Shi clan, Shi Li's courtyard, noon.

"Huh...where am I...?" Shi Li gradually opened his eyes as he tried to sit down. He slowly tilted his head to look at the surroundings, when out of nowhere, a sharp pain attacked his head.

"Agh!"

All of a sudden, the sound of hasty footsteps resounded throughout where Shi Li was sitting, revealing a 15 year old wearing an apron, looking at him with worry.

It took a while for the pain to subside as Shi Li slowly looked at the origin of the sound. At first, he saw a blur, but as he gradually came to, instead of being vigilant as to who the person was, his jaw dropped down to the floor because of the immense shock he currently felt.

"S-S-Shi Kuai?!" Shi Li really didn't expect that a person he fought in the tournament that had a temperament of being filled with bloodlust, actually had this side to him.

"Yes?" Shi Kuai looked at Shi Li with his head tilted. Shi Li couldn't help but cover his mouth because he could feel like he was becoming attracted to Shi Kuai.

The combination of the apron and a 15 year old face was somewhat enchanting, to say the least.

Shi Li coughed to remove the indecent thoughts in his mind, and asked, "What are you doing here?"

Shi Kuai understood why Shi Li looked at him weirdly and carefully explained. "Well, I came to your courtyard because you promised that you were going to fix my secret technique."

Shi Li nodded. "I did. Why so early though?"

"Well...I feel the side effects becoming more obvious as time passes. The more I use this technique will be detrimental to my foundation, you know?"

"Mhm, mhm. Anyways, what's with the getup?"

"Oh, this? Well I came at a time where you fainted at your training area, so I dragged you to your bed and made you some soup."

"Speaking of which..." Shi Kuai then hurriedly ran towards the kitchen and came back to Shi Li's bedroom with a piping hot bowl of soup.

Shi Li kindly received it but he still had a weird look on his face. "Why are you doing this? Is it because I'm fixing your technique? Don't you hate me?"

Shi Kuai raised his eyebrows as he looked at him. "Hate you? That was just for the tournament. Seeing that you entered the tournament brought a new variable which made things a bit more interesting. I felt like acting like some sort of arrogant cultivator added more pizzazz to the tournament." Shi Kuai laughed as he removed his apron.

"Anyways, we're clan members aren't we? Fighting would be detrimental to the team work a clan would output when an enemy attacks us," Shi Kuai sat on Shi Li's bed as he said this.

"So you don't hate me at all?" Shi Li took a spoonful of the soup and instantly felt warmed up. "Mmm, that's good."

Shi Kuai shook his head as he smiled lightly. "How was it? It's the secret recipe my mother cooks up everytime I get sick. I learned it from her and for some reason I became the chef of the family, hehe."

Shi Li chuckled a bit as he finished the whole bowl in one go without complaining about the temperature of the soup. In a few seconds, he felt like his body was filled with energy as he stood up from his bed and did a few basic movements.

"Thanks! I feel like my body is back in its peak condition!" Shi Li grinned.

Shi Kuai waved his hand as a gesture of saying that it wasn't a problem. "Speaking of which, I found a book beside your unconscious body before I dragged you. Is it the reason why you fell unconscious?"

Shi Li slightly tensed up as he asked, "W-Where is it?"

"It's here," Shi Kuai retrieved an orange book from the insides of his robe, giving the book to Shi Li.

Shi Li looked at the name of the book and saw the similarities between the previous name and the current name, prompting him to put it under his bed for now as he let out a sigh of relief.

"About my technique..." Shi Kuai clenched his fists.

"Oh yeah, where is it?" Shi Li asked.

Shi Kuai then brought a yellow book from the insides of his robe and gave it to Shi Li. Shi Li received it and silently identified it using the interface.

"I see, I see," Shi Li muttered. He then looked at Shi Kuai, saying, "I'll give the fixed technique tomorrow at your courtyard. Thanks for the soup, it was good."

Shi Kuai didn't know why he was being forced to leave but he nodded as he felt that Shi Li was hiding a secret. One of the main rules of cultivation anyway was to never ask other people about their secrets. People get fortuitous encounters many times anyway.

"Got it. You know where my courtyard is, right?"

"Yep."

"See you tomorrow then."

With that last statement, Shi Kuai bent his knees as he exerted all of his strength, propelling him forward at a speed where he could cross tens of meters every second.

Shi Li looked at the direction of Shi Kuai's silhouette for a while before letting out a sigh. "Phew! That was close! If he read the book any further, he might keep it for himself."

"Anyways, it's quite interesting for him to have a Middle Human grade secret technique at his cultivation realm. Then again, I have High Human grade techniques to practice on the daily," Shi Li lightly laughed.

Shi Li then grabbed the orange book from under his bed and identified it with the help of the interface.

In an instant, a white screen appeared in front of Shi Li's face as usual, but he couldn't help but feel shocked at the difference between the previous technique and the current technique. It was more shocking than the difference between [Lava Shield] and [Scalding Magma Barrier]!

Shi Li cracked his fingers as he licked his lips as if he met his prey.

He bent his knees and exerted all of his strength as he started heading towards the training arena.

"Let's start cultivating!"
