After grabbing the book that fell from the bookshelf, Shi Li urged Moddy to grab the cultivation technique and go back to the courtyard.

...

Shi clan, Shi Li's courtyard.

Moddy placed the cultivation technique on a table as it looked at Shi Li with curiosity as to why he urged it to hurriedly go back to his courtyard.

"Well Moddy..." Shi Li took a deep breath. "If I told you I can make techniques better, would you believe me?"

In an instant, Moddy shook its head. "Of course not-nya, that's impossible-nya."

Shi Li lightly smiled at he grabbed Moddy's cultivation technique and lifted it up in the air.

"Identify."

In just seconds, a white screen popped up in front of Shi Li, showing the information about the cultivation technique.

[Reverberating Sonata Art]

[Item Type]: Cultivation Technique

[Grade]: D++

[Author]: Mao Fengyan

[Amount of Pages]: 332

This cultivation technique was created by a beast tamer that had cats specializing in sound and waves. She saw that there was a way to make their cultivation path easier, thus creating this technique. But its full version was long erased from history, limiting the grade of this cultivation technique to D++.

Once the cat cultivates this technique to the Peak of Skin Tempering, the sound it generates would travel twice the distance than what was previously possible.

(Can be fixed)

~~~~~~~~
"I would like to fix this technique."
~~~~~~~~

It would cost 40% of your mental energy to fix the technique.

Current mental energy amount: 150%

Would you like to fix the technique?

~~~~~~~~
'Oh? It costs 10% less to fix a technique now? It seems it has something to do with 20% increased mental energy efficiency. Anyways, it doesn't make much of a difference.'
'Fix the technique!'
Weeeennnggg...
The book holding the technique started to glow and float up in the air, making Moddy drop its jaw from shock.
The book then spiralled around as the cover covering the book was turning into a dark red leather that had intricate carvings of felines in gold.
If one were to compare the old cover of the technique to the current one, they wouldn't even think that it's the same one. But since Moddy saw the process, it definitely knew that it was the same technique.
After half a minute, the spinning of the book stopped as it landed on Shi Li's hand. Shi Li looked at the book with an expectant expression. Back then, he fainted in an instant once he finished repairing his cultivation technique. But now, with increased mental energy, he was still able to stand strong.
'Identify.'
[Sonorous World Sonata Art]
[Item Type]: Cultivation Technique
[Grade]: C
[Author]: Mao Fengyan & Nonpareil Eye Interface
[Amount of Pages]: 255
This cultivation technique was created by a beast tamer known for her cats that specialized in the field of sound and waves. Finding out that there was a way to speed up their cultivation and their abilities' effects, she crafted this technique. Any cat that specialized in the field of sounds would create a sonata of the world, invoking multiple emotions.
Once the cat cultivates this technique to the Peak of Skin Tempering, the sound generated by the cat's ability would travel three times the distance than what was normally possible.
"Hahahaha!" All of a sudden, Shi Li laughed out loud as his laugh resounded throughout the library. It surprised Moddy a bit, but since it thought that Shi Li was laughing, it meant that something good happened.
"Shi Li-nya, what happened-nya? What did you do-nya?" Moddy saw the process with its own beady eyes, but it still wanted to know the answer from Shi Li himself.
Shi Li coughed a bit before responding.
"I repaired the technique."
"Nya?" Moddy didn't really understand.
Shi Li saw the look of confusion on Moddy's face and gave the newly repaired technique to Moddy. "Take a look for yourself."
Moddy received the technique with both paws and started to read it from the first page to its last. At the start, Moddy was skeptical of what Shi Li meant by repair, but as it continued to read, its eyes glistened, looking at Shi Li with awe.
"Nya! This is an even better technique than what I was going to cultivate-nya!" Moddy said ecstatically. "Thank you, Shi Li-nya!"
Shi Li chuckled. "It's not a problem, since we're friends, I'll give you the best, of course. Well, remove your current cultivation and start cultivating from the beginning, you'll see greater effects once you get back to the Peak of Skin Tempering."
Shi Li then held the book he picked up and raised it up. "I'm gonna go fix this technique as well hehe." He then walked to another room in his house as he didn't want to disturb Moddy from cultivating.
...
Once he found a room in his house that was slightly far from Moddy, he sat cross-legged and placed the martial technique on the floor.
[Magma Swipe]
[Item Type]: Martial Technique
[Grade]: D
[Author]: Ren Zhenre
[Amount of Pages]: 132
A technique crafted by a cultivator who had no affinity for any element, but went to craft on this technique and became a famed cultivator.
The technique allows the cultivator to use the pressure exerted by the hammer on the earth when slamming down into heat, turning the earth into magma that could flung to a great distance.
Once the technique is cultivated to perfection, the cultivator can create a magma pool twice the diameter of the hammer head, increasing the amount of magma available to be used.
Flaws: 732
~~~~~~~~

Shi Li's eyes lit up as he knew that this was the technique made for him. This technique was a fusion of the two previous Low Human martial techniques, but without the need for any elemental affinity.

'But since it's a combination of two elements, it's bound to be harder to cultivate to perfection. This is the choice I've made, and I'll stick to it till the very end! Repair the technique!'

~~~~~~~~
It would cost 40% of your mental energy to fix this technique.
Current mental energy amount: 111%
Would you like to fix this technique?
~~~~~~~~

Without hesitation, he shouted inwardly once more.

'Repair the technique!'

Weeeeng...

Rather than floating up and spinning mid-air, the technique lied down on the floor as it emanated a faint light. The light intensified until it became too bright for Shi Li's eyes.

Once the light was intense enough, the cover covering the technique gradually changed to a more exquisite and magnificent cover made out of better materials.

It took a few minutes for the technique to be finished repairing, with Shi Li ending up feeling slightly tired.

'I only have 70% of my mental energy remaining. Haah...at least it's better than fainting for no reason.'

The cover on the book was made with patched leather, with various shades of red and orange. This gave the book a look of magma covering it. On the middle was an imprint of a black hammer.

[Ardent Magma Manipulation Art]

[Item Type]: Martial Technique

[Grade]: D++

[Author]: Ren Zhenre & Nonpareil Eye Interface

[Amount of Pages]: 97

A technique crafted by a cultivator who had affinities for the flame and earth element, but wanted cultivators who had no affinity for said elements to be able to utilize both elements.

The technique allows the cultivator to create a small magma pool with their hammer, letting the cultivator use it anyway they like.

Once the technique is cultivated to perfection, the cultivator can create decently sized magma pools with a swipe of the hammer, allowing the cultivator to use more magma in their attacks.

Flaws: 428

~~~~~~~~
"Hahaha! It amazes me everytime!" Shi Li couldn't help but laugh out loud again, seeing a low grade technique be transformed into a technique of a higher caliber.
"The effects are definitely better. Magma Swipe allowed me to only use magma when swiping the hammer from left to right, while Ardent Magma Manipulation Art allows me to use magma as I see fit," Shi Li praised the technique for its effects.
He then placed the technique on his waist, afraid of someone stealing it. Afterwards, he asked people the whereabouts to get weapons, and ended up going to the Logistics Hall after half an hour has passed.
...
Ding!
Shi Li tapped the bell on the L-shaped counter as he patiently waited for someone to attend to him.
"Yes? How may I help y-ah! If it isn't the one that entered the Forest of Ruin!" A man who was in his 30s came to attend Shi Li and exclaimed in surprise.
Shi Li dryly chuckled before bowing respectfully. "Greetings Senior, we meet again. Thank you for helping me out back then."
The man laughed as he waved his hand. "No worries, it's just my job. So what can I do for ya?"
Shi Li responded in a heartbeat. "I asked around and found that this was the place to get training weapons. May I ask if I can get a training hammer?"
The man's eyes slightly widened as he pondered for a bit before nodding. "A training hammer...definitely a rare thing to request for, but you're in luck! We still have a few training hammers available even though only a few clan members use the hammer as their main weapon."
"Let me just get it for you," the man said as he turned around and walked to the storage room, leaving Shi Li to wait.
As Shi Li started to daze off, a voice came from the storage room, startling Shi Li.
"May I ask why you need a training hammer?"
Shi Li replied once he realized that the voice came from the man. "I would use the training hammer to cultivate my first martial technique."
"Your first martial technique huh? Well, I wasn't really expecting that answer since some of the female clan members borrow the training hammers and give it back with the shafts wet the following day. I thought that you were into those kinds of things as well," the man said as he continued to rummage through the storage room.
Shi Li coughed a bit of blood before swallowing it back and dryly laughing afterwards. "Senior jokes too much."
The man continued, "Well I saw that your cultivation is at the Second Stage of Skin Tempering, the time when our clan members get their first martial technique. Ah! Speaking of which, are you going to enter the tournament two months from now?"
Shi Li nodded even though the man couldn't see it. "Yes, I plan to cultivate my martial technique so I could get a spot in the tournament."
"Well then," the man came back while holding a wooden hammer as he looked at Shi Li. "I hope you do reach a good spot, I'm gonna bet on your wins if you do," the man chuckled as he gave the wooden hammer to Shi Li.
Shi Li received the hammer as he examined it. The shaft was a bit over half a meter long while the head was around 15 centimeters in diameter. He then bowed respectfully as he said, "Thanks to Senior for helping me out."
The man smiled. "No problem, it's my job anyway. Also, call me Senior Yan when you come to the Logistics Hall again, okay?"
Shi Li nodded. "This junior understands. See you later, Senior Yan."
He then walked out of the Logistics Hall as he felt the hammer up.
'The hammer has some weight into it. Well then, let's start cultivating!'
