Shu Rong woke and sat up in her bed in the middle of the night out of habit. Usually at this time she would be making rounds around we thanplace she was staying at to check it an ambush was brewing. When she was young and inexperienced, a hidden ambush almost killed her. If it wasn't for the fact that her specialty was stealth, then her path would've ended right then and there.

That's right SHE woke up out of habit. Shu Rong looked at her own reflection in the mirror in the right next to her bed. Looking at her own facial features a feeling of amazement rose up inside of her heart. How in the world was she mistaken for a boy?

It was probably thanks to their first meeting that Zan Fu received the wrong impression about her. After all the way she acted back then was a bit, tomboyish. Besides it wasn't uncommon for a female-like cultivator to actually be male.

News like this has always been in cultivator gossip papers. But still, her being a male? She couldn't figure out his train of thought. It also didn't help that she never tried to correct him.

Zan Fu looked confident, bright, and gave off a dangerous feeling back in the dungeon. But now after being around him for a while, she saw an entirely different side to him. He was loyal, kind of shy, and extremely stupid. He could almost never read the mood correctly and he was terrible at taking hints.

But it wasn't like she didn't like this side of him. She found it endearing and always felt wonderful around him. He was living the life she never had. Being rich and part of a powerful family, yet still so greedy and humble.

Going to do things normal mortals do without the fear of someone attacking him all of a sudden. His life was truly enviable. She fell back into her soft pillow. It felt like it was made out of marshmallows and clouds. It was so comfortable.

As she was drifting back to sleep, a sudden noise shook her consciousness awake once more. Pushing the covers of the bed aside, she stood up to find out where the source of the noise was coming from.

Sneaking out of the door quietly, she moved to a room with the door slightly opened. Moving in even closer, she peeled through the crack to see what was inside.

And there standing in a puddle of his own sweat was Zan Fu. He held a large, unsightly sword in his hand. It was as large as a normal door and as thick as a half of a brick. It looked like it weighed eighty to ninety kilograms. It was basically just a large metal slab rather than a sword. In fact Shu Rong wouldn't have known what it was if it wasn't for its two-handed hilt.

He didn't notice her presence as she watched him lift the metal slab up and gracefully waved it around. It appeared as if he was practicing while using the odd weapon.

He had no specific style and Shu Rong played through a few scenarios and noticed that the movements he made were suitable for quick and agile weapons, but using such a large object for that type of practice seemed strange.

But the more she watched the more amazed she became. Zan Fu moved with blindingly quick speeds. The weapon slashed and spun in the air with such swiftness and precision that she was was sure it was actually hollow on the inside and weighed nothing.

This thought was quickly pushed aside when he waved the sword over his head and smashed it into the ground forming a huge crater. The weapon wasn't even scratched. The whistling of the air for every strike that Zan Fu made dang through Shu Rong's ears.

Zan Fu held the sword up and with a sharp glint in his eye, he released a loud grunt and rushed forward. He stabbed at the air in front of him before jumping backwards three meters and thrusting with all of his might. Shu Rong focused on the movements of the sword and noticed that somehow the tip was being separated into four different blades.

The four blades attacked different areas. From the top, bottom, middle, and even one of the sides. The more she watched the more she noticed that it looked like the claw of a dragon stabbing out.

Her curiosity grew as the attacked slowly moved forward. No matter how slow it moves and no matter what came into her mind, she couldn't think of a single thing that would save her from such a attack.

Just as it reached the peak of the strike, the other three blades disappeared and the sword dropped with a large ~Bam~. Zan Fu was taking in gulps of air as he collapsed onto the ground. His body trembled and a trail of blood leaked out of one of his eyes and the corner of his mouth.

Shu Rong was shocked by this and charged in to check up on him, "Zan Fu!" He turned his head over to face her with a surprised look. She ran up and placed his head into her arms, "What the hell was that?"

Zan Fu looked up with a strange look in his eyes. While Shu Rong didn't know what the look meant, she saw something hidden deep inside of it, it was fear.

~~~~~~~~~~
Zan Fu looked at the heavy object in front of him. It was something that he was using to increase his physical strength, and to practice with using his bonded weapon as well.
He tried holding his bonded weapon once, only to discovered that it was extremely heavy and strange to use. He just couldn't use it properly without practice but the more that it stayed summon, the more power it absorbed from his body.
His own weapon was draining him of his power...how inconvenient. Of course the amount of strength he could exert while using it was worth it. He decided that it was better to not drain himself of strength everytime and his practice with something of similar weight and size.
Luckily he had a private collection of weapons hidden away. From the unusable to the most "unqiue" everything in his collection could easily be considered an obomination. The current weapon that he was using was something based off of a video game. It was five swords that combined into a singular large edge less weapon.
Useless in battle but he thought that it looked bad*ss. Zan Fu continuously practice without stop and eventually he ran out of stamina. He sat on the ground completely devoid of energy. His muscles ached while his brain throbbed in pain. He felt as if his lungs weren't even receiving enough air but something strange was happening to him.
As he just sat there, an incredible set of techniques appeared inside of his head. He stood up once more and picked up the sword, he started to move the way it appeared in his mind and eventually something strange happened.
Zan Fu felt the tip of his weapon start to split, the faster he moved the more it separated. It wasn't the type of split that would break the blade, no it was more like real after images. It sounded strange but that was just what it felt like.
He was reaching the end of his practice when his body couldn't take it anymore. He was so worn out tha before he could finished, he collapsed. Blood flowed out of his body and his heart aches as if it was about to burst.
Suddenly the door to the room he was in slammed opened an someone called out his name. It was Shu Rong who ran up to him asking what was wrong. He lifted Zan Fu up by the head and Zan Fu's heart filled with fear and dread.
It wasn't because something was wrong with him, nor was it because failed in his practice.
The reason he was filled with this emotion was because of the single thought that popped into his head, "Considering everything, it really wouldn't be that bad to marry Shu Rong."
