Shen Qi and Hui Yan stopped by to visit Shi Xue, but she was asleep so they didn't want to disturb her. Zhi Hei quietly exited the room and spoke to them in the hallway.
"How's sister in law?"
"She's doing well. She will be discharged in two days."
"That's good. What happened to that attacker and Ku Ze Yang?"
"They are still in the dungeon, but I am not going to kill them or torture them to death."
"Why? They almost harmed both of us!"

Time flew by fast, it's already been 4 months since they found out Shi Xue's pregnant. Every day, the couple would spend time talking to the baby and taking a sweet family picture for their baby's diary. Zhi Hei had a countdown calendar that reaches up to the due date and it became his habit to mark off each day that goes by.
Zhi Hei smiled as he checked off another day off the calendar.
"ahh!"
He dropped the marker and immediately turned around to see Shi Xue covering her belly with both her hands. He ran over to her and asked worriedly, "What's wrong? Are you feeling pain?"
She shook her head and placed his hand onto her belly. He paused as he felt slight bump movements. She smiled happily with moistened eyes, "Little sunshine is kicking me. I was startled when I stood up to go to the bathroom. Hehe... "
Zhi Hei helped her sit down and placed his head near her belly as his hands gently rubbed the area where the movement was last active. He smiled and looked up a few times at his wife with excitement on his face. "This feels incredible. Does it hurt when little sunshine kicks you?"
She giggled, "no, it just itches a little. Feels like a slight bump, very gentle. It's already been this long huh? Haha.. soon we will be able to find out the baby's gender. Do you prefer a girl or a boy?"
"As long as the child is ours, I'll love any gender unconditionally." he hugged her and kissed her on the forehead.
She smiled sweetly and rubbed her tummy gently. "Little sunshine, daddy and mommy can't wait to see you. Another 4 months and you'll be in our arms."
The couple smiled blissfully as they continued enjoying the small movements from her stomach.
"Ah right! I needed to use the bathroom earlier! Haha, see? we got so excited that I forgot I needed to pee."
"I'll go with you."
"I'm fine. The bathroom floor is dry"
"The bigger your tummy gets, the more inconvenient for you. Let me go with you. It's not like I never saw your private parts before. We did do the deed to have little sunshine. Why be shy now?"
"You! better not teach our child these things. Sheesh. Fine, fine come with me. I'm warning you, pregnant woman are slow pee-ers"
"Haha, I'll wait as long as you take since you're taking care of more than one person's business."
She blushed and playfully slapped his arm before walking to the bathroom slowly.
After using the bathroom, the couple spent the rest of the night talking about how to arrange the baby's room after the gender is revealed. The two of them couldn't come to an agreement in what designs the rooms would have if the baby is a girl or boy. They came up with the idea of light pink for a girl's room and sky blue for a boy's room. Other than that, they decided to let the baby choose themselves. They decided to wait till the child grows older and them have him or her choose their own decorations themselves.
Shi Xue excitedly described the image in her mind, "Wouldn't it be fun to decorate the room together as a family? Our child tells us what designs he or she wants and then we listen to the tiny requests. It's heartwarming!"
"Mmm.. whatever you say then..but right now it is getting late. You should rest early. Our child needs sleep to grow."
"nn.nn.. I'm getting a bit sleepy."
He gave her a kiss on the lips and then her tummy. "Goodnight, my sunshines."

In the middle of the night, he woke up from her slight movements and turned on the lights after hearing some painful moans.
"What's wrong? Where does it hurt? stomach?"
She shook her head, "Leg..leg cramps ahhh.."
He quickly pulled the blanket off her body and massaged her calf. He learned about leg cramps possibilities during the second and third trimester from the books he read so he was well prepared for it. He took lessons from Chen Mu and Shen Qi on methods to relieve the cramps. After massaging her leg skillfully for the next minutes, her legs slowly relaxed. He continued massaging her legs until she fell back asleep. He sighed in relief and quickly covered her with the blanket.
After washing his hands, he went back to bed and whispered, "It's been hard on you, darling. Thank you for carrying our precious child and enduring the pain." He kissed her on the forehead before falling back asleep.
