sharp and it's arms grew claws as scales grew over its body. The monsters eyes became dark and hollow. It sent it's sights over to a simple goblin not to far away. The goblin froze in fear and in that second of hesitation a giant fireball came hurling toward it.

The goblin screamed out in pain as it was burned to ashes and the cloaked man slowly clapped his hands.

"A half-drake, huh? A little weaker than I expected but better than nothing." The man held out its arm and patted the half-drake over its head.

"Let's see what that boy can do." The cloaked man turned around and moved over to the deepest level of the dungeon.

In a room he had entered he picked up a random object off of the table. While the object looked plain, its body radiated with power.

"This artifact... it's been a long time." He smiled to himself and placed it back down.

The red orb suddenly spoke to the man, "Are you sure about this?"

The half-drake roared behind him. He turned to it and said in a calm, quiet voice, "Now that I think about it... no, I am not sure about this?"

"..."

"..."

"It's too late to turn back the drake now isn't it?"

The man awkwardly slid his mouth to the side, "Yep."

The orb said one word in response, "Dammit"
