"Senior Yan?!" Shi Li couldn't help but blurt out.

"Haha. Hello Shi Li," Senior Yan smiled and waved at Shi Li.

"Senior Yan, what are you doing here?" Shi Li took a few steps back, just in case Senior Yan wanted to do things to him.

"Oh, you know. Just wandering around the area," Senior Yan lightly chuckled as he saw Shi Li's actions.

"Moddy, stay on guard. We might have to fight against this guy," Shi Li whispered through Moddy's ear.

Moddy nodded after it heard the statement. "Got it-nya."

Shi Li took a few deep breaths before engaging in a banter with Senior Yan. He wanted to know the true reason as to why Senior Yan was behind him.

"Senior, I heard that you talked about a bloodline interface just before I started to walk away."

"Oh that," Senior Yan nodded. "That's what you have, a bloodline interface."

"Could you elaborate on that?" Shi Li raised his eyebrows as Moddy looked at Senior Yan with a solemn gaze.

Senior Yan felt the aura that the two of them were releasing, and couldn't help but laugh. Shi Li and Moddy looked at each other before looking back at Senior Yan with questioning gazes.

"Do you think I would do something bad to you?" Senior Yan asked.

Shi Li nodded, to which not long after, Moddy nodded as well. "That's the situation going on in my head."

"I had a feeling...sorry about that," Senior Yan dryly chuckled as he awkwardly scratched his head. "I seem to surprise everyone with my specially crafted skill."

As he said this, Senior Yan circulated his qi and within seconds, he became one with nature. There was no trace of his aura nor his scent. It was as if he wasn't there.

Shi Li was dumbfounded with his current situation. He looked around his surroundings and felt that he was hallucinating. But all of a sudden, a finger tapped on his shoulder. He turned his head and saw Senior Yan grinning at him.

Shi Li hurriedly made a gap between them and looked at Senior Yan as if he was the scariest beast he'd ever seen. "H-H-How did you do that?"

"As I said, it's my specially crafted skill. I call it the [World's Empathy]," Senior Yan responded.

Shi Li heard the term 'specially crafted skill' and looked at Senior Yan with curiosity. "By specially crafted skill, that means you crafted it by yourself?"

Senior Yan nodded and lightly frowned. "Well, of course. Why would I call it my specially crafted skill if I didn't make it myself?"

"Well, I've read through the clan libraries that by reaching perfection level of comprehension, the cultivator is able to modify the skill to their needs," Shi Li explained.

"That's just modifying an already available skill, a specially crafted skill is something made from scratch. They're worlds apart in terms of effects," Senior Yan said.

Shi Li understood what Senior Yan was telling him and placed the information about specially crafted skills into the back of his head. He then went back to his original train of thought and asked, "What are bloodline interfaces?"

Senior Yan rubbed his beard as he tried to recollect the information about bloodline interfaces. "Sorry if it takes me a while, I've been alive for hundreds of years already and it takes a while for me recall certain information."

Shi Li caught the detail of Senior Yan living for hundreds of years already and started to hypothesize.

'If Senior Yan has lived for hundreds of years already, does that mean that he's at a really high cultivation realm?'

'The lifespan of an Ascended Mortal is only 150 years. Is Senior Yan possibly at the realm higher than an Ascended Mortal?'

After a few minutes of pondering, Senior Yan started to talk, which jolted Shi Li from his session of contemplation.

"Okay. So bloodline interfaces. What are bloodline interfaces? Let's start with the definition of bloodlines, okay?"

"Bloodlines are in short, the lineage of blood of a certain family or clan. With the help of cultivation, having a special bloodline would allow people to do things that were deemed impossible back then. Teleportation, flight, increased attributes, and so on. But the most special effects bloodlines can give are bloodline interfaces."

"Bloodline interfaces are interfaces that assist the cultivator in their cultivation and allow them to choose their own path, rather than relying on the effect given by their bloodline to cultivate."

"Bloodline interfaces are only achievable with the following factors: it's either you have an extremely pure bloodline close to the bloodline primogenitor, or..."

Senior Yan leaned closer as he wanted Shi Li to imprint these words into his mind. "Your bloodline's specialty is the interface itself."

Shi Li thought about it for a while and asked, "So you're telling me that my bloodline's specialty is an interface? Are you going to steal it from me?"

"Steal it?" Senior Yan started to chuckle as he looked at Shi Li's confused expression. "Why do I have to? I have one of my own."

Before Shi Li could say anything, Senior Yan muttered out, "Status."

Weeeng...

Within seconds, a screen quite similar to the white screen Shi Li gets, popped up in front of Senior Yan's face.

"W-W-W-W-White screen?!" Shi Li couldn't believe it.

"Face the truth, kid. It's a bloodline interface you're seeing," Senior Yan said solemnly.

After a few seconds, the white screen dissipated on its own as Senior Yan looked at Shi Li.

Shi Li gulped his saliva as he said, "S-S-Since you showed me your b-b-bloodline interface, I-I know your s-s-secret, r-right? A-A-Are you gonna k-k-kill m-me?"

"Kill you?" Senior Yan raised his eyebrow. "Where'd you get that idea from? Is it from my scary looks? Do I really look scary?" He then put on a sad face.

"N-No? I-If so, why did y-you t-t-tell me all of t-this?" Shi Li asked.

Senior Yan smiled before turning around. "I want to teach you the ways of utilizing the bloodline interface to its fullest."

"Eh?" Shi Li didn't expect that answer. He looked at Moddy before looking back at Senior Yan. "Are you s-serious Senior?"

"Of course I am! I'll teach you how to become stronger than that Shi Shisi and even teach you my specially crafted skill! I can even teach you how to make a skill of your own!" Senior Yan had a grin on his face as he faced Shi Li once more.

"You do know we've only met like twice through the Logistics Hall, right Senior?" Shi Li asked.

Senior Yan nodded. "I know. I didn't really want to do this, but I feel like something big is going to happen in a few months. It may just be my gut feeling, but most of the time, it isn't wrong."

Shi Li wanted to accept the offer as he had to test things out by himself from the start of getting the bloodline interface. With the help of a good mentor, he might be able to utilize more of the interface without becoming too reliant on it.

"How do I know if you're sincere about your offer?" Shi Li asked.

Senior Yan cleared his throat before answering the question. "As I've said, I'll teach you all you need to know about bloodline interfaces. Not only that, I'll even offer you a special auxiliary technique I've scrounged from my travels."

"An auxiliary technique?" It was the first time Shi Li has heard of an auxiliary technique.

"Auxiliary techniques are techniques that enhance the cultivators' capabilities, may it be combat, regenerative properties, and et cetera. But for the most part, auxiliary techniques are called that because they're auxiliary, and they're techniques," Senior Yan explained.

Shi Li didn't know what an auxiliary technique was, but he had a hunch that the technique would save him multiple times in the future.

"Is that all?" Shi Li asked. He wanted to see what were Senior Yan's limits in terms of conditions.

"I'd also teach you my specially crafted skill, [World's Empathy]. It's a High Earth grade skill. If I teach you this technique, only use it in emergencies, okay?" Senior Yan sighed as he said this. His prized possession became an offer just to pull Shi Li to his side.

Shi Li nodded once more. "Is there anything else?"

Senior Yan frowned a bit as he heard this question. Yet all of a sudden, a thought from years ago entered his mind as he looked at Shi Li with a grin.

"My last offer to you is that I'll tell you all about your mother."

Shi Li fell into a daze. Throughout his life of over three months in this world, the only parent he had was Shi Xingwan, the patriarch of Shi clan. And to think that, the one managing the Logistics Hall knew who his mother was.

"Y-You know my mother?" Shi Li trembled as he asked this. He had a feeling that this was a once in a lifetime chance and he shouldn't waste it.

"Indeed, I do. I'll tell you all about her once you finish the tournament. That's when our training starts as well," Senior Yan told Shi Li as he started to circulate his qi. Gradually, he melded with the surrounding nature and disappeared without a trace.

Before Senior Yan truly left, he whispered into Shi Li's ear, "I'll be watching your performance."

Whoosh.

Within seconds, only Shi Li and Moddy were left in the area. Shi Li looked at Moddy before looking down at the ground.

"My mother, huh."

Out of nowhere, he clenched his fists before facing forward. He then started to walk back to the clan arena.
