In a vast plains located about five hundred thousand kilometers away from Verdant Breeze Town, lies one of the four empires of the Azure Dusk Continent, The South Blizzard Empire.

Within the empire lies three grand level sects, with the strongest and most mysterious one out of all the three being the Divine Prophecy Sect.

In an important room of the Divine Prophecy Sect lies an orb ten meters in diameter and ten meters in height. This was the prized possession of the sect, the Fate-Seeking Orb.

A man was keeping an eye on the dull orb until the orb suddenly flashed red.

The man was quite surprised when it happened, but he remembered that many colors flash from the orb, so he just shrugged it off.

But then, the orb continued to flash red one more time. And another one. And another one. It flashed red to the point that it was quite seizure-inducing if one looked at it.

Fortunately, with the cultivation realm of the man being an unfathomable level, he was not affected by the flashing and sent a voice transmission to one of the most important people who held a lot of authority in the sect, the Divine Grand Elder."

"Grand Elder, the Fate-Seeking Orb is flashing a red color. At first, I thought it was normal, but when it flashed the color red multiple times, I couldn't help but have suspicions. If this color is of great importance, please do come here."

In a part of the sect was a small room that had an area of 70 square meters. There was no furnishing within the room whatsoever, but the room was shrouded in a misty blue fog. This blue fog was qi, but 100 times more dense than the density of qi in the outside world.

In it, lies a man who had silver-gray hair combed quite neatly. On his face were wrinkles that exuded age and wisdom. His irises were silver in hue, giving the illusion of stars and galaxies forming and collapsing within his eyes. This was one of the people in the sect with the greatest authority, the Divine Grand Elder.

Hearing the words from the man's voice transmission, The Grand Elder stopped cultivating and stood up with shock.

'How could this be possible? There should be at least a ten thousand year gap between the awakenings, but to think someone has awakened within a thousand years, seems quite odd.'

The Grand Elder rubbed his chin for a while as he processed his thoughts before heading out of the room to where the Fate-Seeking Orb was.

The man who was in-charge of guarding the Fate-Seeking Orb was currently walking back and forth as small beads of sweat dropped from his forehead.

'The orb has been flashing red for over ten minutes now. Does this mean anything?'

Anxious that the Grand Elder may not come, he tried to send a voice transmission again to the Grand Elder.

But surprisingly, before he could even do so, the door to the room was opened, revealing the Grand Elder's figure.

The man was ecstatic to see the Grand Elder. He hurriedly stood straight and respectfully bowed. "Greetings to the Grand Elder!"

The Grand Elder heard this and lightly nodded as he walked towards the Fate-Seeking Orb to get a better view. The orb continued to flash red, but once the Grand Elder got closer to the orb, the flash became less intense than before. This process continued until…

The flashing light was gone.

The Grand Elder tensed up a bit as he looked at this unique reaction. Suddenly, he got to a conclusion.

'It seems that there's a resonance. If that's the case, then it's definitely an awakening.'

The Grand Elder placed his hand on the orb, which felt cold to the touch. He then channeled his qi, which at first glance, was more compressed and pure than the qi shown by Shi Xingwan. The qi also held profound understandings, bringing the quality of his qi to another level.

Why is his qi like that, you may ask. That is because the Grand Elder has already reached the Supreme Principle [1] realm!

Afterwards, the qi from the Grand Elder entered the orb, allowing the Grand Elder to see what was happening on the other side. As to why this was happening, the Fate-Seeking Orb allowed the members of the Divine Prophecy Sect to see the event that would cause them their glory...or their doom.

In just a few seconds, the orb was covered with the view of a modestly sized room. The room was around 120 square meters in area, with large plants on the four corners of the room. On one side of the room was a large bay window that lit the whole room up. In front of this window was a desk made out of fine mahogany wood, giving it a rustic brown hue.

Behind the table sat a man in his middle years that exuded wisdom and experience. On the other side of the table, sat a young man that was about 1.73 meters in height. His aura was quite unstable, yet it had traces of vitality and cunningness.

At the moment when the Grand Elder looked at the young man, he couldn't help but take a few steps back as he shivered. Suddenly, the Grand Elder's eyes turned crimson red, to which the Grand Elder suppressed it from happening with qi.

"Grand Elder, what's wrong?" The guard of the room asked. He saw the movements of the Grand Elder quite vividly, so he thought there was something wrong.

Taking a deep breath, the Grand Elder turned around and answered the guard's question.

"A Descendant of the Eye has awakened."

With the Grand Elder's experience and long lifespan, he was sure that the young man had the eyes of that special person, even though it was in its most basic form.

'It seems that this man was fated to be cursed by the progenitor as well, what a terrible fate,' the Grand Elder sighed inwardly.

"Eh?! A Descendant?!" The guard hastily ran towards the Grand Elder's side, looking at the inside of the orb. To the guard, Descendants were extremely strong people, but that's a guess he made since he hasn't seen them yet. All he knew was that the same trait all the Descendants had…

...was crimson red eyes.

In a short amount of time, the guard could see two people within the orb. He looked at the Grand Elder and asked, "Who's the Descendant between the two?"

The Grand Elder pointed towards the young man and replied, "That one."

"Him?" The guard looked at the young man's features, and he was sure that the man didn't have crimson red eyes.

Being wise, the Grand Elder infused some of his qi into the orb as the orb zoomed in on the young man's face, revealing a closer look on his eyes.

In an instant, both of them could see a hint of crimson red on the young man's pupils.

"There's a bit of crimson red…" the guard looked at the Grand Elder, wanting to know what it implied.

Knowing what the guard wanted, "The crimson red pupils are a sign of the Descendants awakening. Even though it's the start of their awakening, they already have an advantage against normal cultivators."

'Let's just hope that this young man here won't come to destroy the sect,' the Grand Elder sighed inwardly.

Shi clan, Shi Xingwan's room.

Achoo!

Shi Li wiped his nose after he sneezed as he looked around. 'Is someone talking about me? Oh well.'

Shi Xingwan asked Shi Li, "Is there anything you want to add after I explained the tournament rewards to you?"

Shi Li went back to his original train of thought and nodded. "There is actually one reason as to why I came to this room, Father. It's my original reason as to why I came here rather than listening about the tournament."

'The rewards are quite good at my current state, but I need one thing for now.'

"Oh?" Shi Xingwan raised his eyebrow. "What is it, my son?"

Shi Li took a deep breath before replying, "I want to go outside and get some combat experience."

This was the thing Shi Li needed the most at the moment, combat experience. With combat experience, he would be able to think rationally in the midst of combat, allowing him to triumph over others with skills and wits.

Shi Xingwan frowned as he looked at his son. Gradually, a faint yet fierce aura radiated from Shi Xingwan's body as he asked, "Why do you want to gain combat experience, my son?"

Enduring the pressure he was getting from the aura his father released, he gritted his teeth as he answered, "With the tournament coming up in about two months, having combat experience would allow me to have an edge amongst my peers in terms of what moves to use and so on. Plus combat experience would increase my reaction speed, thinking speed, allowing me to go further in terms of my cultivation."

Shi Xingwan processed the answer Shi Li gave and thought that it was logical. 'With his cultivation at the peak of first stage, he's not ready for tempering yet. But his body's quality is that of the second stage already, having parts of his skin being compacted. With that, I could allow him to tread on the outskirts of that place. But should I?'

After a minute of hesitation, Shi Xingwan sighed as he retracted his aura. "Alright son. Since I have belief in your cultivation, you can go to the forest beside our clan and only fight against the beasts on the outskirts. Before you head to the forest, go to the Logistics Hall and ask for a basic survival kit. This will help you out in your tempering journey."

Shi Li respectfully bowed to his father before heading towards the door. "I shall treasure Father's words. Shi Li shall take his leave."

Slowly, Shi Li opened the door as he pulled. But all of a sudden, Shi Xingwan exclaimed.

"Wait a moment! I forgot to tell you something else."

Shi Li, who was one step outside the room, turned around to look at his father and asked.

"What is it, Father?"

Shi Xingwan's expression turned serious as he replied.

"Never ever enter the inner depths."
