Qi Bao threw down a strip of paper and a colorful field surrounded the group. A World Guarder was used in order to not harm the surrounding area, "I would rather not catch the attention of those city protectors." After finishing his sentence, Qi Bao pointed his saber toward and charged.
Braedon held out the feather in front of him as the tip of the saber was thrusted towards his head. Luckily a saber was not a piercing weapon so there was not a lot of force behind the strike.
Qi Bao smirked as he pushed his leg out and kicked Braedon in his gullet, pushing him back one meter.
Before he could recover from the kick, the two other cultivators who stood beside Qi Bao, moved in for the kill. One of them brought out a scythe while the other was aiming his bow at Braedon.
While a blue crystal arrow was shot towards Braedon's head, the scythe was swung around on a chain, connected by the hilt, at his legs. Braedon couldn't react quickly enough to dodge them, and the weapons slowly grew closer to his limbs and head.
Just then, Kai Jun appeared directly in front of him and slapped away the scythe while at the same time, he stopped the arrow in its tracks with just the tips of his fingers.
"Get yourself together!" He tossed the arrow aside and lifted Braedon, who had fallen on his bottom, up.
With a crack of his neck and knuckles, Braedon released his aura out and held his feather up with one hand. "I won't be caught unsafe again."
"Hey look behind you it's a giant dragon."
"Where!" Braedon looked behind himself to find he dragon that Kai Jun was speaking of.
Kai Jun on the other looked at Braedon with just pure disappointment, "You lies to me..."
In unison the two friends ran forward and moved at blinding speeds to face their opponents head on. Jingyi Lei was that a battle was about to transpire and tried to run off to an area far away in order to not get caught up in the crossfire.
Thanks to spending so much time together with each other, both Kai Jun and Braedon's thought patterns were very similar. As such they both knew what they had to in the situation that they were in.
Eliminate the sniper first.
Kai Jun ran ahead and produced a whip out of nowhere. Unlike Braedon, whose main weapon was the feather and everything else he was barely okay at using, Kai Jun was an expert in all types of equipments.
He smacked the whip over and patched it onto the scythe that Qi Bao's lackey had once more swung at them. He pulled back in an attempt to take the weapon out of his grasp but Kai Jun did not succeed.
"Your going to need a lot more than that in order to take away my scythe." The man said as he stared at Kai Jun with arrogant eyes.
"I don't need to take away your weapon, I just need to make sure you can't use it for a while." Just as he said this, Braedon flipped over the two combatants and headed straight for the man with the bow.
"Don't underestimate me, bastard!" The bowman knocked an arrow in and shot it at Braedon. He responded by swinging the feather up and slicing the projectile right down the middle.
He arrived in front of the bowman before the guy could add in another arrow and tried the stab him in the shoulder.
A look of surprise appeared on Braedon's face as the bowman swung his bow around and it collided into the feather, "Just because I use a projectile weapon, doesn't mean I'm not good at melee."
Braedon spun around quickly and tried to slash at the waist of his adversary. But the man pushed the tip of the bow into his thigh, stopping his movements. Then he did a spinning jump kick into the air and struck Braedon in his temple.
Braedon reeled back in pain and looked toward his opponent with a small smile on his face.
The man didn't understand why he was smiling as Braedon did not defeat him, until he looked down at his weapon and realized what the smile was for.
While he was doing the spin kick, Braedon ignored the attack and decided to take some damage in order to take the chance to cut the string of the bow.
The flames radiating from the feather cause it to burn to a crisp so the man would not be able to just tie it back together.
"Impossible, this bowstring is flame resistant, how the hell did he do it?" The man became distracted while trying to figure this out and Braedon took that chance swipe his feather in that direction.
A beam of light shot out and he bowman noticed just in time to jump out of the way.
Kai Jun wasn't doing so bad himself as he still had the scythe of his opponent within his trap.
The scythe user decided that he would get nowhere by just standing there and pulling on his scythe. Instead he tied the chain around his wrist and moved in for fist to fist combat.
Kai Jun could not release the whip or else the man would reclaim his scythe so he stepped forward with his arm pulled back as well. The two people's fist smashed into one another and a ~pop~ sound came out.
The man's leg slid along the ground as he kicked up dirt into Kai Jun's eyes. He was blinded and instinctively reached for his eyes, accidentally releasing the whip. The man reclaimed his scythe with a laugh and shouted out, "Looks like you dead meat now!"
He held the weapon by its shaft and swiped it down, hoping to slice off one of Kai Jun's arms. But he could not do it as Kai Jun's voice whispered out, "Guess I have to try that thing Braedon did."
He blocked off his sense of sight and focused everything he had into his sense of hearing. As the sound of metal cutting through the wind arrived ever closer to him, he clenched his fist, gritted his teeth, and moved his entire body along with his single punch onto the flat side of the scythe's blade.
A shock look appeared on the scythe user's face as several large cracks appeared on the blade before it shattered into pieces.
"What the-!" Then Kai Jun grabbed a handful of dust from the ground and shoved it down the man's throat, "I'm not one to hold grudges...but I hold so many grudges." A satisfied look appeared onto his face after he wiped away the dirt.
The two people retreated next to Qi Bao with an angry look on their faces, "These annoying sons of-"
"I swear if I don't kill them then I will never be satisfied."
Qi Bao looked at his two companions passively as he pulled out two daggers from his pockets. How he fit daggers into his jean pocket, the world may never know.
Kai Jun and Braedon has to watch in confusion as the stabbed the blades into his unknowing companion's back.
"What are you doing?" Braedon screamed over to Qi Bao with an angry expression and the response he got was a single phrase, "Preparing your death."
A hand was suddenly placed onto Braedon's shoulder and it pulled him back, "Those blades weren't normal, stand back."
The two men that were literally stabbed in the back collapsed onto the ground and began frothing at the mouth. As time passed, their skin became red and their aura shot out of their bodies in a berserker state.
Without even asking Braedon had an idea of what just happened, "Drug that increases the users strength at the cost of their lives?"
"Yep."
"Why is this bullsh*t always happening to us?"
Qi Bao gave off a cocky grin as he screamed, "Kill them all!"
Braedon and Kai Jun prepared themselves for what seemed to be a challenging battle. One held up his death in preparation while the other began snapping his whip around.
Jingyi Lei stood there petrified by the sight before him. Qi Bao has just turned his head over in his direction and mouthed out a few words to him, "Prepare to die."
