Skylar was sitting with Lola during lunch-time. They both had got some food and they were eating.
"How was science?" Lola asked.
"It was okay."
"No boy drama." Lola probed.
"No much, I mean Jessie was suspicious."
"About what?"
"Reign and I."
"Why?" said Lola.
"Well he got in class whilst I was talking to Reign. And he started to ask about Friday because Reign wouldn't tell him what we talked about."
"How did you get out of it?"
"I just said I was uncomfortable seeing Reign and Karly sucking face during English."
Lola burst out laughing, "You are my spirit animal." Lola's face became thoughtful, "But what were you and Reign talking about before Jessie came in."
"Mainly about Friday and Tyler said something weird."
Skylar saw Lola stiffen, "What did he say?"
Before she could reply the bell rang and Skylar was more frustrated when she realized that she had to go to English next, which made Lola laugh and she could tell that she had loosened up a bit. They got up.
"Enjoy." Lola said, trying to hold back the laughter.
"Don't hold back for my sake."
Lola then let out a bit of laughter. "Your face is killing me."
Skylar made her way to English and she was a bit puzzled when she saw Karly standing but the door. Before she could pass her, Karly stopped her.
"New girl, we need to talk." Karly said, and she motioned for her to follow her. Skylar's heart was beating very fast as she followed her. Why was she nervous? She hadn't done anything wrong.
They got outside, and no-one was there, and they sat by a bench. Karly turned to her and tilted her head. "What were you and Reign talking about on Friday?"
Alarm bells started to ring on her head. How did she know? Oh, shit did they tell her.
"I don't remember, I was a bit drunk and the whole night was hazy."
"Don't try to lie new girl. I know that you went outside with him but for what?"
"Why don't you ask your boyfriend?"
"You see, I can't because I would just come off as a psycho."
But you are one, Skylar thought.
"He was shocked to see me there and we talked about school, I think."
"I don't think so, New girl."
"If you don't believe me then why bother asking?"
Karly raised her eyebrow, "You are in position to tell me that new girl. After going with my boyfriend outside. Alone on top of that. You should be apologizing to me."
"For what?"
"Who knows what you did." Karly said.
"Exactly, which is nothing. I told you that I don't want Reign." Skylar was wondering why she had just doubted her own answer.
"You are testing my patience new girl."
Skylar saw something dangerous in Karly's eyes, she wasn't in the mood to entertain her. "Fine, we also talked about Jessie."
She saw that took Karly aback.
"Jessie?" Karly said, with a confused look on her face, with a mixture of relief.
"Yes, Jessie."
"Why didn't you say so?" said Karly.
"It's not something that one can just talk about."
"New girl, there is another war then waiting for you."
"Huh?"
"You see new girl, Jessie is also wanted by many."
"Okay."
"We are very late, we need to go class." Karly said.
Skylar looked at her watch and saw that they were half an hour late. She got up abruptly, and she and Karly made their way to the classroom.
When they got there, Karly got in first and she was behind her. Thank heavens the teacher hadn't said anything not that she expected her to say anything to her.
When Skylar looked up, she encountered, Reign's gaze.
He had a question in his eyes, but she looked away, not wanting to be in the same predicament she was in just now.
She took her seat. And took out her books.
"Where were you?" Reign said to Karly.
"I was out and about." Karly replied,
The teacher got up, "Now that you are all here. There is a huge assignment for English."
Skylar took out her journal to write down the due date.
"It's due in three weeks and you will be doing it in groups with the people who are sitting next to you. So you will be in three's."
Skylar felt as if they had punched her, what the hell? She would be working with Reign and Karly. No, this can't be happening. She wanted to protest or swap a group, but she knew no-one would want to. Who wants to be a third wheel?
The teacher gave one of the students papers to hand out, when we got one neither Reign nor Karly seemed interested it what it said.
Skylar took the paper and started to read it through, she felt Reign's hot breath on her neck. She turned to him, "I will give it to you when I am done."
"It's cool, I prefer reading it like this." He replied.
Skylar wanted to panic. She knew Karly would be watching, so she held out the paper to Karly. Who looked shocked.
"You guys can now read it."
"No. Thanks." Karly sneered.
Skylar held it out for Reign,
"It's fine the way we were reading it." Reign said.
"I am done, so you can read it yourself."
Reign took the paper and after five minutes he put it down.
"What's your number?" Reign said to her.
"My number? Why?"
Reign laughed a bit, "For the assignment, we have to meet up and all."
Skylar felt embarrassed that she had thought more of it. It was a simple gesture and she had blown it out of proportion.
"Okay."
She told him his number, and she peeked at Karly who didn't seem to care but Skylar knew she was putting up a front.
"When do you want to start?"
"Anytime." Karly replied.
"When do you want us to start?" Reign replied.
"As soon as possible would be great, so that we can revise it and get more feedback. So, I would say that tomorrow afternoon would be great."
"Cool." Reign said.
"Fine by me." Karly replied.
Before she could ask when they could meet the bell rang. She would just have to tell them tomorrow or on the group chat.
Skylar looked at her journal and saw that the next class was Math.

"What's your number?" Reign said to her.
"My number? Why?"
Reign laughed a bit, "For the assignment, we have to meet up and all."
Skylar felt embarrassed that she had thought more of it. It was a simple gesture and she had blown it out of proportion.
"Okay."
She told him his number, and she peeked at Karly who didn't seem to care but Skylar knew she was putting up a front.
"When do you want to start?"
"Anytime." Karly replied.
"When do you want us to start?" Reign replied.
"As soon as possible would be great, so that we can revise it and get more feedback. So, I would say that tomorrow afternoon would be great."
"Cool." Reign said.
"Fine by me." Karly replied.
Before she could ask when they could meet the bell rang. She would just have to tell them tomorrow or on the group chat.
