Zan Fu fell backwards onto his bed in shock. Drodon had just finished telling him a few of the secrets that he had been attempting to hide. The realization of what was happening disturbed him. I

"So being a god candidate means I can reach a level of strength unheard of before!?"

"Yep."

"Don't say "yep" like it's common sense!" Zan Fu became increasingly irritated the more Drodon talked. "This information can cause panic within the entire world!"

"That's why I'd didn't want to tell you about this." Drodon told Zan Fu about the truth on what he was. He was an artifact of the past that allowed the user to summon in the power of an old deity.

Supposedly, if his master was to reach the tenth realm, he would have a chance to reach a level of strength that no other tenth realm expert can obtain

In normal terms, he becomes a deity among men. The level of power is unknown, but Drodon believed that he would be strong enough to have access to the source of "heaven's force". Even he didn't know what the source truly was.

Zan Fu couldn't believe what he was hearing. The source of "heaven's force"? What a laugh! There was no point in figuring out where his power came from, all that mattered was if he could increase his strength.

While Zan Fu's a little curious on this subject, he worried more about what would happen if anyone knew about Drodon's ability. If this news was leaked out, he would be hunted down like an animal.

Not even his family would be able to save him. Though Zan Fu wasn't worried about this much, since no one could see Drodon and he himself wasn't retarded.

He was more worried about Braedon rather than this news. "How does this affect my friend's situation?"

"Your friend is possessed by the first owner of the orb which was the original phoenix." Drodon explained, "I'm not sure why he had possessed your friend but I am sure he is also preparing the vessel as a god candidate."

Drodon rolled over to Zan Fu's phone and started playing with the apps on it, "You want to save your friend? The only way to do that is to defeat the monster living inside of him. And if he succeeds in turning his host into an all-powerful monster, then saving him will be impossible."

Drodon paused for a second before saying one last sentence, "At that point, our only option would be to kill him."

Zan Fu looked up and simply said, "In other words, we have no other options." A quiet laugh came from below Zan Fu, "Someday your kindness will be the death of you, master."

"Then I will die happy." He chuckled out and patted Drodon. He stood up with Drodon in his arms, "So how do I breakthrough?"

Drodon started glowing as a blue, translucent field formed around them. All of a sudden their surroundings changed as they appeared in an empty field of grass. Hills and trees surrounded them while the sun was covered by dark clouds.

A storm looked like it was brewing and lightning was forming in the sky. "What is happening?" Zan Fu said this while taking a step back after he felt the hair on his arms rise up from the electricity in the air.

"The answer to your question of breaking through is simple, Zan Fu. The moment I woke up, you were already set for the tribulation." Drodon said this while watching the the lightning in the sky become stronger, "Hmm that's odd."

"What's wrong?"

"Well Zan Fu, do you know how the Tribulation lightning works?"

"Yeah, you are struck by lightning with strength equivalent to the realm you are breaking into and the number is double that of your realm, so if you break into the second realm you get struck by four bolts of lightning. That is until realm sixth through ten, at that point the number of lightning bolts is tripled." Zan Fu said this while wondering why Drodon asked him this question.m

"Yes, now this might seem strange, but the power I feel coming from those clouds aren't from a third to fourth realm Tribulation." Drodon said this slowly as if he wasn't sure about his discovery.

"Then how strong is it?"

"It has power equal to that of a fifth to sixth realm tribulation..." Drodon awkwardly said this in a shy manner. Zan Fu paused for a second before responding, "So I need to deal with eight bolts with power equal to the sixth stage?!"

Drodon gave off a strange chuckle, "No of course not! You don't need to guard against eight bolts." Zan Fu gave out a sigh of relief. He wasn't sure if he could handle even five bolts, but if the number was less than five then he had some confidence. "Then how many is it, four? Five?"

"It's eighteen."

Zan Fu, "..."

His expression was unreadable as he reached out and he grabbed onto Drodon, "By the way, you teleported me here so quickly that we didn't have time to bring any defensive equipment to assist me here right? We also didn't bring any healing treasure and we didn't tell anyone we were going through this tribulation right?"

Drodon shyly whispered out his next words, "I may have been a bit impatient there."

"A BIT!?!? WE ARE GOING TO DIE!" Zan Fu started to madly shake Drodon all over the place to release his anger.

"Actually, My body is quite powerful, I will most likely survive this Tribulation without harm. You on the other hand-" Zan Fu proceeded to punch him into the ground. He looked to the sky to find the first bolt of lightning already forming.

"Drodon, if I die make sure you grab the computer in my room. Destroy it, delete everything you possibly can and then throw it into a river." Zan Fu clenched his fist nervously.

"Don't worry Zan Fu. I'll make sure no one gets their hands on that device." He was lying.

The lightning fell and headed straight for Zan Fu. He pulled his fist back and with a loud shout, Zan Fu punched the lightning. It broke like glass with tiny streams of electricity flying into the ground all around them. By the time the first was finished the second already formed and flung itself down.

Zan Fu spun around and back kicked the bolt aside, unfortunately the first two were just flimsy attacks that usually had little to no power. The third was a totally different type of attack. It formed in a split second and struck out with incredible speeds.

Unlike the other two, Zan Fu wasn't able to stop the bolt and it direct struck him in his chest giving off a humongous explosion.

~Boom~

Zan Fu flew back with his blood and flesh flying all around him. He crashed into the ground and grabbed at his chest.

It felt as if it was on fire, it also was on fire. He allowed his cultivation to flow around his body and heal his wounds while at the same time he put away the flame.

The fourth bolt was already half formed, so he only had a few seconds to prepare himself. Zan Fu stood back up quickly and grabbed the ring on his middle finger. It was a small gift he was given when he was young.

He pulled it off and it transformed into a medieval long sword. When he was younger, he used to love hearing stories of the western knights and the adventures of their kings.

His parents hired a special weaponsmith to create this ring which was made out a highly dense metal that expanded when "heaven's force" was pumped into it.

It was forged into a ring so that it would be convenient to carry around. A normal cultivator's sword was usually more agile and made of materials that could better handle "heaven's force". They could be used for flying and are a bit shorter in length.

The longsword was none of these, so in a battle between cultivators, it was worthless. But right now Zan Fu didn't need a sword for battle, he needed a sword for survival and this was his only option.

The fourth bolt shot down. Zan Fu held the sword's handle with both of his hands and swung it over his head as fast as he possibly could. The lightning was slashed in half by the surprisingly sharp edge of the blade but one of the halves still struck his shoulder.

It numbed him for a second, but he quickly just shook it off.

The next bolt came even quicker and Zan Fu didn't have enough time to pull the sword out of the ground. Instead, he positioned his feet carefully, squatted down while holding the hilt, and used all of his strength to jump up.

The blade popped out from the dirt and they flew into the air. The bolt, which was just about to strike where he was just standing, stopped and changed its direction to follow him up into the sky.

Zan Fu was free falling and, with sword in hand, he pulled his arms back behind his head. He swung down once more and sliced at the chain. The lightning was not only being cut in half, but it was cushioning his fall surprisingly well.

He landed onto the ground with a small ~thump~ and looked up into the sky.

"Five down down, thirteen to go."
