At an exclusive place within the Shi clan arena, lies Shi Xingwan as he looks down at the stage.

From the start of the tournament, the only thing he cared about was whether his son grew stronger within the previous two months. It would sound selfish, but thinking that most of the participants are all old-timers, it would seem pretty logical.

'Shi Li's already 16 years old, which is an age extremely higher than those 13 or 14 year olds...but I can't forget about that one of course. Even though he's 17 years old and he can break through to the realm of Bone Tempering at any time, he still doesn't do it. I don't know what kind of motive he has, but we all have our own different paths I guess.'

After the usual purge of those wishful First Stage cultivators, Shi Li stood up on stage with shock and let out his full strength.

'Son, I wonder how far you've come...'

With a bang, Shi Li's fist landed squarely on the pillar, shocking everyone looking at the pillar within seconds...and making Shi Xingwan stand up from shock as well.

'W-W-What?!' He was already satisfied with his son being a slightly special cultivator, but to think that this came from his son, made him look at his son from a new perspective.

60 ren! A strength comparable to those at the First Stage of Bone Tempering! This came out of his son! How could he not be shocked?

He blinked twice and rubbed his eyes to see if he was hallucinating, only to end up grinning and laughing to himself at the end.

"Hahahaha! I've given birth to a great son! A son that we've nurtured! Wei'er, if you're seeing this, your son is alive and well. He hasn't awakened your bloodline, neither has he fulfilled the third condition. Yet he still defied everyone with this shocking display of strength! Hahaha!"

He sat down a while later and deduced a theory as to how Shi Li was able to kill beasts that have the realm of the Peak of Bone Tempering, even at his measly Second Stage cultivation realm.

"With the help of his body strength, and his attack technique, he was able to bridge the gap of almost two full realms between them and defeated it without any problem."

As he said this, he rubbed his chin.

"But how did he..."

All of a sudden, a memory entered his head as he remembered Shi Li saying something in his office.

"Father, I have found a way to integrate my cultivation technique into my attacks..."

And from there, he frowned. He wasn't sure as to how it worked, but he did have a plausible answer.

"Integrating cultivation techniques into attacks is something extremely common, but the idea only struck me when I was at the Early Creation realm. Does the time of integration have to do something with the comprehension speed of the cultivator, or is it something else?"

After pondering a bit more, he shook his head and sighed, continuing to look at the stage.

"I'll just ask him later, it's not like he has a big secret to keep right?"

But Shi Xingwan didn't know...that Shi Li was definitely hiding something.

...

Shi clan, Clan Arena.

Multiple screams of disbelief could be heard throughout the arena as they saw the number that came out of the pillar from Shi Li's punch.

"That's impossible! The strength of a Bone Tempering cultivator, coming from a Skin Tempering cultivator? That isn't physically possible at all!"

"You know? Shi Li may be messing with us and he's already a Bone Tempering cultivator! He should be disqualified!"

"Yeah, disqualify him!"

"Disqualify!"

"Disqualify!"

One theory touched the seeds of doubt of multiple people, gaining the approval of the majority. In just a breath's time, the other participants set Shi Li as public enemy number one.

Shi Xingtai looked at the other participants and sighed. With the help of his qi, he was able to see that Shi Li hasn't gone through the process of bone compression, which is a sign of someone at the realm of Bone Tempering. The only difference with Shi Li from other Skin Tempering cultivators was that his skin was more compacted than theirs.

He then looked at Shi Li and was surprised to see that he wasn't standing up for himself. He only turned around to face the crowd and sat down as he took all of the harsh words they threw at him.

He wanted to protect Shi Li since he was his brother's son, but didn't as he wanted to see Shi Li's limit.

...

Shi Li didn't know why he was hated, he just did what the First Elder said and accomplished it to a T. Confused as to what was happening, he decided to sit down and look at the crowd solemnly as he pondered on his next plan.

As he pondered, out of nowhere, he felt someone staring at him, to which he stared back as he examined the person's appearance.

The person had his black hair tied into a ponytail that went down his back, and his irises were a silvery white hue, devoid of any emotion. His body was a stark contrast to Shi Li's, filled with vigor and vitality through the streamlined muscles he had, he was even a head taller than Shi Li. This person would be eventually known as Shi Li's life-and-death companion, with the moniker of 'Ten Samsara Immortal Daoist' in the far future.

They stared at each other for a bit before laughing, as if they were friends for a long time.

The other participants saw Shi Li laughing and instantly asked the question, "Why's he laughing?"

In a short amount of time, the person Shi Li stared at came up on a stage and landed beside him. He then radiated an aura that wasn't as strong as Shi Xingtai's, but was still ferocious to the other participants that didn't have much experience compared to others.

Once the person did so, all of the other participants shut their mouths and looked at the person with fear. In the meantime, the person beside Shi Li extended his hand towards Shi Li and helped him stand up.

Shi Li looked at him and clasped his hands before bowing. "Thanks for helping out, my name's Shi Li. What's your name?"

The person grinned as he looked at Shi Li and said, "Shi Shisi, that's my name. It means ten deaths. You'll come to understand as to why."

He then continued to examine Shi Li from head to toe and said, "Man, if I weren't here, then you'd be the only person among us that has the sturdiest foundation. You might not know this, but I'm trying to achieve the most solid foundation ever."

Shi Li understood what he meant by sturdy foundation, but he didn't know as to why this guy was trying to achieve an extremely solid foundation. "Is there any reason?"

Shi Shisi responded with, "Verdant Breeze Town isn't the limit for us. There's still the cities, kingdoms, empires and the other continents of Xiuzhen Planet waiting for us! Only with a sturdy foundation can we fight against those cultivators to a standstill!"

He then looked at the other participants and said coldly, "You guys have only set your limits to become some sort of town leader, but you're going to regret that in the end because there's more potential within all of you. For now, to show you the potential everyone has, let me show you guys what real power is."

He asked Shi Li to step aside and went to the side of the strength pillar, bending his knees and letting a punch of massive power. Within a second, the number on the pillar exceeded Shi Li's, stopping at 80 ren not long after.

This number made the other participants break out into clamor once more, badmouthing Shi Shisi just like how they badmouthed Shi Li. But Shi Shisi didn't bother with it, deciding to look at Shi Li instead.

Shi Li gasped with awe at Shi Shisi, saying, "80 ren! That's unbelievable! If we fought, I'm sure that I'm gonna lose to you."

Shi Shisi shook his head and placed his hand on Shi Li's shoulder. "You're sorely mistaken, you're still at the Second Stage of Skin Tempering, and I'm at the Third Stage of Skin Tempering. You were able to achieve that at your cultivation level, which means you have more potential than me," Shi Shisi then chuckled.

Shi Li chuckled as well. "After this tournament, do you want to engage in a training session with me, talk about how to attain sturdier foundations and such?"

Shi Shisi smiled and nodded. "I'd be glad to, but let's put the tournament as our main priority first."

Shi Shisi looked at Shi Xingtai and bowed respectfully. "I apologize for interrupting First Elder. The second round can start now."

Shi Xingtai waved his hand as he lightly smiled. "Not a problem really, these 13 and 14 year olds should learn that there's someone better than them anyway. You two can go now."

Shi Shisi and Shi Li bowed once more to Shi Xingtai and left the stage, letting Shi Xingtai do his thing.

'Thanks to his addiction, he was finally able to achieve the phenomenon of 'Surpassing Realms.' I'm surprised that Shi Li was able to do that as well, two small realms is still a huge gap. Anyways, let's start the second round.'

He took a deep breath before shouting, "Shut up, all of you!"

All of the participants that complained as to how the two of them were cheating silenced themselves in an instant, letting Shi Xingtai's voice reach the ends of the arena.

"Well, now that the first round is over, let's start with the second round. Since all of you are at least at the Second Stage of Skin Tempering, it means that you're able to train in your first martial technique."

"With that train of thought, this round shall test the level of comprehension you've achieved with your first martial technique. If you achieve the adept level of comprehension, then you pass the second round. Any less, you get disqualified."

"So...let us begin!"
