Braedon needed to quickly escape the minotaur's range of attack. He swiftly ducked under the creatures swing of its giant club, which was just lying right beside it before it picked it up, and slid until he was directly under its loincloth.

He looked up to make sure of a certain fact and took his feather, swung it upwards toward the very well known weakness of all men, and heard a ~slit~ sound out. Braedon didn't look when he attacked but he didn't need to look to know what had happened.

A loud cry waited out from above him and Braedon used the feather to push himself as far away as possible. The beast collapsed onto its knees grabbing at its crotch with tears pouring out of his eyes.

Even Kai Jun couldn't help but comment on what a brute Braedon had become, "You monster." Braedon just felt his eye begin to twitch. How was he the monster when a literal monster was in front of them!

Although he had to say, even he felt bad for the sorry sight before him. They decided that the least they could do was put him out of his misery and Kai Jun waved to Braedon telling him to finish the deed.

Braedon walked up to the Minotaur and the creature looked toward with fear in his eyes. It tried to back away as if the devil himself was in front of it. Braedon felt his pride as a human being drop a little and raised up the blade only to bring it down slicing off its head soon after.

Honestly, he felt that this battle always a little anticlimactic, he didn't think that his attack would be so...effective?

After that battle was finished, they both moved on to the sixth floor. Before walking up its steps, Kai Jun turned and looked at Braedon, "Maybe we should keep that attack of your as a last resort..."

"..." Braedon had no words of retort and just trudged along up the stairs. While they were walking Braedon asked Kai Jun why he was holding back. There was no doubt in his mind that Kai Jun was hundreds, if not then thousands of times stronger than Braedon, yet he never killed the creatures himself but instead allowed Braedon to do it.

He explained that Braedon needed more experience on fighting different types of creatures. The Tower of the Zodiacs, or Kai Jun's name for the tower, was a mysterious area with many different creatures and monsters living inside of it.

And just as Braedon had thought, every floor represented a different animal of the Chinese zodiacs. Although it looked like their place in the tower did not correspond with anything or had any special pattern.

They rose up to the sixth floor where a large wooden gate loomed over them. On the door were actually engravings of what looked like a wolf, "So the next target is the dog. After this we only need to deal with maybe six more right?"

Kai Jun didn't answer Braedon's question as he walked up and push the door open. With little to no resistance, the gate swung open wide and a deep chill ran through his spine.

"What is-"

Before Braedon could finish his sentence, a large, three -headed dog rose up from its slumbering position. Each head had teeth as big as an adult man and its body was sleek with silver carvings covering it.

The heads all had a different feeling to them and when it roared each one released different breath attacks. The one on the right was ice, the on on the left was wind, and the one directly in the center was releasing fire.

Its glowing, pale-yellow eyes landed directly on Kai Jun and Braedon's position. The creature gave off a loud roar as it stepped toward them at an even pace. Braedon turned to his comrade right beside them.

"It seems that our opponent is a cerberose."

"Cerberus? Like the guardian dog to the flaming gates of the underworld in mythology?" Some thing this shouldn't have come as a shock to Braedon. If monsters like dragons or killer bunnies were real, then why not a mythological beast.

But Kai Jun shook his head, "They are nothing like that! Cerberose is a nature spirit that has chosen to live in the corpse of animals found in the wilderness. From there, they would search for partners and merge together with them in order to get different elemental resistances. They don't live in a fiery hellish landscape or anything like that, quite the opposite really as they like to stay in frozen tundras or icy cold mountains."

He nodded his head, hoping that Braedon understood what he had said. While he didn't fully understand what Kai Jun was talking about, he nodded his head back anyway. "So are these things strong?"

"Freakishly so."

As if to prove Kai Jun right, the cerberose blew a stream of fire in their direction. Kai Jun and Braedon jumped out of the way in opposite directions only to have the other two heads aim their breaths towards them as well.

Braedon quickly brought up the death and used it to deflect the beam while trying to move in closer to the cerberose. Although he looked distracted in his talk with Kai Jun, Braedon was actually also searching for their opponents weakness.

The first thing he noticed was that it had no natural armor. No scales or spikes were growing out of its body, so unless the fur was as hard as steel, it should've been most just made of averagely difficult to cut through flesh.

The second thing that he noticed was its slow movements. For some reason, it didn't try to charge forward or run after them. It only stood there blowing its breath and advancing a few steps at a time. It seemed that it either couldn't move a lot in general or was just to concentrated on its far-ranged attacks.

The third and final weakness was actually the movements of its heads. No matter when or how he looked at it, the monster was unable to turn on of its head far in one direction. It could do less of a ninety degrees turn and more of a forty-five degree turn.

With these weaknesses in mind, Braedon advanced without hesitation. As soon as he got close to it, he swiped his weapon to the side and blasted away the ice breath. Instead of moving in even more, he turned himself and began running circles around the cerberose instead.

The middle head and the head of wind were to distracted by Kai Jun to notice what Braedon was doing. So when the ice head instinctively turned to blow a breath at him , the one body that the three shared was forced along as well and their target left their sights as the direction they faced changed.

They decided in a split second to go with the flow and all three of them fired at Braedon, but this didn't worry him despite the feather not being able to handle the strike of all three of them at once.

As the three beams got closer, they began to intersect and merge together. But instead of them combining and becoming more powerful, they counteracted each other canceled the whol attack.

This was weakness number three. Since it couldn't turn its head all the way and Braedon action proved that each head could act on its own independent though, he placed himself directly in from of the fire head and prayed that all three would attack at the same time. Since the side heads needed to turn a bit to face him, Braedon knew that the breaths would intersect.

Kai Jun mentioned that it was an elemental beast and if games had taught him anything, one element would be weak to the other.

He took the risk of having the beams possibly harm him, but Braedon figured that the feather would keep his life at least.

A shadow appeared directly behind the middle head.

Kai Jun brought up his sword and plunged it deep into the fire head's skull. A sharp cry rang out as the other two looked at their fallen comrade.

They didn't expect such a sudden attack would happen and in that split second, Braedon ran in and sliced the neck of the ice head open.

The wind head felt its "brethren's" life force dimish and tried to run away. Unfortunately, weakness number two kicked in and Braedon and Kai Jun caught up in mere seconds.

With a final grunt, the two cultivators chopped off the last head and watched as it crashed into the ground. They landed near one another and Braedon held his hand out for a high five.

It took Kai Jun a moment to understand what he was doing but after he figured it out, a joyful look appeared onto his face.

"Six down, looks like we are halfway there!"
