Braedon and Kai Jun had been traveling without food or rest for the last three days. It wasn't really effecting them physically, especially for Braedon since there was no "physical" body for him, but it was taking a toll on them mentally.

After night had fallen, Braedon finally begged Kai Jun for a break, and he was happy to oblige. Kai Jun sat down and began to make a fire while Braedon would go search for something to eat.

It took him a while before he found a Berserko Rabbit. They were a type of cute and fluffy looking creature until they became mad. If this were to happen, they would grow several times their size and their skin would become a fleshy red color.

They grew out large fangs while their legs became muscle bound monstrosity. In this form they provided a challenge for even a few third realm Warrior. Luckily, Braedon wasn't a Warrior. He walked in silently and calmly, making sure that every one of his steps were silent.

Without the rabbit even noticing, Braedon held up his makeshift spear and thrusted it down into the creature's head instantly killing it. Braedon picked up the corpse, which was dripping with blue blood, and brought it back to the camp. He felt some of its power enter him, but it was minuscule that it didn't matter.

He wasn't actually much stronger than someone in the third realm with his current strength. What made killing the rabbit so easy was his skills and techniques rather than his actual power. If Glode was still around, he would be able to see Braedon's status which would appear like:

Braedon

Level: 1 Phoenix Embryo(+5 Phoenix King)

Stage: 1st minor level

Race: @#$&*$#@$ Human?

Lifespan: @#$&# years

Weapon: Branch Spear(trash)

Skill: Spirit Sight, Above-Average Knife Technique, King Of €#@&£¥§€£, Common Weapon Techniques

Potential: Average

Even with his increased power, Braedon never became arrogant or complacent. In fact he worked even harder as he realized that his current strength was probably still weaker than Zan Fu.

Last time he saw Zan Fu he was only in the third realm, but Braedon knew that he was near a breakthrough. Even if Braedon was technically two realms above Zan Fu after a breakthrough, he probably knew more skills and techniques than Braedon did.

Plus he was technically not a true sixth realm expert until he regained his body, but how is he going to do that with who the current holder of his body was?

While he wasn't sure who it was exactly, Braedon knew that the person had strength probably close to Kai Jun's. If so then he might as well just give up and vaunt some random person's house or something.

Once he brought over the rabbit, Kai Jun skinned, washed, and began to roast it. Once he was finished he gave the limbs to Braedon while keeping the body to himself.

The limbs were fun to eat and tasty delectable, they also didn't have much bones or anything so it was easy to eat. Although the body had more meat, Braedon was too lazy to rip it off of its ribs and spine to eat.

He bit into the juicy flesh of the roasted rabbit and was, as always, impressed by how great it tasted even without seasonings. They finished eat quickly and Braedon decided that they needed to talk now that they had some free time.

"So, Kai Jun... tell me a bit more about yourself." Zan Fu waited patiently as he swallowed the bit of food in his mouth, "Well what is there to say, there isn't anything really interesting about me."

"You said something about the heavens once before, why not talk about that?" Zan Fu was leading the conversation until this point. Despite his fear of what was told, curiosity made Zan Fu overcome that fear.

A smile appeared on Kai Jun's face as he recollected his past. "I guess I should start with telling you about the heavens. To start off, I noticed that you have always talked about heaven as if they were one thing. There is the heavens and there is Heaven."

Kai Jun drew to circles with one inside the other, "Heaven is an all powerful natural force that creates the lighting and the power that we used to grow more powerful, but the heavens is more like a kingdom or a group of people in the tenth realm that acts as a sort of counter force."

"Counterforce?" Braedon has never heard of something like that before. Kai Jun nodded and said, "It means that they do what they can to assure that the lightning strikes at th right people. There is an area an area separating both Heaven and earth, in this area those counter forces guard over a special field that directs the lightning to its target."

This made Braedon ponder for a second, "Why would they guard this field? Who would try to harm it?"

"Some people believe that only they should be allowed to reach the tenth realm. So they try to obstruct or destroy this field in order to keep Heaven from granting people its power."

A slow look of shock appeared in Braedon's mind as he remembered Kai Jun's words, "You were a part of that group, right! Didn't you say you battled against the heavens?!" That's when Kai Jun's raised up his hand to silence the questions.

"No, I was not a part of that group actually." He closed his eyes and allowed his mind to wander back to a time of horrifying wars, "back then, the ones in control of the heavens were selfish beings who wanted nothing more than to control that power for themselves. And I was something like a servant to them."

He clenched his fist tightly until blood was drawn, "I was forced to watch as so many people from women, to children, and to the old suffered to obtain strength uselessly as in the end they would be killed by this group."

Braedon listened to the details with an interested expression. His eyes went wide while he heard what Kai Jun's past was like but it wasn't over yet!

"Eventually my righteousness overcame me, with the help of a few of the others high ranking members of that group who disliked the way things were being done, gathered together and fought against them. It took hundreds of years but we were able to obtain and army and finally battle those bastards."

This left Braedon shellshock, the idea of a war that had changed the fate of all of the cultivators in the world forever blew his mind. "And after that? What happened?!"

Kai Jun just shook his head in denial and stood up. "I thinks we have rested for long enough, okay let's move on to our goal." Braedon couldn't help but exclaim his displeasure at this, "Oh come one! You didn't finish the story!"

Kai Jun turned around with saying anything and started waking, Braedon quickly put out the fire and ran along to catch up. As he looked up into the sky, he noticed that the sun was actually rising. They had somehow talked the whole night away in just a few sentences.

"Ugh, why is this world so weird!" Braedon screamed to the sky as he moved on.

Kai Jun just chuckled a bit as he thought back to the war so long ago. The bodies piled up as high as mountains along with the warriors at his side. His friend dying one by one as they fought the last battle for the final outcome.

He remembered slaughtering every single person in front of him as well as the feeling of the fire and lightning striking at him as they trapped him inside of a prison for weeks on end. But if he were to say what memory stuck out to him the most it was simply the feeling of anger and resentment ...

When he lost that war.
